Space Mountain/Tomorrowland Transit Authority update...

It is breaking, though. :( Lot of Rust....And the back part of the land has never matched the first.

I would like to see them fix THAT, though. Make it more cohesive.

Its not as bad as disneylands, I would say that was my biggest surprise on my trip to DL. Tomorrowland was in pretty bad shape. Not talking about the color scheme(that a matter of taste) but the dead wedway platform/track, rust stains/dirt streaks on almost all buildings, space mountain was dirty, sloppy painting. The rest of the park was really nice though.

When was this? DL's TL is supposed to be lovely. Even with a dead TTA track.

It is. For a few months there Space Mountain needed painting, and they did awhile back and it looks perfect again, as it did when it reopened.

Unlike ours, which For THREE YEARS HAS NEEDED PAINTING.

AS OF TODAY...Even though the ride is closed, IT HAS YET TO BE PAINTED.

Like Father...Like Son? Think about it, won't you?

Two weeks ago, I just felt down walking around TL. A lot of it looked like it had been painted recently just not well. Don't get me wrong, ghost galaxy rocked, the projections and audio at night were cool. Innoventions, Nemo, Buzz, Honey I shrunk.... there was plenty to do and it was fun. JUst needed some TLC on the exteriors.

WEDWay, please! However I`m pretty sure the Houston WEDway was removed about a decade ago and replaced with a Bombadier Peoplemover like at MCO.

Sorry - I rode the WEDway :p
It is very much alive. It's downstairs and goes between terminals. Its indoor and has the same magnetic plates as the WEDway.

It is still in operation and has not been retired.
It still looks exactly like these pics:

(There is also an elevated transit like MCO outside.)

I had the pleasure of riding it a couple of years ago. It doesn't move continuously like the park WEDWay does, it actually stops at the different stations. It does run in a looped route, however, unlike the MCO trains. Looking down at the track, it appeared to be the same mechanism as at the park, as far as I could tell.

Is the train system at MCO by Bombardier?

PEOPLEMOVER, stooge!

Disneyland never had that Tomorrowland Transit Authority business going on. The closest they ever had was Tomorrowland Rapid Transit as part of the story for Rocket Rods.

DL's TL is horrible. Lacks a lot of theming - it was my least favorite DLR land (including DCA). MK's TL theming is 100x better than DL's TL, but MK just has bad attractions in it.

I love MK's futuristic feel, BGM, and of course the TTA adds a lot of life - something key that DL is missing.

I think DL's Tomorrowland keeps all the themeing going throughout all of the land from the entrance all the way back.(except for another paving project thats getting the pavement to match the newer colors) But the whole land is for the most part themed as one, HISTSA still has the ugly TL 98 color while Space above has the white, and Autopia is still stuck with the 98 colors even though it got a paint job a few years ago.

MK's is greatly themed and much better than DL's with lots of interesting details and facades but once you walk outside of Rocket Tower Plaza it falls flat. From the parking lot like lights lighting up the area, to the dreaded Tomorrowland Speedway. Theres 2 themes in MK's Tomorrowland a beautiful futuristic one up front and a dated forgotten one in back. MK does have a working Peoplemover though!

Disneyland's Tomorrowland is and always has been a thousand times better than ours.

This is on the life test, study up.

Completely wrong.

DL's TL has some murals... yay? At least WDW's TL looks futuristic. DL's looks like how MGM feels: A Mess. Don't get me wrong, I love DL as a whole - more so then MK, but MK's TL beats DL's by a long shot.

Servo: They must learn...

Animaniac: About the life you lead?

Servo: Exactly.

Animaniac: They must, feel the thrill of going to the studios? A thousand visits to match the times you go? When gazing at Japanese stuff of any kind, their little cup of joy should overflow?

Servo: Precisely!

Animaniac: It's time they learned to walk in your footsteps?

Servo: My footsteps.

Animaniac: To tread your straight and narrow path with pride?

Servo: With pride.

Animaniac: Well tomorrow just as you've suggest, pressed and stressed, I'd doubt anyone will be on your side!

Yes.

This is why it gets on my nerves when WDW people say their Tomorrowland is ugly. Sure, the attractions there are pitiful, but it is very nice. It is much more spread out (one of the things granted by the Magic Kingdom's immensity), the theming is amazing, and there is the TTA. Plus, even though Stitch is still there, so is the Mission to Mars/Alien Encounter theater. Ours at Disneyland has been gutted and replaced by Redd Rocket's Pizza Port.

YOU JUST GOT SUBMARINE'ED!

Nobody's ever been on my side, so I'm used too it.

And you forgot "Makes Obscure Refrences, Lives a Shuttered and lonely life, and watch MST3K."

And I've made no illusions of hiding my desire for a Cult of Tom Servo worshippers.

Say what you will, it's still on the life test (Along with the Doug Live question) ...Better Buzz, WAY better Space Mountain, STAR TOURS, The best Autopia ever, Monorails flying through it, a densely forested countryside, rich landscaping, A SUBMARINE VOYAGE, AND it's got the freakin' Matterhorn behind it. Whadda we got? Bupkis! Even without the peoplemover, you can stand in ONE SPOT and see FOUR moving attractions: Submarines, Bobsleds, Autopia Cars, and Monorails. Even without a Peoplemover it's still MUCH more "a world on the move" than ours.

Their Space Mountain is great except the absolutely horrible track layout. Maybe the worst roller coaster layout I have ever seen. It's all right turns.

The Autopia is great and very underrated though. But when Alien Encounter and The Timekeeper were running along side the Carousel of Progress? No contest.
