Well not to derail such thrilling discussion as that revolving around hand-dryers in public bathrooms, but I was told today that DLR's iteration of the Endor speeder coaster is going to be outdoors...so that's something. Other than that, it was all stuff we already have discussed here.

The rumor has been that the speeder bike ride in DL would be along the pathway of the former Peoplemover/Rocket Rods. Theoretically, that could be enclosed, but could also be left outside for parts of the ride.

It makes me wonder how a similar ride would be set up in DHS. Would it be simple a self contained building? Or would it be similar to the DL layout and be an elevated ride going from building to building (I'd love it to be the later, actually, but expect the former).

Oh, and I was told to expect some deep budget cuts on the Star Wars (DLR & WDW) and door coaster (DLR) projects. If you can't do something right the first time, you must be Disney!

Sigh. Disappointing if true.

The Airblade is pretty low.

Another piece of equipment that is overpriced and underwhelming. It follows in the fine tradition of all Dyson products. If Billy Mays was still alive he'd be selling these on TV.

I can't imagine that DHS' version would be outdoors, but you never know I guess. Big Thunder is outdoors in Florida and it does okay. While the old Rocket Rods track may factor into the ride track somehow, the ride is too big just to be there. I suspect some if not all of Innoventions will be scrapped for the ride. Wouldn't surprise me if the old Autopia rumors come true as well and it's ditched.

I realize I'm not a trusted insider, so I don't expect to be treated as such. Just what I heard. Eat your salt.

With what they're spending wasting on Nextgen, they're being forced to prioritize. They picked plastic bracelets and and fastpasses for rides that don't need them over new attractions.

I don't have much experience with Dyson products besides my old roomate's vacuum cleaner (which was excellent), but the Airblade is a very nice system, far and away better than any other electric hand dryer I've used.

Any of the insiders hear anything about this info? @marni1971 @Lee @WDW1974 @articos @whylightbulb

You do not need any insider to tell you that. Of course it's going to be outdoors. It will be utilizing the peoplemover tracks.

Well, my question was more about the budget being cut.

Regarding the speeder bike, my impression is that it will not be using the Peoplemover/Ricket Rod tracks, but will be build along the same space -- that the tracks would have to be heavily rebuild or replaced entirely. If they are doing that and it is extensive, it's possible that they would build tracks that are fully enclosed for show purposes (traveling outside in TL IMHO would tend to break up the theme of travelling within the forests of Endor). But, the flip side is that having open tracks would be cheaper and so it makes it quite believable that TDA would go that route.

The overwhelming number of people that have used these devices consider them to be junk. To wit: http://www.amazon.com/Dyson-Airblad...iewpoints=1&sortBy=bySubmissionDateDescending

As one reviewer said, "My pants leg works better, and it's what I use when this is the only option."

Oh thank God. I always think I'm the only one who worries about these things, making me feel all paranoid and OCD.

Hand dryers blow the urine of previous visitors onto your hands. And you might as well not wash your hands if you are going to touch a bathroom exit door handle after. :hungover:

Ninety percent of men have the hygienic standards of a four year old.

You won't like this story: hand soap in some bathrooms could be more dirty than the toilet water, fecally speaking. http://news.yahoo.com/blogs/sidesho...y-be-dirtier-than-toilet-water-035839590.html

This just in, water is wet.

Aggghhh, it just keeps getting worse. I'm bringing more hand sanitizer with me.

The overwhelming number of people writing those reviews are full of crap and many of the complaints are either absurd or not the device's fault, from personal experience i've found those airblades work fantastically.

The only complaint I see there that has any sort of credibility is the poor drainage and water collecting around the area. And even that complaint has holes because #1- It's something that affects all hand dryers (none of which function anywhere close to as well as Dysons) and #2- It's easily prevented by basic bathroom cleaning (or some sort of drain and/or absorbing mat underneath). You're not going to get pools of nasty liquid like many of the reviewers say are occurring without there being inherent problems from the cleaning staff (at least not any company establishments that properly clean their bathrooms throughout the day as they're supposed to). You'd get the same problems with nasty toilets if they weren't cleaned regularly, but you don't see many idiots complaining about toilet brands when the cleaning staff aren't doing their jobs properly (or whoever is in charge of getting things cleaned).

The things work fantastically and get hands incredibly dry. Any review that says they don't work are either full of crap or got a defective one. I've also never been in any danger of banging into the sides (the force is enough to dry your hands but not enough to be a problem with holding them still), and my hands are quite large and I'm usually not good at holding them still. I'm also not sure of many people who use these without washing their hands first anyways (I can't see why anyone would be using these unless their hands were wet from washing them), so what's the big deal about having to slightly brush the sides of the device even if you suck at holding your hands still for a couple of seconds? It's quite common in a lot of public places that you're going to come into contact with a door, or something very shortly after washing your hands that is likely far filthier than that dryer was.

I've never liked hand dryers until these Dyson ones began to pop up all over the place. These are the first time they've ever worked in any proper manner and actually get your hands dry. The old ones suck and the sooner they're replaced by Dyson or similar ones the better.

When you're the leader, you don't have to follow.
I don't remember what network it was on, but a recent documentary/news show followed a family on a vacation and found the dirtiest (germiest) thing tested was children's hands. Next was roller coaster safety bars and hotel remote controls.
Sounds about right.

You beat me to it ... Henry.

Of course, I did tell everyone that Marvel was coming to HKDL many months ago. And, if it is anything like what we've seen so far, it should be high quality.

Interesting timing ... and giving the NYT what appear to be exclusive quotes... Brooks 'friendship' with Bruce Vaughn pays dividends. Although Staggs apparently is in HK ...

At least this should give you kids something to chat about. Things are dreadfully boring right now (like an episode of S.H.E.I.L.D.!)
