No he's right.

Authentic Philly cheesesteak has steak, cheese whiz and the cheese is put on the bun, not on the meat… And grilled onions. The steak must be ribeye. Even better if you mix the onions with the chopped steak.

No mayonnaise. No peppers. No lettuce or tomato.

I'm guessing people put mayo as a 'fat barrier' to prevent the juices from the meat to soak the bread. Sounds like the wiz directly on the bread would do the same thing, and be, well, authentic....

Personally i'd much rather have a bahn mi....

OK. Like I mentioned before, Penn Station cooks the onions and steak together. It is up to the customer if they want mayo or peppers, they are add-ons. The provolone is added before the ride on the broiler. I prefer mine with the mayo but the peppers depend on my mood. Can we move on to Cheese Coneys now? It's Skyline Time!
Oh, and @Lee, you have not read the small print of your WDWMagic contract that simply states, when the Spirit is away, @Lee is required to participate in the spirited thread by adding tidbits of info and insider commentary. . .

Okay, I get what you prefer. I get it. Doesnt mean thats what an authentic cheesesteak from south street, Philadelphia.

When you put finance or actuarial types as heads of major corporate divisions, the results aren't generally positive for consumers or fans.
As a "finance or actuarial type," I take offense to that. Granted, I think I get what you're trying to say: many of my brethren tend to be so absorbed in the numbers they don't see the forest for the trees. However, I challenge you to show me a successful financial services or insurance company NOT headed by a "finance or actuarial type."

Sorry...I've been busy.
Anyhow, it seems you guys have been doing fine with your in-depth exploration of sammitches.
Spirit would be proud. He does enjoy a good sammitch.

I did put a piece of Brazil concept art in yon Ratatouille thread...

I can't wait for @WDW1974 to see what this thread has evolved into during his absence.

Hey, a bunch of things happened that no one wants to discuss. For Instance....

- The Universal Media Preview was announced. June 17-20.

- 7DMTC is having O&T Cast Test as we speak. MK cast is supposed to be on soon. No day guests yet.

- More Disney Springs Info came out. None of it involves improved parking anytime soon.

- Maingates & Cast ID are blacked out for both Studios & MK for Memorial Day Weekend. This covers the 24 Hour Party & Boba Fett.

- Jason Garcia announced he's leaving the Orlando Sentinel to join Florida Trend magazine.

- Rebel Rendezvous started today. Lots of Merchandising... where the real money from the film is made.

Nice summation of recent events Dave, and not a word about Wawa or cheeseteaks!

Don't take offense, my goodness people are touchy here -- My main position at work is in executive finance!! ;) You're right about financial services and insurance companies, but The Walt Disney Company is an entertainment conglomerate.

Skyline is interesting, the chili is pretty good but those are some very low quality hot dogs! All I could think of was how much better they would be on some local charcoal grilled hot dogs. They use insane amounts if cheese though, that's a good thing.

Now why can't anyone make some good chicken wings outside of western ny?? And if you consider a breaded chicken wing I will find you!
Point taken on the hot dogs. The weiners are little bitty things (no jokes here please) and a poor vehicle for the chili. I suppose that is why I usually get a 3 or 4 way. As far as breaded wings, let's just say you don't go to Hooter's for the food. . .

Or just don't go to hooters :) plenty of knock offs with better food and shorter skirts.

True, but sometimes authentic does not mean better. . . That said, most times, better does not mean better either. I guess what got me is when I read that Cheez Wiz can be used to remove stains in your laundry. . .
