Guest spending, Guest spending, Guest spending. Uni is kicking WDW butt in this area.
In all seriousness, are there numbers to back that up? I do notice the Potter stuff is a big draw, but for the life of me, I did not see anything at USF that made me think they were doing business that outpaced the MK. Is the guest spending thought of as a whole (2 parks versus 4) or just an observation. Like I said, I am curious because I still see a lot of kids twisting mom and dads arm for Disney stuff (but I also admit, the Potter stuff is Crazy - My girls have 2 or 3 wands each 8).

While we continue on the path of what UNI is doing versus WDW, here is a nugget. A certain Marching Band is heading down to WDW next Spring. They will be doing a day at MK, AK, EPCOT, and (wait for it) IOA. So much for our friends at DHS. That will be over 200 kids and families leaving property to spend a day (and $$) at UNI.

No on the first part. Also, realize that for the resorts currently using the bands it is not considered a test, even if guests are unwilling (or willing) lab rats.

Star Wars expansion has absolutely moved to the head of development projects for both DL and WDW. DLR projects will be announced this fall. I am guessing so will WDW, but can't say for certain.

it does appear that Cars Land has moved from 'happening' to 'doubtful' in the swamps and ...oh, and in an ironic twist the expansion pad at HKDL that was set aside for Star Tours since opening will be getting an Avengers attraction using sim tech.

Will the DL and WDW projects be identical across the board? I'm assuming they are but would be very happy to hear otherwise.

DVC is selling fixed weeks at the Grand Floridian. I am assuming this is not just for convenience to have a fixed week during the busy holidays, but also a way to make sure DVC members go to FLA. annually.

Of. Course they are.

Problem #1 with DVCers: they are starting to use their units as true vacation homes and not go go WDW parks and not dine in WDW restaurants. Oh, and they are visiting other area attractions.

Problem #2 with DVCers: many are opting to NOT even use the points at WDW at all.

Right, using duck tape to tape a camera to the train is using specificaly designed equipment? I've personally seen them sneak cameras on rides and tape their cameras to the train. One park was very unhappy as the duck tape he used actually damaged the paint of the brand new coaster car!

Trust me, stay away from themeparkreview. The owner of the website is a convicted felon who somehow managed to make it on WDW media list and gets invites to all the events.

I don,t know anything about said individual. But I am waiting for the first Lifestyler to be arrested on sexual crimes involving kids. It will happen. And Disney will act shocked and appalled and distance itself , but the damage will be done.

I didn't know that about the owner of TPR.

I do know, however, that the WDW media list has had a couple of regulars who aren't convicted felons only because they haven't been caught...

One Little Spark...
If you can't see what Disney is doing right and doing wrong and discuss it honestly...then you should listen to this song, as it is your theme song...

Disney is moving towards very lazy management, very poor quality, and maximized profits...they are making several boardroom "good" decisions, that really do nothing for the parks or the Guest Experience...

So, here is your theme song...

This is to all the haters who think Disney stinks (it doesn't), but also to those wise enough, who love the brand and concept enough...to see that it is not what it was...

Cheers.

Glad to see Disney Infinity went off without a......whoops! Download your patch today! All of this hype and they could not deliver a basic (compared to other games and gaming consoles) game that is a blatant rip-off of another popular game franchise.

That isn't exactly abnormal for any largely marketed game anymore. One of the best games of the year, "The Last of Us" had the same kind of problem at launch. The game would randomly decide not to let the player save or autosave and the only resolve was to turn it off, and hope the glitch didn't occur again. Like Infinity, it was patched shortly after the problem was brought to the attention of the devs.
