One Little Spark...
Universal has the QS plan usually offered for about $25 per person. The DDP is north of $30 for the quick service option. The Universal one is also unlimited meals while Disney is 2 meals and a snack per day. Universal's is definitely a better deal.

Disney's includes drinks, Universal's does not. When you add in drinks (or the red refillable cup) it comes out closer in price...

It's still a pretty decent deal...but, one I'll probably skip in the near future when we go back.

The options on Uni's all day dining is a little limited, but it is still a great deal. I Know any DP gets grief around here, but as long as you plan to eat twice at the parks, the plans make sense. But I can also see where the various park DPs have dumbed down the food options.

No drinks??? That's a rip off. That's why it's unlimited. Most people aren't going to eat 5 or 6 times in a day, but on a hot day they might drink that much. I also think the Universal plan is only good for a half dozen places or something while Disney has many more QS locations on the plan.

In another thread they posted the newer Uni DP options...which now have Table Service, snacks and drinks (similar to Disney's)! THAT I would carefully consider! The all day / all you can eat plan would certainly make sense for larger families or families with hungry (read, teenaged) kids that can eat 2000 - 3000 calories a day and not care...

For me and the 7 year old, I think it pretty much broke even. Actually, no, it was a loss, as we stopped using it after the first day, even though I'd prepaid for it. We just weren't all that interested in the restaurants it was available at, considering there were so many other quality food options around.

Like the Disney plan, I think the value is directly tied to the situation. Is it one? Certainly...but not for everyone, every time.

Disney's QS credits work at pretty much any QS location on property (and even some kiosks, like, you can use it for a turkey leg...comes with a drink and chips...I'd imagine Gaston's treats the pork shank similarly). It's now even accepted at most QS at DTD (Earl of Sandwich? Bongos? Anyone?)...

The Uni plan, at least last year when we had it, had 6 restaurants (3 in IoA and 3 in Uni)...

Pizza, roasted 1/2 chicken, burger, chicken ceasar salad, spagetti, chicken fingers, fried chicken, fish and chips, fettucini, meatball subs

We need you to feed us some juicy info to get this thread back on track! What other secrets reside in the dark recesses of the spirit's mind??? Please share! ;)

Unfortunately, there isn't anything going on ... I'd much rather discuss other things that would get ugly in a hurry here (likely).

All is quiet on the Disney front. I think that's why folks have gone from talking about those MAGICal Tangled toilets (nice, but not all that!) to escalators at the Land and cinnamon buns that Starbucks has taken away.

I 'may' and I use that term with caution have more (or more detailed, I should say) info on UNI's Florida plans and Disney's Asian plans in the next few days or I may not.

Oh, and on another front, as I type this Tony Baxter is being given a proper good-bye (sorry, fanbois he is done with Disney and he is too much of a fanboi himself to go work for UNI or someone else) at DL's Club 33.

I want the info. But I think we all agree that we don't want to be in 74's brain that would be scary

You have no ideaaaaaa ....

Ugh, I saw the trailer the other day, and I can't stop rolling my eyes. That ridiculous fake bird on Depp's head is so absurd! If I did see this movie, I'd probably bring nachos . . . to go with all the cheese.

And you think Captain Jack with more makeup than many fanbois at the Parliament House in O-Town is somehow less cheesy?

I think the Lone Ranger looks like it may be quite good and I hope so. Westerns have been either dead or so violent that they weren't suitable for younger folks. It would be great if the same group that made pirate movies fun could do the same for westerns.

Understandable. MM is a slooow burn. I watched the first season while I was convalescing. Not sure I would've stuck with it if I hadn't been stuck in bed.

And as much as I appreciate Arrested Development (fourth season rates a good-not-great IMO), I'm just impressed that you took a leak next to Hank from Larry Sanders.

Hey now!

Haven't had a chance to see the new season of AD. I have heard very mixed things, including from lovers of the series who also are industry people. ... (Long Ranger trailer on now!) but to be fair, I have emptied my bladder near other luminaries. I recall seeing Seth Green and thinking how small he was (NO, NOT A PART OF HIM ... ALL OF HIM!!! Damn fanbois with dirty minds!) when he was next to me (and I am not a tall Spirit).

But what were we talking about?

Oh, that I LOVED The Larry Sanders show!

I honestly dont think TWDC gives a rats about the peasants.

However... to address the question - I really dont know. However, Disney Springs leaked about a week or two before that was offically announced.

That info was leaked because it fit someone in the company's agenda to leak it. It also wasn't as big a deal as the person it leaked to claimed it was. It is, after all, just the rethinking of a mall.

I would guess that things may well come out leading up to D23. I just hope that the crazies don't spend the next two months speculating. What's going to happen is going to happen at this point. There won't be a last-minute huge announcement.

So ... still haven't seen Iron Man 3 ... but I think I'll catch Man of Steel this weekend!

On the other hand, The Walking Dead is easily accessible and has great production values. But I wouldn't be surprised to discover that it was written by monkeys. Not trained monkeys. Just monkeys clanking on a keyboard in between bouts of throwing poo. They will sneak a barely competent episode in there a couple times a season. But more often than not, the writing is offensively bad.

As a Walking Dead lover, I must agree with that. About one in every four episodes is what I'd call competent writing ... one in six might actually qualify as quality or good. I blame Kirkman who is ruling that roost with an iron fist and chasing showrunners away left and right. He also is basically a moody fanboi prick (is that acceptable here?) who feels he is much more talented than he actually is.
