Freak, read up above, this movie was fairly recent, and was only made to keep the rights to the franchise, it was never released to the public, and may never be, unless it's an extra on a FF DVD some day. It was never meant to be taken seriously.

I know bud, I was just saying...it looks cheesy

But...it was the Amazing Spider Friends were... Spider-man, Iceman, and there was a girl that could fly and turn into fire (kinda like a female human torch)

Wasn't her name Firestar? She had the power of Micro-waves if I remember right. I bet MKCustodial would know right away.

Well he is a rock, so I guess standing still is what rocks do best. For all we know if rocks moved they may in fact wrinkle. :brick: :p

Yeah...I think they kept her around because she could pop popcorn in 2 1/2 minutes or less :)

You may be right about her power and name...Firestar does sound familiar (was she in a comic book?)

No comic. For some reason people felt they needed to invent totally new characters for hero cartoons back then. Some were ok, like Firestar and FireStorm from the Justice League. But remember the Wonder Twins  ... they turned into the craziest things... form of "a toothpick", form of a "Llama". "Great Sis, we turned into stuff, but now what?" Let's try again... form of "a pail of water", form of "an old janitor". "where's Glip, the blue monkey?"

 ok...I don't understand ONE thing from that post... but coming from the outside...it's an extremely funny post

(I'm guessing the Wonder Twins were shapeshifters like Mystique but wasn't limited to things that were their general size)

Yeah, that's the worst thing about cartoons and films up until recently. The TV and film executives always seem to think they can "improve" on the characters Stan Lee created, and they add their mark by really screwing things up.

Well, the digital kids have grown up with comics and now they are the ones producing this stuff, that's the difference in the quality aspect, and in viewers as well, the movie going audience today are just like the people producing these movies so well. Not that other generations didn't have comics, it's just the "MTV" generation who has been almost surrounded by Media Biz all there life and they want accurate hi-quality reincarnations of their heros.

You got it right, Spidey. She's also a mutant. She used to be part of the Hellfire Club and later joined the New Warriors. She even got to the Avengers at one point. Nowadays I don't know what she's up to.

Oh, and she didn't have anything to do with Herbie, there were decades between the 2 shows... That one just doesn't have any excuse. :brick: But they did use the idea on M2's Fantastic Five. Remember Spidey, in Spider-Girl's comic?

I LOVE Spider-Man and His Amazing Friends. I have a VHS with 2 episodes featuring Kraven and the Green Goblin. The thing I never bought in that is their "secret HQ" inside Aunt May's house, and how they all had to pay her rent!! One detail that I find interesting is that Firestar in her secret identity looks INCREDIBLY like MJ... And Iceman had a recurring date that I WANT to say was Gwen, but I can't remember...

And about Iceman, he's got a more prominent role in X-Men 2, and there are new pictures available. I just hate Nightcrawler (even though I like Alan very much).

Come on, Freak, you GOTTA remember the Wonder Twins! They we part of the "Superfriends"! You know, I never liked DC, and if I ever did I'd hide myself in a whole just because of that show!!

There was a Web Cartoon Cartoons made a while back with the WT... If you search around cartoonnetwork.com you might find it. They actually turned them into useful heroes.

Well, here is proof positive that I know my stuff... sometimes. I didn't even realize Firestar was a real Marvel Character, but it appears I got the rest right, oh well. None the less, there were some characters that were made up in those days.

Yep, the paper advertisment, if spidey ever moved out..."fully furnished apartment with secret lab built in for all your super heroing needs".

Oh, it's been a while, I remember the episode with the Electricity guy who brought the video game characters to life. One was like a 2-D Pac-man who was eating everything in sight.

It sure was funny! Remember Ms. Lion, the dog?

The ones I have: Kraven makes the dinosaur dislpays in the museum come to life, and GG wants to turn everyone into Goblin people using his formula in the city's water supply!!! Because that's why Osborn can't remember he's the Goblin, you know? He ACTUALLY transforms into the Goblin!!!!

Yep, I remember the dog.

Even the newer cartoon series has a different GG story. The Hobgoblin is actually first, and the green goblin suit is a hobgoblin suit that is exposed to chemicals and turns green. I found that odd as well, but that cartoon is still alot better, and the stories make sense the way they are presented in the cartoon.

I'm trying to remember now what it was. I clearly remember Stan Lee responding to angry comments about Herbie by saying "We couldn't use the Human Torch because the rights to his character had been licensed to someone else". I remeber seeing some cartoon (maybe a few years later) and thinking "That must have been the one he was talking about" I remember something with a version of the Hulk and some other characters (was there a Human Torch?) I also remember something with a kid who turned into the Thing, but everything is all run together. I can't remember any of the details clearly or what ran when.

Argh....I'm glad that Iceman has a more prominent role...but are you saying that you hate the way Nightcrawler looks??? or just his character??? Please post where these pics are available because I'd love to see the "real life" Nightcrawler (he's one of my faves)

Oh my... what awful garbage to remember. :p

I think the show was called "the Thing" (with the boy).

Now the Hulk cartoon did run with another show, but heck if I remember what. Don't remember a human torch though, in that one. There was an old android Human Torch way back in the day.

Hey, wasn't Conan a Marvel Character, that was made into a decent movie for the time period.
