Well you just described why Pleasure Island died....
This has been discussed to death and it wasn't because of teen thugs hanging around Pleasure Island. That's an urban myth perpetuated by @jt. (Say, whatever happened to @jt?)

I'm referring to the kids that would hang out around PI/Citywalk and just cause trouble.
This has actually been a recent problem at CityWalk which is directly across the street from Dr. Phillips High School. CityWalk has been offering free Saturday night DJ dances down by its waterfront and its been attracting the generally wealthier, generally white kids from the Dr. Phillips area as well as the generally poorer, generally black kids from Pine Hills, Oak Ridge and the L.B. McLeod areas. Sadly, they don't mix well.

Wow, a lot of posters went off on different tangents - far removed from WDW. Or US/IOA. Or anything Disney.

Or anything even remotely related to WDW News, Rumors, or observations.

Chip and pin was talking about NGE about it not being that safe kinda related to Disney.

With respect, discussing the dress codes and lack therefore of with Disney restaurants and resorts is relevant.

It may be uncomfortable to many but the rise if free dining, discounted room stays seems to reinforce the prevaling opinion and attitude that Disney is not interested in anything beyond your money.

It's my thought that if you spend $200 a night and its billed as a classy joint like the Grand fla or Yacht club, I expect a certain level of decorum from the guests.

Call it classism if you want but I'd much prefer my fellow guests to be dressed like they are in Herb Ryman's concept art.

The dress code really bothers me. For the signature dining at the resorts there should be dress code enforced. I will go farther in saying no children under 13 after 8pm. Give the adult dining some quiet time. Nothing worst than an over tired child at an expensive dining.

Disney could go as far an not allowing ADR after 8pm when someone types in number of children on the website.

When you're the leader, you don't have to follow.
I dunno. I see adults who dress and behave worse than their kids in WDW restaurants all the time.

You want a quality crowd at any time, have a quality menu that isn't dumbed down for the wifebeater-shirt-wearing crowd.
Nice. I like what you did there.

I deleted the numerous posts that were discussing the definition of "wife beater t-shirts" and which group of people wore them. One post with a quick definition for those who were unfamiliar with the term would have been enough. No problem with discussing the lack of dress code.

I visited DL in the 1990s and fell in love with the place. Some of EE's tweets reminded me of my first visit -- seeing the Matterhorn from a distance and that sort of thing.

I just went and read Epcot Explorer's Twitter feed and Instagrams from today. He seems absolutely overjoyed with Disneyland; Hans & Otto are climbing the Matterhorn, the Disneyland Band is playing on the bow of the Mark Twain (the very same boat Walt and Lillian had wedding anniversary parties on), he just rode the 16 minute long Pirates of the Caribbean and then rode Indiana Jones Adventure immediately after and it left him blabbering with joy, then encountered the giant dinosaurs on the Disneyland Railroad, etc., etc..

And of course it's one of those typically gorgeous SoCal summer days in Anaheim with cloudless blue skies, a light sea breeze, no humidity, and temps hovering around 78 degrees all afternoon. And he's now imploding into a quivering heap of Disney geek overload. Disneyland bags another one.

Where it will get interesting for him is when he returns to WDW and then looks at those parks with an entirely new point of reference.
