Well, now the hanging ladder makes sense. Since the ladder isn't a union job, I'm pretty sure hanging them by their heads high above the ground is acceptable punishment for slacking on the job.

Today there appears to be a pile of construction materials stacked on the bottom white "lip" around the mountain (just above the blue sidewalls) at about the 6:00 position.

Also, that mysterious black streak on the cone appears to be some sort of roofing tar. Did they find a leak, or need to cut through the outer skin for some reason?

If they were spending at WDW as they are spending at DCA and overseas, then people would complain that Disney was not being financially responsible during a deepening recession. Everyone keeps saying Rasulo is too "cheap" while money is being poured into DCA by the tonnage. And Carsland broke ground just two days ago. The Red Trolly support facilities have also started construction. Something is contradictory here.

I agree with you 100% here. I think it's the way to go. But none of us has institutional investors breathing down our necks on a daily basis, fortunately. The company is preforming very well all things considered, and I think WDW will benefit in the long run. Stay tuned.

Wall Street is telling Disney to spend money on the parks, not to skimp. Investors are not happy that Disney hasn't announced long-term growth plans yet.

Remember, people invest in Disney because they admire the company's legacy for cutting-edge creativity, not because it's a safe stock. Entertainment companies aren't safe stocks, period.

And all the money being spent in DCA is simply bringing it up to the standards of a Disney park—the work had to be done to prevent the place from turning into Disney's Ghetto Adventure. I must admit the title gives me attraction ideas. :p

So what you are saying is, the people who are complaining about spending during lean times are probably not investors, right?

well, i have not read this thread in a week, but it amazing how things vear off course. the sm project is ahead of schedule, and that is not a ladder, but a piece of track. but i will not tell which section. take a closer look as there are cross connectors unlike a ladder which has one, you are fooled by shadows. inside myself.

Download the picture and zoom in on it - You will see that it is two ladders of different lengths tied together on the rig. I thought it was a track section at first too...
