Spaceship Earth Soundtrack....!!!

While I still feel that the 94 Spaceship Earth score (and narration) are two of the best things to ever be in Epcot, the current score has really grown on me. I love the main theme that they play outside the building and at the beginning of the descent (you know before it gets extremely boring ;) ). And I think all of the music fits the attraction very well. While the script of the narration makes me roll my eyes, Dench could be a good voice for the attraction if she had the same material Irons had.

Has anyone ever tried listening in the other languages, I tried each one the other day for the first time since being given the option to do so, well now isn't that sad:eek:

Gepettotrevor - I do have a newer copy, however, it's not as "Clean" as the one from the previews. It just has some background noise in it. I'll see what I can do!

Awesome, that would be great.

I believe you are right....Although, I LOVED Irons, but in retrospect, his voice was a tad edgy. Dench is much calmer, and if her narration was as stellar as the others in the past, we would have one of the components for a better SSE.

(The others include a audible BGM and a decent that actually shows something.:lookaroun:lol:)

Each one? Amazing!!!! Anyone who has that much time in EPCOT is a hero. I'm learning spanish so i've tried riding in spanish. It is really awesome how the whole ride is narrated in differant languages instead of having subtitles. It fits one the themes of SSE very well: global communication.

Yah, I agree with you. I loved the Irons narration. I also love the updated feel of the Dench one. I feel that new script made the ride more understandable to a broader age range. Now younger riders can understand more than before (ABC's....). If anything, it's easier to pick out the educational material out (an original goal of EPCOT).

Never thought of it like that. Interesting. Those lines aren't that bad, I believe their flaw is in the delivery.:lookaroun

More directly factual...yes. But...as alluded to, the delivery may not have the same inspirational impact. Always consider the three prongs of the Epcot-Trident: Entertain, Inform, & Inspire.

You don't have to tell me about the IIE.;)

I'm just saying that they could do both..o or even all three if they said Let's try.;) They did it in the 80's. 90's too.

Nice Avvie (as always) by the way.

This is fantastic. I tried doing this soon after I first heard the new audio but was unable to get it right.

I do enjoy the current soundtrack but the Iron's version is just too spectacular.

This guy is so right. Thank you. Well said. I couldn't have stated this better.:)

Bruce Broughton composed the original score to the hit movie Home Alone. Columbus, the director, found it so inappropriate HE THREW IT OUT!!! Then they brought in John Williams to do the one we know today. Pay attention here imagineers!

Exactly! The new one is really very good, it's just inaudible. WDI REALLY needs to "plus" the audio. It exemplifies the ride and the theme SO well. Even now.

And even with some "enhancements":lookaroun

But the old audio is still one of the CLASSIC DISNEY things that captured the EPCOT Sprit and made one of those magical Moments and memories for me, and I think MANY people on these boards. It's a shame we had to loose it . WDI could have easily kept it with the new narration.

I digress here, but why is NOTHING Classic in EPCOT ever kept? Every park is allowed to have it's classics. EPCOT? Nope. Rip down Horizons, change narrations, let entire Pavilions be dumbed down or sit away and rot. Even the Mascot was taken away. (for a time...Some might argue he is still gone)Every other park UPDATES it's classics and allows the original attractions to stay and flourish with refurbs and updates. EPCOT has not a one. It's a shame, too, becuase MANY of the original EPCOT Center classics were easily upgradeable and adaptable for a new future to be depicted when the time came. It's a shame not only for SSE, but for the entire park.

So guys, I was listening to the soundtrack of SSE before the refurb....comparing it to the current soundtrack. The past soundtrack was pretty much a masterpiece and musically breathtaking.

I was in the car for the longest ride ever and go to thinking....what would the current narration sound like with the past soundtrack...

Merry Christmas, I think you'll enjoy. It brings back old memories

P.S.
It is on google video, however, it's just the music with a still video background. I didn't take this picture, I had it saved to my computer from a user's updates on this site. I want to go ahead and give them credit for the beautiful SSE pic....I would have asked for permission to use it if i could remember your user name! If this is your picture and you would like me to remove it, I'll gladly do so.

Edit:
I'm currently uploading the wav online if you would wish to have that. The link should be ready shortly.

:sohappy: I think this would make it so much better. I understand people liking the new score- it is nice. But there's really no comparison to what previously held it's place. It was truly special.

And most of it matches up pretty nicely- except for the part where moving, inspiring music gets interrupted with the cheesy cartoon narrative. :hurl:

Old SSE Score + New Audio Track = Much Much Better!!!:sohappy::D
It's crazy how much of a difference it makes, right?

I listened to it again just now and *chills*. If WDI would have done this and *mmayyyybe* updated a FEW musical sequences that no longer fit as well, we would have had less of a blowout when SSE reopened.

Very nice work! However...it just doesn't work for me. There is just something about the narration that doesn't make it mesh with the old score. I don't know what it is but... the tone of the narration just doesn't match the tone and feel of the music. With that thought, I don't think putting the old narration over the new score would work either. Its a nice bit of editing, but I really wouldn't want this in the actual attraction.

Again, nothing against you Gepettotrevor, you did a great job editing it together, but it just doesn't work for me.

WOW. I knew I missed the old score, but I didn't exactly know I missed it this much! It was incredibly gorgeous and downright inspiring. The new score is meh and not pronounced at all!

At least we got new showscenes and AAs.... I'll be thanking the phoneticians. :lookaroun
