that's not the reason they aren't doing an Iron Man 4. It has more to do with the fact RDJ is expensive and they already have him locked in for 2 more Avengers movie and they want to give that franchise a break to focus on other properties. To me this was understood but Kevin Feige even said as much. There will be more Iron Man movies with a new actor eventually but right now Iron Man will be in the Avengers and they will continue to focus on bringing more characters to the big screen like Guardians of the Galaxy, Big Hero 6, and Ant-Man.

You are saying the same thing. RDJ being expensive has to do with the costs of making a film. That salary is one reason why there will not be any more. And they will not recast as long as they are popping out Avengers sequels.

A reboot of Iron Man may well be 7-10 years away.

Is one option of getting more people come and visit to build more new attractions? Would be nice if the "no new attractions until 2022" rumour turns out to be false.

I think part of their problem is the bizzare pricing structure they have. If you want to stay at one of their hotels you have to pay rates that are even more ridiculous than the GF at WDW. But then they offer all kind of discount deals, but they are different for all European countries. For example currently I could get 30% off through the UK website, 200 € off through the German website and 40% off through the French website. But I am free to book through any website that I wish to use...

And then they do have all kind of deals for one day tickets and there are some very affordable APs and there are discounts for AP holders to bring their friends in for a very low price.

I think they would be able to attract more people who are going to leave money in the parks on food and merchandise if they had a more reasonable pricing structure. At the moment it seems like they make the first time visitor pay through the nose while the regulars get the best deals.

DLP will not go until 2022 without any new attractions. It will close up first. This isn't Orlando and that park is overdue for new. Although that Rat ride in the Studios should help drive attendance for a while.

@WDW1974 perhaps you know more on the topic... When Steve Burke left Disney for Comcast was it bad terms or just a better opportunity for his career? I was going to PM about this but I suppose its potentially worthy discussion here.

Not exactly sure, but I know he had a relatively good and close relationship to Michael ...but he never really had a role that he could settle into and put his stamp on. Despite his dealings at Comcast, he never was a big parks guy while at Disney either.UNI fanbois don't quite get that. He only saw the light on how good they could be very recently.

I am just confused, I am on my college program and I haven't heard a think about the 40% off. I've looked everywhere. I would love to know more about it since it's my birthday and my friends and I are planning on going out to dinner tonight.

Happy B-Day and hope you were able to go somewhere special!

Soooo, did I see right way back there that theres another free blogger cruise coming up for the Magic? Anyone know the dates? My schedule is open.

That is what the poster who 'alleges' to be Mrs. Ricky says (no, I still don't believe that was her at all).

But I think I'll take my own cruise on the MAGIC ...one that Disney doesn't pay for.

On Miceage in reference to changes in DL's Tomorrowland, they alluded to the recent WDI playtesting and a "rowdy night in a Tatooine Cantina." Any additional info you can share on that? From what I read elsewhere, it didn't sound like we here in Anaheim were getting Mos Isley Cantina (though I wish we would to replace Pizza Port). Could this be some other interactive "show" going into the EO theater or TL Terrace?

I would assume you will see the Cantina concept in both California and Florida as part of the Star Wars projects.

Spirited Wednesday Musings:

It's always a MAGICal day when cruise docs find their way into your mailbox.:)

A friend pointed me in the direction of the Disney and More blog today as they have a piece up that claims Carsland for TDR is also DOA. I never thought it would happen originally anyway, but checked with someone who would know and they confirmed it.

Allain at the site claims it will be replaced by a Fantasyland addition and expansion, but I can't help but believe that The Force is headed over there as well. They have the most impressive Star Tours attraction, including showbuilding, and a Tomorrowland that is a mess. I wonder if that is what Iger and Staggs are doing at Japan's first D23 Expo in three or so weeks.

I do not think the GAC thread should have been closed. I saw no nastiness and only one person taking things way too personally. It is news and we should be allowed to talk about news, even if some folks are hypersensitive. No one was yelling 'shoot the cripples' ... As to the fact that not everyone's disability or individual circumstances will be covered, my response would only be 'that's a shame for them, and I hope they can still use the new one.'

I can't help but feel that the GAC situation has sorta devolved into an anything goes stew of deceit and unfairness that harms the neediest anyway. It is akin to going out to dinner with a difficult (cringeworthy) relative, friend or associate who believes they are in their own private kitchen and expects the restaurant (whether McD's or 5 star cuisine) to make everything special for them, not one special request or dietary restriction, but literally creating a whole new menu. Some folks can't dine out. Some can't do theme parks. To expect Disney to cater to every bizarre condition and need (or made up need) out there is simply ridiculous.

In case this isn't on the UNI board, they are opening the Studios at 8 a.m. Now on HHNs.

I did not think much of FOX's ballyhooed new comedies last night. Hey, Andy, should have stuck with SNL.
I liked Brooklyn Nine Nine - the pilot wasn't great, but I can see the potential. And at least Andy, Keev, and Jorm gave us a new Lonely Island album a couple months back.

One Little Spark...
Also still no mention of A release date for Star Wars, but I have a feeling it will be pushed back as well...
I hope you are right. Unless they are sitting on a very solid concept with good writers, I really don't want to see them rush out something that resembles a Mike Bay film trying to "appease" the market. We can wait for an amazing SW movie, wouldn't you agree?

Definately worth the wait...I'm ed about finding dory being pushed back so far, but excited tht the Maleficent movie got pushed up! That is my favorite Disney villian and I'm glad she's getting her own movie!

One I'm excited about as well (as long as it looks good). My mom made a costume of Maleficent that she wore every Halloween while I was growing up. So, while not my favorite Disney villain, it is hers, and I'll certainly treat her to a trip to see it!

Agreed. We are all adults here, there's no reason to still "babysit" the forum like that.

Plus, closing threads just seems so... 2003 era messageboard.

Cooking the Books is what's happening.

The folks at Pixar still have control over their projects and still refuse to release something they're not ready to release.

As Pixar films move through production, more people from different parts of Pixar join the effort to get the work done - people who had been working on other projects.

It's great in that it gives nearly everyone a role in every project. The downside is, it can have a domino effect... so if one film gets pushed back, the next can get pushed back as well. So, dinosaur gets pushed back and that has a domino effect on Dory.

Thank you! We ended up at Outback Steakhouse (can't beat their new endless shrimp deal). We decided to go off-property since it's cheaper and I've been so busy with work that I didn't have time to research the discounts and try and make reservations for a party of 12. I had a fantastic day though, so thank you!

Disney thinks like an American company. They have segmentalised Europe into distinct markets and demographies. To which they direct very different marketing and pricing efforts.

However, European Union law (Hurray for the EU - the greatest thing to ever happen to Europe. Yes, I'm serious) prohibits price discrimination between countries. The consumer can always demand the lowest price they give another nationality. (Simplified) So you can shop around at different national DLP websites - provided you speak the language...

For DLP, lowest price is commonly France. I always buy my tickets and AP's at the French site. For WDW, the British WDW website is usually the best. The euro is still pretty strong against the pound, so maybe WDW compensates by giving great packages on their British website.
