1.) An attraction will be going there;
2.) It is slowly moving along and should open by mid-2017;
3.) More food and beverage locations.

Good to know. I'm slowly compiling proof that the radioactive processes required to reverse aging (which, at the most base level, is a quantum mechanical effect) are in the hands of WDW executives. One big piece of evidence is their view of time is different than other humans. Further, technology this expensive can only be obtained if ticket and food prices are absurd. Finally, the staging area for this aging reversal process is almost certainly located in the middle of the Pacific (the real blue ocean) so that rubes won't be troubled by this new development. See how it all ties together.

I see the Disney characters doing the same thing. They'll not only know the names of their meet and greet patrons, but they'll also know where they are from and some of their interests (sports, hobbies, literature, etc.). That kind of knowledge can be a valuable tool. Magicians use such special knowledge to perform amazing "telepathic" tricks.

Just imagine if one of those children in the video had been a Yankees fan and the Transformer impressed the child with some baseball talk. This sounds like a grand slam to me.

"Billy, did you know that your daddy can use his Yankee Visa card to buy one of the 11 Disney pins that feature characters wearing the ball cap of your beloved Yankees?"

Walk through attractions have their place, and Walt Disney World needs more of them to help flesh out the parks and a depth that can be explored. The problem is when, like you say, they become a cost savings measuring and are supposed to substitute for something of a bit more substance.

Agreed. I'm not opposed to a Pandora walk through or any walk through in general but they are more complimentary attractions, not draws. DAK needs more rides especially family friendly ones and I will be disappointed if they only get one ride (even if it is a monster E-ticket) out of this expansion.

If Avatar gets reduced to only the E-ticket and a walk through, I would hope that TDO adds something elsewhere to help make it a "full day park", because that isn't enough IMHO. The park needs a lot more capacity to justify longer hours.

DLP has at least one walkthrough attraction in each land (actually 1 in FrontierLand, 3 in AdventureLand, 2 in Fantasyland, 1 in DiscoveryLand and 2 in MSUSA), they're all greatly themed and work fine as a "sponge" for big crowds. But then, if you think that the Swiss Family Treehouse or Tom Sawyer Island are undisney...

Did they start out as actual rides? Maybe you'd want POTC to be a walk thru attraction like it was intended... And if this ride is supposed to be immersive with AAs, no it's not enough to be a "sponge" for crowd control, especially when the park NEEDS dark rides, not more walk thrus.

Just pointing out that walkthrough are very Disney =) And Alice's Curious Labyrinth in DLP many elements from the Alice dark ride in DL.

@|Q| After rereading that post, I didn't mean to come across as snarky as I did. This has more to do with AK needing more family dark rides, and downgrading one to a walk thru.

And Disney, to me, an attraction is a ride, it's what they do best. I can go to a lot of places with good walk thrus. We don't need more trails with ambiance, no matter how well-themed they are. Especially in AK. :)

When you're the leader, you don't have to follow.

I'm with you. AK has enough walk-throughs and shows. I want rides!
For us, there's the safari, Everest (a couple of times), Dinosaur, Primeval Hurl for the kids, ITTBAB, Kali, lunch at Flame Tree, and then over to "a real park". Sorry, my teenaged boys are not into FotLK or the Nemo show, or a train ride to a petting zoo.
A couple of cool rides may make this a past 1:00 park.

I love trees. But I also like to be cool and comfortable on hot, humid FL days and nights. Disney always froze people out, but now you barely get that in shops. UNI/SW keep their insides cold. Disney does in Anaheim.

In FL, they simply go with the 'they're tourists, they expect to sweat even inside' excuse. It's all about the green, not going green.

Been in the parks all week and that has not been a problem. Seems like an odd nitpick to keep pushing.

Well, to be fair, everyone has a different level what they consider cold or hot. When I was there in February, I felt like some buildings were actually pretty darn sweltering (most notably a few in Epcot) and a few queues (MK was the culprit there). But then I noticed other times that other building were the typical Disney frigid. I don't mind that he pushes it, but I think it's somewhat a matter of consistency as well. And based on my experience, it's just totally variable between places. If they've turned the AC down as a whole (I don't actually know if they have), I do think that is pretty cheap of Disney, especially going into the summer months.

I was there in January and it was extremely hot in the Space Mountain queue. It wasn't even too hot outside, especially since it was near park close.

Going back to the subject of restaurants, I got to eat at Fast Food Blvd yesterday. If you think BOG was bad, wait until you eat here. I had the Chicken and Waffle sandwich. The chicken was good, but the waffles? Holy **** were those bad. Do you like cold Eggo waffles? Then you'll love the sandwich! I expected fresh made waffles and not prepackaged crap. The tater tots were ok. I also had some Buzz Cola, delicious! My dad had a Krusty Burger and said it sucked, tasted just like Ritcher's. If I were you, I'd play safe and get a Nathan's hot dog or the Double Batter Chicken Platter from there, or just eat at Citywalk. There's also no theming whatsoever in here despite what the foamers are saying. Big letdown.

That is actually the queue I was thinking of as well when it comes to hot queues. Was quite uncomfortable.

I thought Moe's had pretty good interior theming. Looked just like it was in the show!

If I were to eat at Fast Food Boulevard, I would probably eat at Lisa's Teahouse of Horror. Everything else looks too greasy and would probably leave me feeling disgusting. Though, the pizzas do look pretty good!

Moe's looked great, I'm referring to FFB. A general rule of thumb is I don't trust theme park pizza outside of Via Napoli because of quality. BTW, Teahouse of Horror is just water, snacks, and desserts.
