Here's a wacky thought (key word, "wacky"):

Disneyland is getting the Ghost galaxy makeover this year for Halloween. According to Al Lutz, although the instillation period for the effects will take 2 weeks, the time it will take for it to come down or start up again in the future will be a couple days. That's right, not weeks, but days. Now knowing all this, is there a possibility that WDW might be istalling these effects now for future use, especialy since the BS about "ruined vactions with closed attractions" would not apply in this case?

I'm guessing the answer is no but I thought I'd juts throw this into the various lader related discussions in this thread.

I asked that same question last week after Al Lutz said that the Ghost Galaxy Space Mountain was coming to Disneyland this September. Lee, resident insider here, chimed in and said that he hadn't heard of any of the Ghost Galaxy equipment being installed in this rehab and hadn't heard of any such a concept pitched or approved for WDW.

There was also the concept thrown out that Disneyland does holiday overlays for Halloween like Nightmare Before Christmas, Ghost Galaxy, and a new Villains themed fireworks show this fall and offers it all up every day for regular guests. But that WDW makes a big deal about the after-hours Halloween parties with the separate admission, and WDW management would probably never spend that kind of money to only offer it to the private party guests. And if they offered a major holiday E Ticket overlay for regular day guests, it would lessen the exclusive factor of the after-hours separate admission parties.

So it sounds like there is such a radical difference between the operation of Disneyland and WDW that some concepts, like holiday themed overlays for major E Ticket attractions and special seasonal fireworks shows, that WDW probably won't be getting them any time soon.

And that makes a lot more sense to me than just the tired old "WDW Rehabs Ruin Vacations!" excuse. :animwink:

Thanks, I couldn't be bothered to read through all this thread (will wait till it's done and then come back) so you info is welcome.

All Disneyland needs is a real parade and Halloween there will be much better than WDW.

A couple of quick questions (sorry if they've been answered previously, haven't been following this thread closely):

Is there going to be any major exterior work done? New signs, lights, etc?

If there is going to be some exterior work, when would that come in their timeline? The last step?

I'm going to be down in WDW when the TTA is suppose to reopen, do you think they will have it completely walled off inside SM so you can't grab some pictures?

Thanks

Frist Two....They have not done anything, yet. And the Facade is free from any walls/scafolds/etc. It might be too early for that, though.

3rd- I'm thinking the TTA will have walls.
