Trip Report Soon it will just be two of us - A very unique Max Trip Report

Hello to all of my WDWMagic friends

For those that did not notice I am back now from an extended absence from the boards even though @Tuvalu did her best to keep me engaged
The reason for the disappearing act was a very special (and time consuming) event
So we start this report with a wonderful trip down the aisle...

Stephanie and Jordan got married!!!

The venue was a (very) local golf course (5 min drive from our house)
Both the ceremony and reception were in the same room

Pictures at the house - Cassie was the maid of honour

The grooms people were (left to right) a combination of Jordan's brother Evan, his best man is his best friend from high school( also named Jordan!) , his two close friends from University (Maria and Roshni) and Cassie's BF Shane

This one was just before the walk down the aisle - I held it together - no blubbering at all!

When you spend a small fortune on a wedding you get a front row seat!!!

Tricia loves the Nightmare overlay so this was a must do for us
My pictures do not do this justice at all

After HM we did the long meandering walk passed the Hungry Bear and into Star Wars Galaxy Edge

Smugglers Run ( here on known as the falcon) only had only a 15 min wait so we went for it

next up: the first falcon ride

Can’t wait to hear what you thought of the falcon. My husband and I have very different opinions after our visit.

Great picture! I love you wife's dress!!!
Yes - she looked lovely
Of course - come on over for Christmas ... 2020 😉
I will save my pennies for the flight
Awesome wedding picture!
Thanks - the photographer Jess was amazing
Excellent view from the room! I would have kept it too. And way to go on Pirates! People that talk during rides is so annoying. Why even ride if you are going to talk the whole time.
They would not shut up - after the drops and high pitch screaming and constant chatter I had had enough!!
I don't know how I missed this but I'm here!! Beautiful wedding photos !
Thanks for following along!
Love the comment to the chatty girls behind you, I have wanted to say similar things many times and never been brave enough. I never understand why people wait in line and hop in a ride vehicle to just keep chatting away to the same people they can talk to any other time. Appreciate the ride and let others do the same!
I guess with age I am getting less willing to keep it inside - I will never see them again and the only thing I will regret is not saying something
So, I just tell them how I am feeling..

Can’t wait to hear what you thought of the falcon. My husband and I have very different opinions after our visit.
Next post with the first ride review
Did you wear shoes to the wedding?
Nice catch - this shot was at our home before we went to the venue

This one proves that I eventually put on shoes

Day 1 continued
So after a short walk through the queue and hearing the spiel we were ready to board
I was a gunner and Tricia was an engineer

Overall impression? - it is a really good ride - not great - good
The gunner position was the best starting point
You are able to see well from the second row and shooting does not require you to look away from the front screen
The pilots did not do so well on this flight - very bumpy
Tricia commented that she was feeling some pain and should have worn a sports bra!!!

We were getting tired (almost up for 24 hours at this point) so we headed toward the front and took a few special pics

I have a few thoughts. A delay in Canada? Over a little snow? Seems crazy. Great room! Also inquiring minds may like to know what shuttle you took from LAX? Perhaps a few goofs from Texas may be headed out west in the near future. Lastly, Tricia has such a great smile in your wedding pics! She looks like she can light up a room with that smile! I guess that’s all I have at the moment.

Didn’t you say in an earlier post it was Tricia’s idea that all the girls in the wedding party have a shawl because you never know about the weather? Where was hers? She must have been freezing in that fantastic picture of the 6 of you. And boy, Shane really cleans up nicely - I think nearly all of the WDW pictures of him was in a hoodie 😉

I think they used a company I recommended which is Lansky car service. I’ve used them a few times from LAX and always been pleased.

The wedding photographer did a wonderful job. :inlove:

Grand Californian room is lovely.....I wish WL rooms had the same gentle colors and clean lines. (Maybe after long-overdue refurb? 🤞🏻) We had the same good fortune as you on our one-and-only stay at GC....booked a standard and got THAT VIEW!!

Looking forward to more!

We used them from SNA and were impressed as well. Nice clean vehicle, prompt and much nicer than a shuttle.

Generally a little bit of snow in most areas doesn't cause too many delays. The only exceptions are the west coast and the first snowfall because apparently they've forgotten how to do their jobs when it snows.

Both Tricia and I were confused , angry and disappointed that the Toronto airport was so unprepared for some snow
But I also think there was probably something wrong with something else for them to be so incompetent

First off Tricia did have a shawl - it was black rather than crème - she just did not wear it in those pictures (see below)

And with regard to Shane - yes he does clean up nice - and Cassie laughed when I read your message out loud
Her response? "well, it is true"

Thanks Amy - I had memory block and could not remember the name

We are very pleased with the photos - come over to the house someday and I will show you all 1000 of them!!

It is these little things that I love to discover and take pictures off

Yes - excellent service - highly recommend them

No excuse for the delay due to weather - it Canada eh!

Day 2
One change since our last visit in August 2017 was they are not giving free coffee/tea/hot chocolate in the quick serve/cafeteria
You just have to show your room key
So when I got my first "free" drink I decided to get artistic (@fractal - this one is for you)

Day 2 contd
Ride number 2 on the Falcon
This time our group was only 4 - makes no sense - so Tricia and I were going to both be gunners with no engineers
For those that have riden understand that you will not complete you missions without all roles so I decided to hop in the back seat and be the engineer ( I know - a big stretch for me )
72999820-DFEE-466C-BABC-B3E688C73A2D.jpeg
6F3753A7-B16A-4040-9ADD-08997F1BA514.jpeg

How was the ride? well the pilots did better - you could tell they were "gamers" by how well they did and how they complain that it was not responsive enough for them
And Tricia did not feel any pain ( and no she did not actually wear the sports bra)
I of course scored 100% as the engineer - could not live with myself if I had not

We walked around and took random pictures

We ended up buying 3 die cast vehicles ( tie fighers, x wing and the falcon)

Day 2
Took a few more shots as we exited the newest addition
( for that do not know SWGE is an addition at DLR using land that was backstage before- in WDW it is a reuse of existing park space)
