1.) I can sleep tonight knowing that it's confirmed to be......a planter

2.) Yes the lifthill has always had ambient sounds, they are heavy bass tonal beeps that sound like a radio wave or satelite beep (if that made any sense :lookaround) as well as computery beepidty sounds. Wow great descriptions Expo. :zipit:

The zig zag tunnel used to have narrated voice-overs describing the scenes taking place in the windows along with a sub synth audio track....but all those speakers were blown out by 2009....will the music be restored....will roboboy and robodog remain in the post show? Stay tuned friends, stay tuned.

I'm thinking we will get some sort of surprise once it opens. Either on-board audio, or less clanking, or better effects, i just have a feeling in my gut that we will get a surprise.

If they fix the speakers...we really could have a whole new musical score!:lol:

...becuase we haven't heard it in 20 years.:lookaroun

I know 80% of you come on these forums just to about specks of dust on railings, chips of paint on walls, and trees that aren't quite as full as you'd like them to be (WOW ) but the planter looks great, as expected. The whole area in front there looks fantastic, actually. Love the wide open feel.

Am I the only one who's not that big of a fan of the neon green and blue color scheme? Its not terrible, but it reminds me way too much of Buzz Lightyear.

Totally agree!!!

And a very valid point, observe the other thread about this so called "disgrace to all planters":ROFLOL:

I have nothing against the planter, but if that and the bathroom building (former skyway) building don't get anything added, it's going to look very plain and not futuristic (retro-futuristic, whatever)...although as I mentioned with the TTA change in audio, perhaps this is all just waiting for a major Tomorrowland makeover in a few years.

The Magic Kingdom's Tomorrowland does not need a makeover. Every single attraction (except Carousel of Progress) needs to go or needs major work, but asthetically, your Tomorrowland is beautiful. It is so wide and open, there's detail from the ground up, the lighting is beautiful, the TTA is up and running, the Astro Orbiter is still on its proper platform, and everything else except maybe the video arcade can stay unaltered. Now take a look.

One of those few things worse at DLR.

It might be a stretch and I'm only making this call from a lot of pictures from all the resorts but I think we, or HKDL, might have the prize for #1 TLand

We have:

working TTA
Newly refurbed Space
Buzz
CoP
Speedway
great scenery and details
SGE/MILF (better than nothing)
Astro Orbiter sitting high and mighty

If you take a look at some other TLands, you can see we are in a far better situation.

I would give Disneyland or DLP the nod.

I wouldn't go as far as saying MK has the #1 Tomorrowland.

Themeing wise yes, the front of Tomorrowland feels and looks perfect from the pavement choice to the lighting at night! BUT everything outside Rocket Tower plaza falls flat on its face screaming for an update.

Also attraction wise its pretty sad. I would love to see Buzz receive an update to bring it on par with its counter parts, Speedway is awful and dated, Stitch and Monsters are ok but I wouldnt miss them. At least theres TTA and Astro is up where it belongs. And Space well see.

Disneylands is not as bad as everyone makes it out to be, in 2003-early 2005 it was the by far the worst Tomorrowland in the world-
-Rocket Rods closed in 01
-no Buzz
-Space was down
-Tomorrowland Terrace on limited openings and had the Club Buzz overlay on the stage
-Subs closed and gone
-Mark V monorails
-a mess of colors
-Radio Disney left their booth

Attraction wise with the recent major updating and additions to the land has been brought back up.

-new colors
-Jedi Training Academy as well as a new stage top
-Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters
-Space Mountain and the Rockin, and Ghost Galaxy overlays
-Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage
-Mark VII Monorails
-Innoventions Dream Home and Project Tomorrow

Theres still room for lots of improvement its still missing the Peoplemover and the Astro Orbiter up on top but I have doubts its going to be moving anywhere soon after the past refurbishment it got this year. Also Autopia even though its new from 2000 can really use another update with some electric cars like HKDL good thing that Chevron contract may end soon.

Themeing wise its nice to see the 98 colors gone the new 05 colors are nice but its still too retro in looks, its not good and its not bad. But the overall theme is consistent from front to back except for the Autopia tower.

Overall I think DLP takes it all.

From my uneducated eye, it looks like light projections are being put up on the bathrooms.
