Television models are completely irrelevant to whether or not a person is still known.

If you don't want it updated, that.s great. I'm saying it needs an update. I'm using the 4:3 aspect ration 420p television as a reference to the show being out of tune.

Personal opinion...
It was terrible when they put Ellen in the opening act, it's still terrible. I love Ellen...just hate what they did to Universe of Energy.

I wish there were a love button (I may have a few personal ones!) for posts like this.

So true. It is, as Duncan Wardle famously crowed in that video from a good 7-9 years ago now ... the one that helped raise my dander (and at my age, that takes more than it used to!) about social media, BRAND advocates and the fan community, about the ability of the company to drown out any messages that are not on point or against the point. No negativity is allowed. Everything is simply MAGICal. All the time.
While it is at least 85% negative, there are some very vocal pro-GotG TOT overlay people out there. Shills or brain dead BRANDers? No idea

Cars Land as an environment is impressive, and RSR is a great ride. So is Mystic Manor.

Still, i'm inclined to give some of the higher tier Eisner era rides an advantage. Splash Mountain (at least the WDW and Tokyo versions) is a favorite of mine, i'll probably get some negativity for this view but I personally place it above RSR as a single ride experience. RSR has incredible rockwork and is a great ride, but the massive animatronic population and charming sets designed meticulously from the animated Brer Rabbit cartoons are wonderful. I'd also rank Indiana Jones Adventure above Mystic Manor (or Great Movie Ride, an early trackless experience again with tons of intricate sets and advanced animatronics). I also adore Kilimanjaro Safari, which I rank among some of the best Disney rides out there. Plus there's Journey to the Center of the Earth and Sinbad at Tokyo DisneySea.
While I can't speak for what rides best Mystic Manor, I can vouch for Splash Mountain having the upper hand over RSR. While I love RSR to death, it will never be able to beat something on the level of Splash Mountain and that does include the DL version which I think not only has the best soundtrack/score out of all the Splash Mountains, but possibly every Disney ride ever.

You know what though, I don't think I even care snymore. I'm pretty much done. I already decided not to renew anyway but I'm sick and tired of seeing laziness and I'm not going to reward it with my money. I have money saved, I'll take a trip to Europe instead of go visit NYC for a while. I can honestly say I think I'm done and not even a Star Wars land can fix that.
Like you said.
We are doing a four country Europe tour this fall and the return trip is a cross Atlantic cruise back to Ft. Lauderdale. No DCL or Disneyland Paris involved. I Have visitors at present here in central Florida with teens and a toddler. They are doing Uni, museums, beach, and "escape rooms". They have been annual visitors for a few years but say no to the WDW wasteland.

See, this is a weird issue.

Either destroy a fantastic attraction in a terrible park or destroy a terrible attraction in a fantastic park (although, it's not as fantastic as it used to be). It's a paradox.

In my opinion, I'd MUCH rather see Universe of Energy be taken over for several reasons. For one, Tower of Terror is phenomenal, no explanation needed. UoE, on the other hand, is a 35 minute attraction that is, let's face it, boring. You know you've done something wrong when 3/4 of the people in your row are either sleeping or playing Pokémon GO. :cyclops:

Second, I know SO many people are going to argue "But UoE has SUCH a great capacity!!!". Well, I hate to break it too ya, but a ride with a great capacity really doesn't have great capacity when 5/6 of the seats aren't full. Last week, there were just enough people in there to fill one out of the six cars. While it may be the last remaining remnant of EPCOT Center and edutainment, it's just too long and a colossal waste of space in comparison to how many people experience the attraction per hour.

Third, you need to think about theming. While Guardians really fits in horribly in both places, you need to think of which one is horrendous and then which one is slightly less horrendous. :hilarious: Anything can be described in one line, including films, television shows, plays, theme park attractions, etc. Guardians of the Galaxy can be described as "A band of unlikely heroes join together to fight villains throughout the intergalactic systems, creating peace throughout the Galaxy" or something along those lines (I'm horrible at making these, if you couldn't tell :D). Now, I know it goes against EPCOT's original message/theming, but would that fit better in a loose representation of the future/space (or whatever hodgepodge is currently in Future World) or 1930's Hollywood? You have to pick and choose. While they're both horrible options, one needs to figure out which one is worse than the other. Now, I know people will be point out flaws in this argument, but you just have to think it through, especially when the nut jobs that are Disney Executives won't create a freaking new attraction. :banghead:

Finally, I'd much rather them go all out with a big-budgeted E-Ticket (albeit in the wrong place) over a less expensive re-skinning of Tower of Terror. It's what the IP deserves IMO.

And, like all of you, I'd MUCH prefer a new attraction (or mini-land) in DHS over either of these options. But, if we can only get one of the first two options, I'd prefer UoE.

Best thing Disney could have done was concentrate Marvel in California and keep Star Wars in Orlando exclusively. This would have given fans of each a reason to visit each coast.
That isn't a solution to keep SW in WDW and Marvel in Cali. People have to understand that Anaheim doesn't want people flying from all over staying there. WDW was built for that. To be like fly paper and once your stuck there they will take every last dollar you have before you leave property. Disneyland wants to own the local market in SoCal which they do. Potter didn't even make a dent actually helped with attendance in Anaheim. And the only way to keep locals happy is to have new rides as often as they can. WDW already has proven you don't have to change anything for 10-15 years and the people with pixie dust oozing everywhere keep coming. Now things may change if they build more and more resorts in Anaheim but I just don't see them buying more land to do that.

While some come for the tasty news and gossip, I would continue to visit this site just for the comedy. I did a screen grab of this just so if anyone does the disservice of liking it as well... it will live on in the .jpg.

I really don't understand why they don't just put a new build for Guardians in DHS. This is far and away the most logical choice. Demo some of the area between RnRC and Star Wars Launch Bay or Demo Indiana Jones. If they're considering a newish build in Epcot, it's not like this is going to be a cost savings, why not put it where it belongs.

Ellen wouldn't be as outdated if they kept the ride up to date. Ellen herself isn't old and outdated, Bill Nye is kinda outdated. While I don't agree with GOTG coming to Epcot if it will save ToT I guess it's worth the sacrifice.
Alex Trebeck's mustache is out dated.

Ellen's Energy Adventure is very well done for what it was, but a 45 minute ride/show combo simply isn't packing in the crowds any more. I want to a science based attraction and I'd love to see it hosted by Neil Degrasse Tyson (bigger name) and/or Michio Kaku.
