I had never heard of 'human geography' until today...

I thought we called that history or anthropology...
Hah. I took AP Human Geography... It was worthless and I still laugh about it 7 years or well guess I was a freshman when I took it in 2002 so now 11ish years ago... yikes, didn't realize it had been that long. But yeah it was a lot of anthro with a little bit of actually being able to read a map thrown in. It's actually quite amazing how many people don't know where things are. Saw a study on the news once about how poorly people do with locations and over 50% of people couldn't even pick New York out on a map o_O.

I had to google it. Thought it might be Anatomy.

Seems like it's Geography (without too much focus on that pesky map stuff.)

I laugh about it today because geography was by far the easiest class I ever took in college. I mean.. it was like 8th grade maps... multiple choice tests.. etc. It was the only thing I did in college where I actually had to color something!

Engineering majors didn't have much respect for our general ed or liberal arts classes :) When you get slammed trying just to get a 70 on a test to get a B or an A... and then you go into a class with a 50 question multiple choice test.. and get a 98.. you can't help but think they are a joke :)

It's funny you mention this, because my first "history" class in college when I went back (in 2007) was basically a repeat of my 7th grade class at Key Middle School in NOVA.

history for me was.. listen to lectures... and then try to fill as many of the essay books as you can in the allotted time as a your test :)

My grandfather was a college professor, as was I for a while...he used to say "high school teaches you what to think, college teaches you how to think"

Well, now I think college has become both. Especially based upon the poor quality of college grads I've had the displeasure of interviewing and employing.

For me personally I'm still not over the war of 1812;). The Beatles definitely helped, but any good will they provided was squashed by the Spice Girls.
Yeah, what was the deal with that Beckham guy and the Spice Girl announcing they were coming to America? They got themselves in all the papers and stuff...like it was a big deal, when really there wasn't anyone who cared they were coming here. That was weird.

I think he was a soccer player and the Spice Girl was his wife or girlfriend. Strange duo, wanting everyone to know about their arrival!

The Brits could have kept them! Still, love the Brits!

It's football. If you call it soccer they won't know what you are talking about.;)
