Which is a shame. I just got back from DLP and their MK is several times better than the one here. Even after the dwarfs have their coaster built, New Fantasyland still won't be able to touch what was built in Europe 20 years prior.

Yes, yes, yes!!!!

I am still hesitant to judge New Fantasyland as I am sure it will have a different feel once the coaster is done, but I was so disappointed when I saw it as even though it is very pretty it falls so short if you compare it with DLP's Fantasyland. MK's Fantasyland in my opinion lacks any kind of binding concept that keeps it together.

Agreed, This thread seems to just contain confirmation/rehashing of what we are seeing elsewhere, at least in regards to WDW. Which is certainly appreciated, but nothing groundbreaking.

Exactly. It is always a compilation of the latest rumor mill offerings intermixed with spirited rants. Though lately there are a few compliments thrown in so that is an improvement. I don't understand the hero worship but then I have never have been prone to such.

Paris. Probably more of a signature dining than Be Our Guest so I'm not sure it's a fair comparison. Either way it's potentially coming to Disney Springs.

Well, pricewise the two compare quite nicely:

Walt's:
Grilled sirloin ... €24.49 (31.68 $ at current exchange rate)
served with bearnaise sauce, baby potatoes and mixed salad (info thanks to dlrpmagic)
this price includes tax and gratuity

Be Our Guest:
Grilled Strip Steak
with Garlic-Herb Butter and Pommes Frites
$ 32.99 (according to wdwmagic's dinner menu)
of course here you need to add tax and gratuity

And I guess no one can claim that Paris is a cheap place to eat at.

Speaking of NextGen, the new touch-to-pay/card swipe terminals are ugly and annoying. If my local Publix can automatically handle me swiping my card whenever I want, so should Disney. And the mag stripe facing away seems to be the complete opposite direction I hold my card everywhere else I use it. Not very intuitive from a company that claims an obsession with detail. And again, just as a piece of industrial design, they're ugly and stick out when they should disappear until they're right where you'd expect them when needed.

I agree. Also, while the touch pay system worked well for me most of the times, the keyboard for the PIN is sooo tiny that I sometimes really fumbled with hitting the right keys and I have small fingers.

It's not hero worship, but rather, admiration of and for good writing. Every word, phrase, sentence and paragraph has a meaning that is often subtle yet complex. The posts are rich, firm and fully packed.

The Spirit is able to say with just a few well chosen words what others laboriously say in multiple paragraphs. It's pleasurable and entertaining to read his prognostications and I think we can all learn something from his posts. I know I have.

This is the second week in my studies to complete my 30 Days To A More Powerful Vocabulary workbook! :)

I would have agreed with this a month ago, but with how dull it was while he was gone I've jumped to straight up hero worship;)

Hi guys,
Just a reminder to everyone that the type of personal exchanges that we're starting to see on the last few pages tend to be the things that escalate and get threads closed. Lets just keep it on topic instead of devolving into "us" vs. "them" type arguments.

Paramount looks quite good for an opening day park. Anyone else notice how closely the lands resemble Mk parks? Hmm...

Paramount Murcia looks to be in a league with the top tier. It's being designed by some of the best in the business, and consensus is it looks absolutely gorgeous. It certainly may give DLP a run for their money.

Someone had suggested in another thread that the ride system for the door coaster wasn't workin out an it had been scrapped. No idea if that is true.

If the door coaster is truly planned for DCA, then I don't quite understand why they wouldn't add it to DHS in Soundstage 1 at the same time. Unless they have that space allocated for something else, it would be cost effective to spread the development cost and build it simultaneously in both parks (like they did with TSMM and TLM).
What's being planned for DCA is not the same system as was being worked by R&D originally some years ago. Retains some of the elements, but not trying to revive what had been worked before.

Nice to see you, '74.

You want a real in park meal go to Walt's. BoG looks nice, but is nothing special in terms of food.

BOG's food for both lunch and dinner is mediocre at best. Hit one of the resorts off the monorail beam if you truly want a good meal. CS in the MK is truly sub par ... I mean seriously, how can you mess up a burger and fries ... well, they found a way.

CHH may be the exception here.
Their Anchors Away sandwich is truly outstanding; and my SIL loved the lobster roll.
And a Dole Whip float can be a meal in itself.
