They aren't going to toss aside a film that made over 1.1 billion dollars, had the #1 album for weeks on end, and is a huge merchandising giant for them. Not to mention it is the film that brought Disney animation back to life. Frozen is going to be a huge presence in the parks before long.
I totally expect a strong park presence... I was under the impression that the Maelstrom overlay was off the table.

What was your problem with Clone Wars? I thought the series was excellent, especially in the later seasons. It was definitely a show that could be enjoyed by adult Star Wars fans as much as children.

I haven't had a chance to watch it to completion but the Clone Wars movie that kicked off the series was absolutely horrible. It was after watching that that I realized George Lucas really wanted to ruin every facet of SW that fans liked. Everything from Jabba having a baby to his flamboyant gay uncle zero the hutt to Anakin all of a sudden having an apprentice that has never been mentioned anywhere in SW lore was just stupid. Season 1 was a little better but still pretty bad.

Thankfully, Disney is going to distance themselves from that whole era and will hopefully clean up the brand.

AND world showcase is really no place for it, further alienating adults who do not have children and really enjoy a more grown up experience.
At least we see their "vision" for World Showcase coming together...

Frozen on one side, the Rat on the other... They want the young families in that part of EPCOT. Probably so they can cram more Princess and character merchandise in all the countries shops.

Do we know yet if the new Soarin' film will be the same at every location (WDW, DCA, China, etc.) with the exception of the "park ending"...or will each location have a completely different film?

I don't think it's been made clear at all. I would expect each film to "end" at the location where it is being shown, but there's been talk of potentially having varying scenes like Star Tours 2.

I agree that it would be... unwise, to toss aside Frozen. But you have to remember that this is the company who finally gave The Little Mermaid it's own ride... twenty years after it was released.

Grumble grumble grumble.

This franchise has SO MUCH potential. A too-short flume ride isn't going to cut it.

Agreed. As much as Maelstrom needs a good dousing of Clorox and a solid refurb, I think adding Frozen might be a bit misguided. They made enough money off of this movie to be able to afford it a new attraction of its own, not just a 20 year old ride refurbed to make it fit.

You definitely shouldn't judge the series by the movie, it is really not representative of the quality of the series. It definitely gets better in later seasons. Yeah, it is a little odd that Ahsoka is never mentioned anywhere else, but her character, and her relationship with Anakin develops throughout the series and really pays off towards the end.

I could understand Ratatouille being considered for France since the movie actually took place there, but Frozen was in a fictional kingdom with very few ties to the actual Norway. Put it in Magic Kingdom, preferably as a trackless ride. Plus Maelstrom is a favorite of mine since childhood.

It's a shame that it wasn't put in New Fantasyland... or added to it.
