So I don't know if you all heard the news but on Friday Disney basically came out and said "Hey Star Wars fans...you know all those comics, games and novels you have been buying over the years that we told you were officially part of the SW Universe? Well turns out they aren't! But here is a whole new line of comics, games, and novels for you to purchase that are part of the Star Wars story FOR REAL this time"

Needless to say avid SW fans are livid and naturally went to the comments section of various Disney blogs to voice their anger and concerns. However, DISNEY has decided to censor and delete all comments concerning the situation as to not tarnish their image as a pro-fan/social media savvy Company Soviet Union style and this has riled up even more Star Wars fans to attack and trash various Disney Social Media sites. Here is an example:

Doesn't this happen every single time a new Star Wars movie comes out?
These people have short memories.

Spamming every availabe Disney blog to whine about some minor characters no one's ever heard of isn't going to help their situation

It was never canon.

"I don't read that stuff. I haven't read any of the novels. I don't know anything about that world. That's a different world than my world. But I do try to keep it consistent. The way I do it now is they have a Star Wars Encyclopedia. So if I come up with a name or something else, I look it up and see if it has already been used. When I said [other people] could make their own Star Wars stories, we decided that, like Star Trek, we would have two universes: My universe and then this other one. They try to make their universe as consistent with mine as possible, but obviously they get enthusiastic and want to go off in other directions."

Yeah, that was never 'officially' canon for the franchise. I don't know why people are so up in arms over it. And when a company buys a product, they have every right to do what they want with it.

Bob Iger seems to just want to buy as many things as possible. $$$$.

Hopefully he was embarassed at the state of the WDW property after supposedly lurking undercover. He should be. Are the monorails clean yet? Hopefully he took a nice ride on one of them to see the mold and enjoy that smell.

And back on the Bryan Singer thing .... Bret Easton Ellis (American Psycho author) is talking "I knew about Bryan Singer's underage parties" .... http://www.tvguide.com/News/Ellis-Singer-Parties-1081021.aspx

Is this a good place to talk about the MC article this morning? The "sky is falling" reports from a few months ago about just about every project in the pipeline being held or shelved appear to be true. Pandora scaled back to just one ride, dining, and shopping, and the Star Wars overlay to DL's Tommowland put back up on the shelf.

I thought things being shelved were from a while ago. And MC is often not favorable to WDW so it's ALWAYS worst case scenario. People can say they aren't biased but they are.

They've been all over the map lately, mostly depending on who's writing. This noise hasn't died down since they broke it earlier this year (or late last year?). Can you imagine WDW projects going ahead while the DL Tomorrowland overlay is scrapped? It will be interesting to see how the handle the Subs at the end of their scheduled "refurbishment".

And wouldn't Pandora money already be 'spent' basically? I just can't see them having one ride. That's stupid.

I'm sure they've spent on R&D for the project, but it's still far enough out that cutting the other attractions would save a great deal of money in engineering and construction costs. As for a costly new addition coming online with just one ride... See New Fantasyland.

Hopefully some of our insiders @articos, @marni1971, @Lee etc. can chime in soon, if they can

Somebody who knows infinitely more than I.. Please chime in!

Agree, sometimes after reading their articles I always ask myself why did I read that, they just make me mad lol. They never say anything good about wdw. As for pandora I havent heard any rumblings here on wdwmagicc about the Pandora boat ride being cut, so there should still be two rides, unless some insiders are holding out on us till they hear something more concrete.

The truth hurts. WDW is the worst-run resort in the Disney collection, with no turnaround in sight.

If what they say about Pandora is true, very sad to hear the boat ride has been shelved. Zero interest now.

I never said it wasn't run badly. LOL. It sure is. I'd love to see all of TDO fired (unless someone can tell me a few names who deserve to stay). But even when anything good does happen they find a way to make it negative. But that's not really the point I guess, lol.

I agree about Pandora. If the boat ride is shelved, I have very little interest. I was looking forward to that. Meh about the flying ride unless they find a way to really really really make it impressive (LOL)

Yeah, I have serious doubts.

Definitely, although the mystery is refreshing versus the nearly daily updates that can be found from any Florida construction projects. I agree they are cutting it close to actually "add" anything for opening day.

I answered one of my questions though, the only thing I can find that may have been axed Blue Sky was a Jungle Cruise attraction: http://www.blueskydisney.com/2011/08/blue-sky-buzz-shanghai-hopes.html

Honour Hunter definitely was pretty connected back then, 95% of that has come to fruition.

Within the last months or so Honor Hunter wrote a pretty detailed article on shanghi on Tor.com. He's writing an occasional article on this site. Just FYI
