"Spirited"?

What's the deal with this word? I see it used here often and it's usually capitalized. Generally it's something about change, but I just saw a "Spirited grandmother" reference. Can't figure out what's being implied.

It is the term used to describe a specific, awesome poster's presence. This poster's nickname is "Spirit", so say Spirit goes to a meeting, or something. The meeting will be referred to as a "spirited" meeting, because Spirit was there.

In my family, the term "Spirited Grandmother" refers to our dear old Gramgrams. We keep her carcass in the attic, and every once in a while we can hear noises coming through the ceiling. We prefer to think that it's her spirit, as opposed to the rats gnawing on her remains, hence the term "Spirited Grandmother". My eyes are welling up with tears even now as I share this precious family anecdote.

So what does Spirited change mean? Or Spirited grandmother?

I always thought it mean "lively" or "full of spirit" or "energetic/intense"

Sure, but given the use of the term here and it being capitalized with grandmother, I assumed it went with some theme.

Rule of thumb with all Discussion Forums regardless of which one...don't over think it. I've seen so many people get there innards in a twisted knot trying to read between lines and discover hidden meanings. Once in a while there are some...but usually not worth the effort to figure out.:D

"Spirit", better known as @WDW1974 is a poster on the forums who has occasional Disney-related information that is of value. He unfortunately delivers said information in a rather caustic, arrogant tone which grates on many members. He has a cabal of sycophants that follow his every word and will defend him blindly.

I believe in past iterations on this forum and on other sites he uses or has used "Spirit" as his logon and his ego has him perpetuating it here so his devotees can readily identify him [not that he'd be easy to miss].

Hey...I resemble that remark!

And not blindly. Just loyally. And not really syncophantic...more...apostolic.
;-)

Did you pick up my dry cleaning?

You do know what happens to minions who don't get me my dry cleaning on time, right?

Yea, but love him or hate him, I have to admit that I have never seen anyone else that can start a thread that literally goes on forever. I'm starting to suspect that he just has about a thousand accounts and carries on these conversations with himself for the most part. For all I know, I might even be him! I should probably check the labels on my underwear to make sure none of them say "spirit" anywhere.o_O
