I don't think it bodes well for any political battles either.
Having lived a capitol city, worked for the government, dealt with politicians, I know how politics work.... I have to disagree with you. It's the same game whether it's Atlanta, Montgomery, Tallahassee, or Washington DC.

Political battles have NOTHING to do with legalities. Legalities have EVERYTHING to do with political battles.

I think the launch in The Hulk would have worked a lot better if the lift hill had dark ride components like The Mummy.
There are audio and lighting effects. I feel like that's the best they could do in the relatively small launch tunnel. It looks especially cool at night.

I just read some fascinating information...

Did you know that during the year 2000, WDW launched TWO major investment initiatives. The first evolved into what is known today as NextGen.

The second, well, I'll let you read it for yourself. It's what I've been saying and few here believed me.

The whole article is interesting, but the part I'm referring to starts at the eleventh paragraph.

This exactly. The only full casinos are on Indian reservations (technically a sovereign nation). Of course, we also have jai lai frontons (sp?), dog tracks and horse tracks with poker rooms or sometimes slots attached, literally dozens if not hundreds of lottery tickets sold at every grocery or convenience store I can think of, boats in Florida ports that open up full casinos 6 miles out to sea ... so I can understand the confusion.

I would say there is potential for a ride like Potter with some movement flexibility within show scenes. The movement can be quick and feel powerful. When I think of The Hulk coaster currently, I can't help but think it would be better suited for Iron Man, where flight is underscored. In short I just think The Hulk is a great character that could really deliver if done differently.

Oooo I agree, the exact same ride could work for IM just replace banner's voice with Jarvis. I am really surprised that they didn't try to do more with X-Men/Wolverine

Wouldn't a picture of a buried monorail footer (supposedly removed for Mission:Space anyway) just look like any plot of empty land?

....

maybe that is the point... *whispers* They Exist.

On a completely different but similar tangent, the sun is setting on the day of the monorail and large train based transit. Okay I exaggerated they still have many years to go, but the future of high speed trains is probably dead. In America I think we will prefer self driving cars. The infrastructure and roads are already there and we all like our personal space.

How did this turn into a footer discussion? That article doesn't even mention the word! It does mention that PLANS existed and were underway up until 9/11 for inclusion of the other two parks into the system and for a new light rail system to cover the rest of the property!

Some people here have been yelling quite vocally that such plans never existed. That simply isn't true.

The driverless car is probably coming and will indeed be a game-changer, but highway infrastructure is never going to be adequate to meet demand, and it will remain woefully congested in urban areas. No one mode of transportation can meet all transit needs; Passenger rail (commuter, high-speed, and long distance) will be increasingly important to maintain a fluid transportation network in America.

To stay even remotely op topic, consider a Walt Disney World example. Any theme park would be hopelessly congested for hours at park closing if every party leaving the park had to be picked up by a driverless car, as opposed to the monorails touted "20,000 passengers per hour" existing capacity.

Oh, quite the opposite. In Europe, many countries have built up national systems over the past few decades. Now, the EU has a program to unify these national systems and are spending tens of billions of Euros annually to expand and improve the system. China is spending hundreds of billions of dollars a year building their national system. Russia is even investing in it and already years ahead of the US. Japan continues to invest billions of dollars annually. Israel is constructing a high speed rail line linking Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, and has approved plans for constructing new lines linking the rest of the country. Several Arab states announced plans to build extensive high speed rail networks in their respective nations.

The US is fumbling behind and California needs to get their act straight. It's embarrassing that we are so far behind much of the World, while we should be leading!

Dude, no one said plans don't exist. I've posted some myself. There was a thread somewhere here 5-6 years ago for the LRT proposal.

He was a higher level guy at XM Radio that went on to work with Oprah Winfrey's OWN network. Very Funny from when he would call into to some of the talk shows.

I should have remember that name. I worked for XM satellite Radio from 2001 to 2005. Actually I do. He was the one I had to contact to get into the private concert for Phil Collins at XM in 2004.
