Space Mountain/Tomorrowland Transit Authority update...

As a WDI show writing fan, The sign needs to say Seventy Five..."Space Station Seven Five" reads weird. Seven Five would only make sense if they put it in better command slang, like Zero Seven Five or better yet "SPACEPORT - Golf Echo 0075"

It's nice, but like all things in this rehab thus far, Maddeningly short of being up to snuff.

Eh, I think "seven five" still works, though it's odd to not have it in numbers. If I hear "Space Port Seventy-Five" the very first thing that pops into my head is "Airport '75"... (Of course, not every Guest's mind would jump to an airplane distaster film that most of today's audiences have never heard of...)

And saying the digits individually is closer to how pilots and air traffic controllers refer to runways (for example the runways at MCO are numbered and referred to as "3-5" and "3-6", not "thirty-five" and "thirty-six")

And you call ME Mr. Fancy Edumacashun.:lol::lol:

I just see it as code. In a Space Station setting, it works.

No it's not...If it WAS a code you'd have to put "Zero" in front of it, referring to the number of tens in each column to produce "75". Right now it's just a Seven and a Five. It'd have to be Zero Seven Five, which ALSO sounds cooler. There's like a million different codes out there they could have used. Literally ANY one of them would have been better. Compare to Disneyland's...Does Space Station Seven Seven sound great? no. Space Port Seven Five? Also no. Space Station 77? Yes. Space Station 75? Yes.

Even better and unique, Echo Golf 0075. (THAT'S code by the way. NATO alphabet combined with numerical value. So Seven letters into the alphabet is G, code for that letter is Golf, and five letters in is Echo. 75= Echo Golf, followed by the actual numerical value in the perfect sci-fi military value 00. Even better idea: "Spaceport: Sierra Delta 0075")

Literally, they were SO close to getting it awesome. I want code. I LOVE code. Seven Five is no code, it's just a TERRIBLE way to say 47. Didn't even put a dash in...

(Oh, and here's Space Mountain being cool. Look at the map picture Maya here posted above this post^ Look closely and you'll see the Mission Space X2 Deep Space Rocket taking off from Space Station 75. THAT'S how you be cool and add some theme and details in signage.)

That works well, seeing SM is a launch pad/your gate way to the galaxy, so to speak.:D

:brick: Are you kidding? It's fine. Seriously. You are over thinking this a bit too much....or just looking for a error.:lol:

And yes, I saw X2. :D Very cool. Hope we have a few more refferences like that.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not going crazy over since it won't really lessen the quality of what's there, which was nothing. (Unlike some crummy posters in a certain park in a certain amazing attraction I can think of.)

Just sayin' it sets the trend thus far, in my disappointment.

It shouldda' been a fancy doctor.

I didn't know why at first the sign bothered me but everything you said is exactly right. It does fall just short of what would have been done in the past.

Excellent observation and description of the problem!

But it's not code! And no I'm not being sarcastic. I'm hoping when they open the doors we find plenty of story or at least a better sense of place. Maya's picture of the space station works very well.
Awww...jt...I was feeling liberated from my bonds of Doom and Gloom!:lookaroun:D:lol:

Code or not code, it works. Gives it a Space Age vibe, adds some depth to the story, and brings some MORE story to SM.

If DL had gotten Space Station Seven Seven before us, you would most likely want that seeing ours would still be the unfamiliar one.

Space Mountain's 2009 refurbishment can best be summed up as lime green, fountains, planters, sandstone, astronauts, and numb3rs vs letters
