variety in one location... (your sushi comment doesn't have italian just a short stroll away..)
samplers vs full meals... (just like most food festivals)
there actually was a significant program of seminars at one point in it's past...

One of the other benefits is, if you use the DDP, the F&W is a great value for the snack credits. At this point, the DDP is overpriced and a waste IMHO, but there's actual potential for it to be a good deal if used during the F&W. I mean, you can get things that are as high as $6-7 for a snack credit, way better than using it for a bottle of water or ice cream.

Uh... I'm well aware of what happened in Florida. But your comparing buying undeveloped land in the 60s to buying developed urban properties in the age of online access to electronic records. Adding to that... In a vision of just buying whatever becomes available vs an agressive strategy
Exactly! There is no way Disney could pull that off today. .
The first time I saw Dyson hand dryer I thought it was neat. In a 2 stall restroom they work nicely, however when they are put in a large theme park bathroom they start to look scummy. With water pooled in the bottom and I am always paranoid of touching the sides. When it comes to raw hand drying power its all about the Xcelerator. They appear to be half the price as the Dyson's as well, these things BLOW and after using them my hands are actually dry. Another random pet peeve is no paper towels in a bathroom that has a door that pushes in.

There is a new dyson hand dryer that has no trough. It is much better.

When F&W was first introduced it was much more of a tasting experience than what it is today. There were less booths and was much more affordable. It was actually all over Epcot and not just WS as it is today. Anyone remember when they used to roast corn in front of The Land pavilion?

Now it has become one huge restaurant. No wonder they are expanding food offerings like F&W during Flower & Garden....makes me sick. BRING BACK THE KITE FESTIVAL...no...don't.

Hand dryers blow the urine of previous visitors onto your hands. And you might as well not wash your hands if you are going to touch a bathroom exit door handle after. :hungover:

OK, you are going to have to explain to me how that happens. Are people peeing on the hand dryer? It would seem to me that the hand dryer would be used AFTER they washed their hands or not at all. However, if you really would like to go off the deep end, how many times have your hands either accidentally or on purpose touched the bottom of your shoes to take them off or put them on. You might consider yourself lucky if all that there is on those is urine.

And taking your message one step further, you might as well not wash your hands if you are going to touch anything in anyplace at anytime. Enjoy!

Oh thank God. I always think I'm the only one who worries about these things, making me feel all paranoid and OCD.

Ninety percent of men have the hygienic standards of a four year old.
But vastly superior immune systems.

Most people don't wash their hands very well, and many don't use soap.

And yes, any surface can be contaminated.

But, I don't think I ever touch the bottom of my shoes, accidentally or otherwise. Maybe I'm putting them on wrong? I usually aim to have the bottom on the ground. ;)

Bet if you let yourself think about it...you will be surprised how many times you touched them. Or touched part of the ground, inside or out, that you may have touched as well. Or let a baby crawl on the very floor that the bottom of your shoes just trotted across. In my mind it is a huge waste of time or energy and self deception if anyone thinks that avoiding germs is possible or even wise.:joyfull:

Bet you I haven't. Don't assume everyone else has your sloppy habits. ;)

No, you can't avoid all bacteria - and nor would you want to. At the same time, small actions can minimize your risk of exposure to some of the worst germs such as fecal coliform.

I would suggest this is an important step to take as we move rapidly toward a post-antibiotic world, but I don't want to derail this thread any further; enjoy your shoes. :)

I don't know about hand blowers spewing urine on your hands or touching the bottoms of your shoes, but I always use hand sanitizer after I wash my hands in a public restroom. I use paper towels to turn off the faucet and open the door when I leave... and still use the HS. I love the public restrooms where you don't touch anything, not even the doors when you're done, like any good rest stop.

Sushi. Haines City--the most hick town I can think of in a 20-mile radius from WDW--has four sushi places! Not including Publix! Can mass produced sushi really be better than any other you can find around Orlando, or in your own hometown?

To be fair, I bet you a quarter at least two of those Haines City sushi were converted bait & tackle shops.

(old Polk County refugee speaking from experience, though it's been many years since I've been in east Polk)

Disney, please build something and save us from . . . this.
It has come to this.
A discussion about urine-spewing hand dryers.
Will it go lower? Can it?
Stay tuned.
Disney, please. Help. Do something.

Oh, it certainly could. We haven't even discussed magical potty accidents.... Like the little kid taking a poop behind the trash can near splash mtn in May.

Ugh.

The Airblade is pretty low.

Well not to derail such thrilling discussion as that revolving around hand-dryers in public bathrooms, but I was told today that DLR's iteration of the Endor speeder coaster is going to be outdoors...so that's something. Other than that, it was all stuff we already have discussed here.

Oh, and I was told to expect some deep budget cuts on the Star Wars (DLR & WDW) and door coaster (DLR) projects. If you can't do something right the first time, you must be Disney!
