Sonny Eclipse at Cosmic Ray's Starlight Cafe

One of the things I always look forward to when visiting the Magic Kingdom with my daughter is lunch at the Starlight Cafe with the lounge singer Sonny Eclipse. Was down at the MK last August (2014) and was told he would be "back from vacation" within weeks. Went again to the MK last week (1/30/15) and he was still "on vacation". We were very disappointed to say the least. Anyone know when he is due back? And more importantly, will there be any changes?? Hope not.

Until then, I'll just have to watch this...

No. Definitely some major work going on. In August he was missing. Last week the entire stage was blocked from view.

I was just at MK on Jan 2 and Sonny was there.

Perhaps he has been back (repaired), but they used his stage last week for an event??? The entire stage was hidden from view last Friday (1/30/15).

It was just bad luck. The two times you visited are separate downtimes. The recent one is for work on the elevator lift.

That explains it. I couldn't imagine it would take months to get Sonny back to work. So bummed though. BTW, what does an elevator lift have to do with Sonny?

I love Sonny too! It's not a trip to WDW without watching him rock out. I'm glad to hear that they repaired him and that he likely isn't going anywhere.

I'm assuming the elevator is near the stage.

Not necessarily. My brother and I would cry like the little children we were at the time when we saw Sonny. Needless to say, we did not eat at Cosmic Rays until we were both high school aged.
