The overwhelming number of people writing those reviews are full of crap and many of the complaints are either absurd or not the device's fault, from personal experience i've found those airblades work fantastically.

The only complaint I see there that has any sort of credibility is the poor drainage and water collecting around the area. And even that complaint has holes because #1- It's something that affects all hand dryers (none of which function anywhere close to as well as Dysons) and #2- It's easily prevented by basic bathroom cleaning (or some sort of drain and/or absorbing mat underneath). You're not going to get pools of nasty liquid like many of the reviewers say are occurring without there being inherent problems from the cleaning staff (at least not any company establishments that properly clean their bathrooms throughout the day as they're supposed to). You'd get the same problems with nasty toilets if they weren't cleaned regularly, but you don't see many idiots complaining about toilet brands when the cleaning staff aren't doing their jobs properly (or whoever is in charge of getting things cleaned).

The things work fantastically and get hands incredibly dry. Any review that says they don't work are either full of crap or got a defective one. I've also never been in any danger of banging into the sides (the force is enough to dry your hands but not enough to be a problem with holding them still), and my hands are quite large and I'm usually not good at holding them still. I'm also not sure of many people who use these without washing their hands first anyways (I can't see why anyone would be using these unless their hands were wet from washing them), so what's the big deal about having to slightly brush the sides of the device even if you suck at holding your hands still for a couple of seconds? It's quite common in a lot of public places that you're going to come into contact with a door, or something very shortly after washing your hands that is likely far filthier than that dryer was.

I've never liked hand dryers until these Dyson ones began to pop up all over the place. These are the first time they've ever worked in any proper manner and actually get your hands dry. The old ones suck and the sooner they're replaced by Dyson or similar ones the better.

If they are so great and you're the only one who seems to be backing this up, why did they completely re-engineer the whole dryer. The new air blade looks and acts nothing like its predecessor.. Excelerator dryers are still the best, they take longer but are much more sanitary. and the first dyson I would not be able to use without touching, no matter how hard i try.

I think you may underestimate HK residents actually...it's not like mainland Chinese

Sorry, I guess I should have clarified. I also meant that they are not likely to complain because it is a clone of Star Tours. Has nothing to do with mainland versus non-mainland China. Chinese folks, mainland or not are NOT nearly as critical of Disney then people in America. Please direct me to a website that shows an outpouring of concern over the cheaper "lands" that were built compared to what was originally planned.

I like how everyone has turned to complaining about hand dryers when the cell phone you put to your face is one of the dirtiest objects you can possess...

Yep. That's the version I've been hearing about for a little while. Not 100% sure that version is greenlit, though

No, it won't. If they go with the outdoor version, it will replace Autopia..

Your only saying that because you read today's Miceage update. No disrespect intended but this time I'm gonna take a wait and see.

In terms of the info on Miceage with Star Wars, I think the Tokyo D23 is going to shed some light on it since Bob Iger and Thomas Staggs will be there this weekend. I know the Tokyo D23 is from October 12th October 14th. If there is WDW stuff for Star Wars, I wouldn't be shocked if it is going to announced at the same time as Disneyland's and Tokyo Disneyland is going to be.

It will certainly be interesting to see what information is announced at the Tokyo D23. I'm not expecting information specifically about California or Florida, but it's possible and even likely that information announced for Japan is going to be relevant for US projects.

Seems like a lot of folks (most who will never set foot in HKDL) are about the 'look' of the new Iron Man Experience based on one piece of very preliminary art. Seems weak considering how weak most renderings from WDI are these days.

Of course, @KevinYee had a nice start (don't feel it was a complete effort) today on lack of civility in the Disney fan community. I liked his comparing what he sees to the partisan crap (we really are a nation as divided as we have ever been in the modern era) of politics. Look, we post on a site that is afraid to have the smallest mention of anything political, even when it is pertinent to the Mouse. You can't post about the GAC beccoming something that isn't a kid with a peanut allergy means six people can cut lines and ride as much as they please card because many folks lack the intellectual capacity to debate/argue like adults.

It's funny that in a PC era, one where we are told how we're supposed to feel about people and things, that folks are nastier than ever in some respects. In others, not so much. I do recall the old RADP and ADD newsgroups.

I think one HUGE reason why people in the community are so angry or ornery is the fact that the rise of social media means there's MONEY on the line for many folks in the community. Before blogs and podcasts and Lou Mongello, that simply didn't exist.

Another reason is very simply WDW management itself. When you are dealing with a company that you have grown (most would say an unnatural) pull to, you might not like it when they constantly screw you and your family while telling you to have a MAGICal day or night or welcoming you home.

Can't comment on this. Sorry. Nothing's anywhere near final on this, however.

I am glad someone said that (beyond me). Everything I have heard is that the exact plans for Star Wars remain in flux, which is why Monstropolis got funding first. I just read Miceage's take and I am not at all sure that much of that is what will actually happen. I think they are rushing columns now to compensate for Al's absence.

I am very curious as to who is paying for this attraction. The recent wave of expansions were financed 100% by The Walt Disney Company because the Government of Hong Kong felt they were cheated on the initial build out of the park. I'm wondering if the financing for this now follows the ownership or is still a special arrangement.

I already have notes out on that. ...Disney did finance the three new lands all on its own to the tune of over $900 million. This, while less costly, isn't cheap and that doesn't include the two new parades HKDL is getting or another attraction that likely is coming soon (not E-Ticket).

Hasn't someone (maybe Screamscape?) been selling this version for a while?

And replacing Autopia always makes me pause because kids still LOVE it ... it is as relevent today as it was when Old Dead Guy Walt was around ... and while it would be easy to remove in place like O-Town or Tokyo, at DL it is all interconnected infrastructure and it will be a tough and pricey build.

Here is the thing. The theme for the HK Iron Man attraction does not matter. For the most part guests who visit do not know it is (based on concept art) a clone of Star Tours. THey are not fully aware of the immersive theming Disney is capable of executing. To them it is a new "exciting" ride. This ride will probably never be cloned at any US Disney theme park (or Tokyo). They see it as new exciting eye candy while we see it as a boring and poorly themed clone. This is actually good for HKDL even though it is not what it could or should be.

I am willing to bet that Disney is not paying for this and if they are it is a small percentage.

Next.

I would disagree with that. Hong Kong is one of the most cosmopolitan cities anywhere. And the park is quite immersive and detailed and getting more so all of the time. I think folks are jumping to a lot of conclusions based on one piece of artwork.

As to it appearing elsewhere, I don't think it will. The SAR has made it very clear that they want unique attractions and I am thrilled. You have no idea how badly Disney has tried to foist TSMM on them.

If today's Miceage update is accurate - I read it as no new announcements for WDW in the foreseeable future. Only for CA and Tokyo. Nice. Real nice. Thank God Universal is on the ball and do enough expansion and projects for both resorts. I don't see myself renewing my Disney AP in the next 10 years at this rate.

Relax. Take a deep breath. Star wars is coming to both CA and FL, and I would be shocked if it weren't announced at the same time and built on a similar timeline.

Why do I feel like I am playing with myself here?

(not that there is anything wrong with that)

Are all you fanbois finishing your Tuesday night Domino's special so you can watch the dull as paint drying S.H.I.E.L.D.?

It's definitely mediocre concept art, that's for sure. I was hoping for a bit beyond Star Tours 3.0, but never the less it is a very good attraction that would compliment HKDL nicely and is not a retread of what's already available at Tokyo.

Spirit, if they didn't want clones, why include Toy Story play land in the first place at all?

Is the HKDL Iron Man going into Tommorrowland there? Or is it going into a new "land" (e.g. a Marvel centric one)? It sounds like it is going into TL, but I thought there was plans for a fully fleshed out Marvel area for HK.

Tomorrowland. On the pad that was set aside for Star Tours. And, yes, there was talk about an entire mini land.

Autopia wouldn't bother me too much...but shortening and tightening up the monorail route? Court of Angels would be nothing compared to that loss...
