...can we make this movie look ANY MORE AWESOME!!!!!

I thought this was a terrific trailor to get me real hyped about the movie.

Sorry Freak, I guess I'm too big a fan to be let down on this one. I'll be first in line.

Don't get me wrong...I'll see it...I was just hoping for a more "realistic" movie...and what I saw...was "fake looking" computer animation (and you can't honestly say that you thought Hulk swinging the tank around looked even REMOTELY real?)

I dunno, for one...I'm not a big fan of CGI...it's okay if done correctly but I just don't feel that the technology is QUITE up to where it needs to be. There were scenes in Spider-man that I thought looked too fake looking too (for example...when he is jumping from building to building before he tries web-swinging for the first time).

I don't mind the CGI Hulk...but at LEAST have something real about him...even the tanks he threw were all CGI. How hard would it have been to have a real tank? Grr...I'm sorry, I am just venting because I thought this movie was gonna really impress me (which it still may) and it looks like it's gonna just annoy me because I'll be realizing how it looks fake.

(Here's a perfect example...ET Special Edition...you see the "REAL" E.T. and then you see the CGI E.T. (which looks better?) Yes, the CGI has more movement and fluidity but you can still tell it's fake)

I think it's a little too soon to judge. The best thing about the clip was it looked like the Comic Books. I thought there were many parts of Spider Man that were obviously CG, but it was still a great movie. They're getting better, but it's still extremely difficult to make a 10 foot tall 1000 pound green irradiated mutant creature throwing a tank look like a real 10 foot tall 1000 pound green irradiated mutant creature.

Yeah, I understand what you mean (welcome back by the way :) ). I hope it's good...I really do...but for a main character to be completely CGI throughout the entire movie scares me. (Although, if I saw a real 10 foot tall 1000 pound green irradiated mutant creature...it would scare me too :hammer: )

Thanks!

The Fantastic Four was always my favorite and the Hulk was my second favorite, so I just hope by the time they do the Fantastic Four, the Thing looks like a real walking pile of rocks (he's probably easier to animate in some ways since he has rigid surfaces).

It's weird, but the closer characters get to human, the more fake they look. The scene in Attack of the Clones with Anakin riding on the back of that big, pig thing looked extremely fake, but Yoda looked pretty good. We just saw the Two Towers, and while golum didn't look real at all, the animation was amazing, and it fit his character.

Part of the problem with the Hulk preview may also be that they showed such quick, action filled clips, that you didn't see him just walking across the room. That will be the real test.

YEAH...you're right...I didnt' think of that...and that pic you posted looks extremely well done. (Oh, and I think that scene of AotC is the worst too  )

I know what you guys mean. Like in Spider-Man, when he's going after the Burglar and he jumps facing the screen and even his shirt pulls up a bit revealing his stomach? SO FAKE! It almost looked like a PC game or something. Maybe you guys had a better position to judge the Hulk, since you saw on TV and I only saw this tiny little web trailer. But even though it managed to hype me (like Spidey), I still feel he looks rubbery and part of Monsters Inc. or something... But come on, Freak, the tank throwing WAS cool! :p

Sheesh Rowdy Roddy

Keep in mind also that there are nearly 5 full months left until release. If the story or actors suck, there's not much you can do at this point, but computer graphics can be refined and polished right up to the end.

Well if it makes you feel any better, consider it from my perspective. A year or two before you were born, I had something very similar to the following conversation with my friend Kenny who's brother was a semi-professional bodybuilder:

Kenny: Did you hear they're making an "Incredible Hulk" movie for TV?

Me: Seriously!? That's great! What do you know about it.

Kenny: This guy, Lou Ferrigno (pointing to photo in a body building magazine) is going to play him.

Me: (looking at photo) Well this guy is big, but he's not Hulk. Only Hulk is Hulk. Hulk is strongest one there is!

Kenny: Let's see how they do it.

Me: Yeah.

After watching it, I was very disappointed. There were no tanks or helicopters. No Thunderbolt Ross, just Lou Ferrigno painted green, running in slow motion with green caterpillers for eyebrows.

No matter how this movie looks, I'm willing to bet it's the best Hulk movie ever made. I've been waiting 26 years.

Point well taken :) (and it wasn't even Bruce Banner  )

I think Gary hit the Nail on the Head, after Hulk the TV series, this movie will be fantastic. Partly Spider-man was so good because of all the past live incarnations of him. I don't mind a dab of unrealism to the main characters (they aren't real after all) as long as substance, story, and feel of the Title Character are all there. I think the Tank Flinging was the most awesome part of the trailor, but it seems it's the part Brian disliked the most. I suppose from a reality point, it was inferior, but from the things I've always wanted to see the Hulk do list, one just got checked off, and for me that is mega pluses for the movie. :D
