I just asked a friend of mine about this and he confirmed there was audio. It never occured to him that there was never audio. Today is his first day in the park. He just got off of it 5 mins ago. He said he is going to ride it again and pay attention this time.

Great to hear the news!

Does anyone know if this was in the master plan all along from the recent refurb? Or is this a new technology that has evolved since the refurb was budgeted? And how does this fit into the "TDO is cheap" way of thinking? (I don't mean why wasn't it on-board audio. But why spend money on this addition so many months after the refurb was complete if TDO was apparently satisfied with it as-is?)

I'm anxious to ride it and see if it is an acceptable (or dare I say better?) alternative to on-board music.

It was always planned, but to get the attraction opened back up quicker, they decided to do the audio during third shift overnight.

I hope they start selling that poster in the On-Demand kiosks in Art of Disney with the rest of the retro attraction posters. I'll definitely buy!

Sounds interesting, but I honestly can't see it being that good of quality sounding while riding. Oh well, I'll eat my words if I'm wrong.

And why is the Star Tunnel music off on the TTA?! Why are they having such a problem with this? :brick:

Awesome! First the Main Street Electrical Parade and now this! How our upcoming trip can't get here any faster!!!! :D

By the way, if someone can get a MP3 file of this, I'd love to have it for my WDW audio collection! Also, does anyone know if this will effect the music being played on the TTA segment of when you look down into the post-show? I'm still hoping the Tom Morrow narration is being played there when I record the ride in three weeks!

We were there this past Wednesday-Sunday. Thursday night we rode the peoplemover at about 8:00pm and the lights were all on in SM and the ride was closed. Saturday my son who just turned 5 and I rode it. This was his first time ever on the ride and my first time in about 3 years since riding it. I didn't notice any new sounds but then again I was more concerned about leaning forward so I could hold both or his hands, then I was about the actual ride experience. The next day he wanted to go on it again, so my wife took him. I'll have to ask her if she noticed anything about the sounds. BTW SM is now my son's favorite ride (used to be EE).
