...or you could just grab a bottle of coke at the gift shop and put it in your pocket and walk out.

And if you do, then don't worry because Disney will allow you to ... even if you also stuck a hoodie and a DVD in a shopping bag too.

Shoplifting is apparently just fine with Disney ...but let's all talk about people reusing refillable mugs ... oh wait, @The Mom wisely closed that thread.

Oh, and if you don't shoplifting is a constant at WDW's parks then you haven't paid attention.

The Drive in at Tulsa is a really popular local landmark (it was in the movie The Outsiders) and it is an amazing place to watch a movie. I hope the drive in movie theaters continue to stick around for a long time.

There was a drive-in literally five minutes from my house up until a few years ago... it was pretty run down and turned into a medical park. :( I feel fortunate, though, because there is still a nice, popular one that will be around for a long time about 30 mins away. The line to get in on Monsters U opening weekend was a mile down the street.

Not suprised that shoplifting is a problem, with how unsecured those food carts are really easy to swipe a fruit and a bottle of water. I've never done that before except when I was four and I thought that the bananas piled up on the cart were free.

Wouldn't Dark Shadows have taken care of that already?

P.S. - I didn't see that Depp movie either, just like I won't see this one. Anyone want to fight about that?

Yes, I do.

I saw Dark Shadows when it came out (at a small cinema in the N.C. hicks with some dear friends) and loved it. Thought it was, much like Ranger, a perfect summer popcorn flick. I also think it was the victim of a poor release date (although it didn't bomb like that Battleship did, remember that?) ... I can't really think of a film that Depp has been in that I haven't at least found to be OK. Both Dark Shadows and Lone Ranger are far better than OK.

I think the patterns this year are going to be out of the norm. My sense is June/July are not where they should be. But Spring was way over, and winter really just stormed right into spring. Strange.

It won't be completely strange when free dining starts back up and Disney starts posting some " insane?!?" September counts. Jan - March was some serious insane attendance at MK, the kind of numbers that actually would lead to an 18 million year end count. Made me basically boycott the parks and almost not renew my pass until Memorial Day passed and visitation to Disney parks fell way off seasonal norms. I think New Fantasyland forced a lot of guest visits into this year's Spring Break, which has increasingly been a busier and busier time of year for Orlando.

Water parks are seeing some serious guest flow when the weather cooperates. Lots of capacity days for AQ/BB/TL.

Also, @ParentsOf4, I can give you a few tips on how to eyeball park attendance. Not that hard when you know exactly what to look for.

Where the hell is @Lee with his deep hillbilly thoughts?
Deep hillbilly thought? Ok.
Lone Ranger...badass.

Not everyone has to like it. Everyone has different tastes and TLR played right to mine. Made me smile for two hours.

But, hey...some folks like Lost in Translation. Some folks juggle geese...

No idea why it had a target on it. I did notice that some online "personalities" were knocking it prior to release, prompting what I see as a bunch of bandwagon jumping by fanboys who decided it was cool to knock the film. Sheep.

I have noticed though that more famies are starting to go to drive ins, mainly because they don't have to worry about the kids pestering other people and if they get grouchy they can still watch the movie and not have to take them outside :).

Because they need to be spoon fed. Someone needs to let folks in media up in VA know what's going down and even O-Town media should have an interest in the story because of SW's presence here.

Media up here has picked up a BGW Fans forum for certain articles on heavy matters such as part failures on testing rides and even LA Times has. Media though is heavily interested on the military and what is ongoing with it. The thought of pesky tolls in an area where 40% of the populous pays out of state taxes but uses the roads here has consumed them as well. Although BGW rakes in large amounts of money and is a big tourist hot spot as well as locals its funds it brings in are small compared to the MIC Hampton Roads is known for.

Things are getting more interesting by the day, however. Or should I say by the hour?

Depp really comes across as someone who will do the type of films that HE wants to do. I am sure he was offered a better higher paying role than of his in Shadows. But that is the type of role that also helped to make it. Matt McHeyHeyHey has been turning down larger roles left and right to do smaller features. They have been pretty good too.

Why people feel a movie is a failure unless it is a massive record shattering deal I will never know.

*DING**DING**DING* Winner!

It goes deeper than just that one picture. Much deeper. Each princess gets a pony (of course!), a puppy, etc.

I just threw up in my mouth a little...

Someone please...take these little abominations, and that other repulsive pony thing, and kill them. With fire.
Last thing we need is some of that "brony" nonsense starting up with these Disney....horse-things.

Now Lee you know that you're going to buy AT LEAST one of all those pets. You're probably getting your credit card out right now ;).

I know I stated this earlier in the thread but will state it again, westerns are nowhere near as popular as they were years and years ago! And to top that statement, every western that has come out in the last 10-15 years or so have been really bad. It reminds me of early 90's horror movie decline in a way.

I also think that the release date was a bad choice as well. I think if this came out during the November/ December holiday season, it most certainly would have made more than $30 million stateside on its opening weekend!

On another note, has anyone seen that new poll post about D23 and speculation if they will announce anything or not? I thought this was already covered here on the boards!

Lastly, after watching DM2 this afternoon I have to say that the new animated movies coming out look awful! The previews were really bad and I can't even believe some of these films are being made! I think the only good trailer I saw was for cloudy 2! And what's with that Lego Movie! It seems so scatterbrained!!!! Although my 5 year old wants to see it because he's obsessed with the Lego games on Xbox!

No. Disrespectful might be say Man of Steel to Superman's history or definitely the last three Star Wars films to George Lu... um ... ahm ... so, how's that MM+ coming along?

Speaking of MM+, I read in the official thread that the new tests going on are allowing guests to choose any rides for FP+ instead of the tiered system that was previously in place! I do hope this holds true! We will see if more elaborate details become available from a tester soon!

It is crazy. It wasn't all that long ago that a film made $100 million at the domestic BO that it was a blockbuster. Think about that and let it set in. Then, it was $200 million. ... Now, I don't even know. Iron Man 3 was, but understand that it wasn't profittable until it made somewhere betwen $700-800 million. Think about how nuts that is. Flat out I-N-S-A-N-E. And despite all the screen we have in this country nothing gets time to find an audience. That cinema may have 24 auditoriums, but with IMAX, Sorta-IMAX, 3D, you can have a film taking up 4-5-6 screens at a time.

How many people here on July 8th even remember that films like Great Gatsby, After Earth, Oblivion, Hangover 3 were SUMMER releases?

If any of my fanboi minions is found out to be a brony they are beaten severly ... and not in the way that they like.

Tie-Land ... a place you buy ties. Interesting.
