That sounds good--but it's not a cheesesteak. Much like Giordanos is good, too, but it sure as hell isn't "pizza."
Steak - Cooked on a hot griddle with butter and onions (peppers are of course optional). Chopped into smaller pieces using the two-handed spatula technique, Slap some mayo on a freshly baked roll, fill the roll with the steak and onions, put on a few slices of provolone and then put onto the metltavator 3000 (kind of like a broiler with a conveyor track) to fully melt the cheese and toast the roll. Mmmm, baby. If i is not a cheesesteak, it is still delicious!

Now, for the gyro (Ghee-Roh) that is made without shaving it from the 'spit', well, if I wanted steak-um, I would have picked some up at Kroger.

Every chain restaurant I've been to cannot do a cheesesteak properly…
Oh, I do not fully disagree with you there, except this did not start as a chain. I really think Penn Station realized what they had and really pursued the College campus market. If you see one, I suggest you give them a try. I do not think you will be disappointed.

Did you say "mayo"?

Mayo doesn't belong on a cheesesteak. Proper cheesesteak is steak, wiz, onions and the bun. That's it. I think the major difference between the cheesesteaks in Philly and everywhere else are the Amoroso rolls.

This thread is gonna start a fight. Philadelphia people aren't known for settling grievances with words. More like throwing batteries at Santa Claus

Snowballs. We threw snowballs at a drunk teenagers dressed as Santa in 1968. He was a poor Santa.

We threw batteries at JD Drew after he wanted a 10 million dollar signing bonus.

Both of those are across the line.

We cheered when Michael Irvin broke his neck.

If you grew up in the NFC East, you can understand why we cheered

And those are nice people compared to flyers fans ;)

Flyers players are even worse :) but I'd still rather watch them beat Pittsburgh than any other team.

Interesting how a sizable percentage of the Disney world demo comes from the Philadelphia area.

Significant enough that when schools are out there or jersey, attendance is impacted dramatically.

NJ is the #1 feeder state. And the southern half of NJ is basically Philly. Also, socioeconomically, the southern half tends to be more likely to vacation in Orlando than, say, the Hamptons or Cancun.

Yes and no. swolphin serves a wiz wit on an Amoroso roll but it doesn't taste right....
