I don't care much about them, frankly. I just don't like them being shoehorned into the Disney pantheon; I feel they're dated, they're has-beens, they're a poor fit, and haven't brought anything to the company. I don't like the Marvel and Star Wars acquisitions for much the same reasons. (Marvel will probably be profitable at least; Star Wars remains to be seen).

Drugs. Don't do them.

And that's that. I'm not here to ENDLESSLY debate the Muppets' worth with their fans. I'm not saying anything more about them beyond this post. You might note that PhotoDave threw me a set-up line and I merely followed up on it. The new Muppet film flopped spectacularly, and so as far as I'm concerned, I've won the argument. I'm done with the Muppets - unless someone gives me an opening I can't resist. Moving on...
I could say the same thing about Oswald.

Exactly. Folks should know better, but if they see trash on the floor, especially in a place that PRIDED itself on being clean, it becomes "more accepted", even if I totally don't agree with this mentality.

I think it has become acceptable at WDW to behave that way. I've seen people do stuff at WDW that I can't believe they would do in the real world.

Random observations from a post-Spring Break Saturday in MK:
  • Trash everywhere, in line queues, in walkways, overflowing from cans. Bad enough my friends and I commented on it. On out way out, a survey taker stopped and asked us specifically about how clean the parks were, and if/where we saw trash. Sounds like TDO cut some custodial shifts, trying to see if anyone notices. Gotta pay for MM+ somehow!

Maybe if Disney stopped paying for so many darn survey takers there would be more funds freed up to actually maintain the parks. Sad to hear about the trash all over the place. Its such a basic tenant of maintenance and there's no excuse for it.

Ah yes...a classic from the early days indeed !
I enjoy *Adventure* still.

Agree regarding *Haunted House*.
A fun little game with some neat game concepts for that time.
It is still fun to play..and bump around in the dark with.
I will admit...i think part of the appeal of it for me was pretending that i was playing a video game version of The Haunted Mansion.

Top faves of original Atari 2600 cart games that have stood the test of time for me would be :

Defender
Joust
Centipede
Asteroids
Ms. Pac-Man
Dig Dug
Space Invaders
Phoenix
Missile Command

What I still have...I haven't seen my Pitfall cartridge since ET got buried...

I can see it now...all the AAs in every ride would get ripped out and replaced with sock puppets. (And some here would think that's a good thing)...

If they were mypp

Yes plenty of survey takers and CM stationed at places that could easily be replaced with a sign. How boring of a shift would that be, saying "no you can't go in there" over and over.

Not including marketing the film has now recouped the initial budget. I wouldn't call that a spectacular flop by any means. While I will say it's not on the level as the 2011 film.

Add Shanghai to my list. Sigh. They're just giving me more and more reasons to visit the overseas parks. Why can't we see a thread that says "Epcot receiving ...." or "Disney Hollywood Studios getting ...".
Because with ROI as the prime motivational factor on capital investment, the most efficient use of money Is to invest where return is highest. In 20 years China is expected to have a middle class equal to the current population of the United States. If the United States can support 2 Disney theme parks, the expected size of middle class in China could theoretically support 12 Disney theme parks. So if you have a finite amount of capital with the expected of maximizing return, even I would invest in China before domestic locations.
