I assume they have been working on the inside for a while now, but it looks like we will now see some exterior work.
The last time I snuck a peek through the cracks in the doors and the few little spots on the windows the wondering oakens area and cast back stage areas had been gutted so the buildings my was open front to back. they had installed a catwalk hanging from the ceiling and the had the floor all torn up installing and eliminating large conduit. The rebar grids they had set aside ready to set in the holes were 5/8s or , 3/4 rebar welded into a 10 inch grid. Needless to say this is some crazy heavy duty stuff you usually only see in high rise construction.

It's not a waste. Even if DHS had 10 other great attractions, wait times for TSMM would be unbearable due to its insanely low throughput. I just don't understand why they don't plan for this initially. Calculating hourly ride capacity is a pretty basic operation.
Why then, doesn't it have hour long waits at DCA? Pretty much the same ride, same capacity, same throughput.

Just gonna throw this out there, this was the wait time when I was at Disneyland.

Guess this is what happens when there's no fastpass and plenty of other rides. DHS should've had more rides added after TSMM.

Wow :jawdrop:

I wish our wait times were like that for TSMM! To this day I've never ridden it due to the ridiculous lines. We definitely need to add more rides to DHS.

It doesn't help that DHS also has higher attendance that DCA either. Also (I am assuming here), those who visit DHS are probably in a slightly different demographic than DCA.
No more so than Uni or IoA.

HS is the only park in the world, aside from DCA or Disney Studios Paris, where Disney could thematically get away with massive exposed steel coasters and the like (such as Cali Screamin'). But, they don't.

HS is the "High Thrills" park, or at least that's what I think it should be...aimed at teens and thrill seekers.

And I am glad they have not taken that route.

I am not arguing there is not a need for more attractions. But I would not want DHS to turn into just a "high thrills" park. I much prefer taking the Hollywood/Movies theme up a notch (up a big notch). And if it includes a few new thrill rides, I would have no problem with that. But I wouldn't want it to be just that.

Exactly. It's amazing how a ride meant to fill out a roster of many attractions in one park, is touted as a must-see E-Ticket in another park that is hurting for attractions. Our resort needs to get its act together.

I echo this. TSMM at CA isn't the main draw that it is at DHS. I waited 45 minutes for it, but I waited an hour for the single rider line at Radiator Springs Racer and the regular line was over twice as long. The fast pass line that morning was twenty minutes long and ran out an hour after opening, leaving us empty handed. Granted it was two years ago, but from what I have heard it isn't much different some days. The coaster had an hour wait. the walk on was the swings, which enjoyed.

But on that trip the big draws were RSR, ToT and Indiana Jones at Disneyland.

The craziness over TSMM is a Florida thing and for that matter Soarin' too. They both are the newest rides in their park (not counting the TT redo).

I'm honestly surprised that's the case. I haven't had the opportunity to experience the attraction at DCA. No matter how you cut it though the throughput on the attraction is atrocious.

Maybe the people out in Cali are intelligent enough to know that the ride is just a glorified video game and isn't worth more than a 10 minute wait so the line never gets that long.

HS has 16 attractions, 4 if which are rides.

DCA has 34 attractions, 21 of which are rides.

Yeah...that's why.

It blows my mind that DHS has higher attendance. I guess it is just the simple fact that it is a part of WDW where more people visit in general.
I agree, I think that is a nature of the difference of type of visitor.

When you are making a day trip, skipping a park isn't that big a deal, but when you are planning a week long family vacation (like people going to WDW do), you make it a point to see HS...at least that's what I think.

1. No FP at DCA
2. Lower park attendance at DCA (at least historically, but I don't think it's passed DHS yet).
3. Guest dynamics. I don't think it's crazy to suggest that the guests at WDW/DHS tend to skew a lot more younger children than DLR/DCA. And that's right in the wheelhouse of appeal for TSMM.

FWIW, TSMM in Tokyo does get some pretty large waits. And there's plenty to do in that park.
