Don't worry, there's another ride that's alot like TTA over at Studios, it's fast, has a big tunnel, uses magnets, and even has black light props...

No.I take it meaning Space Mountain is looking at a reopening date after November, possibly 2010??? Right Lee?? Maybe they found structural issues after all???
No.
Based on what I learned the last few days, SM will most likely open in November.
However...it seems that (sadly, kinda like SSE) the ride that opens in November will not be the totally finished product. Some of what is being done now is laying the groundwork for further enhancements down the road.

Definitely starting to see a pattern here. Do you think they are taking this new approach for budgetary reasons, attendance/demand reasons, or a combination of both?
Correct. This whole thing has been a tug of war between park operations and WDI. For what we have been hearing the budget was there to gut the place but MK management did not want an E-ticket down for more than 6 months. What we will more than likely get is what we got and are still getting at SSE. The heavy duty stuff will be done during the closure and the rest will be done during 3rd shift for god only knows how long.Cheapness. They don't want to have a crowd eater close for so long?

I wish I could tell you what they were thinking. It is definitely short sighted IMHO. I do see their point...having SM down for 2 years would be a hard pill to swallow, but the end result would be well worth it. What I think we will end up with is a refurb that is only a faction of what it could have been and to add insult to injury it will end up costing more in the long run.Well, thats just stupid. Where did they find these park ops people? I mean, do they consider SSE a success? Do they really want to have every refurb follow down that path? What is wrong with them??? :brick:
So instead of a nice, tidy 12-15 month refurb where everything is operational at the end, we should expect about a 24(+) month long refurb where only the necessary is done in the first 6 months and then everything else slowly comes on line. Great...
Even if it wasn't THAT long...:dazzle:I wish I could tell you what they were thinking. It is definitely short sighted IMHO.
