something to say

This is not an attack on you in the slightest, so please don't take it this way...

The cleanliness issue is a double edged sword. All the 'dirty' issues the above poster talked about involved a total and complete lack of respect/disregard for property on behalf of the WDW GUEST. Perhaps not only are the employees becoming increasingly more and more disgruntled, but guests are feeling much more entitled and selfish when at WDW?

When a trash can is overflowing, I feel that the guest made every effort to put it where it belonged. In the bathroom, when there is no more room in trash cans, what is a guest to do? I am sure they must have been short handed, but I can't blame the guest for this. If the trash was thrown all over the floor with empty cans, then I would have to agree with your statement. And I am sure that some guests are probably like that, but in the cases that I am talking about, this wasn't the case.

I don't know about that, I usually find a place for my trash that will fit, whether I have to walk extra paces or not. I wish guests would do that since that is the thing anyone would do in their house if one garbage can was a little too full. Also, it's not like Disney only has one garbage can in an entire area, there are several. I've never really seen an overflowing garbage can at Disney, just at Universal(and I was disgusted:hurl:) I hope things haven't gone that bad at Disney.:(

As I have said, ALL the cans in the bathroom were FULL. And in the parks, yes, the garbage cans were FULL. I am not sure if they were short on help, or have just cut back, but it was not because of guests, but because the cans were full.

I would have gone and found a cast member and let them know about the bathroom and trash situation.

Apparently when I go to the parks I have blinders on that only see the good because I never encounter anything that people here complain about.

Don't let these boards get you down. Even though you might be sick, doesn't mean you can't enjoy yourself. Same thing with Walt Disney World, just because it doesn't live up to anywhere near the quality and standards that it used to, doesn't mean you can't have a blast.

Ahhh, another negative thread I see?

Yeah, no kidding. I don't understand why you wouldn't just ignore these threads, and then compound onto the perceived negativity by starting a thread complaining about the (admittedly perhaps over-) abundance of criticism and strong debate about the current condition of Walt Disney World.

We noticed the same thing on our recent trip. ...very, very dirty bathrooms. It is not something that upset me, but I did notice it because it was such a sharp contrast from our past trips....and it was property wide.

Yes, people are slobs...but they have always been slobs. And in the past Disney CM's have done an amazing job keeping up with cleaning up after the slobs. I admire and respect them for that....it is not always a very magical job postion!

However, I did notice a change in this from our other trips in the past couple of years...in all of the parks. I'm not complaining....I'm just pointing out a fact here to agree with momofnine about her recent expereince. I think they probably are a bit understaffed right now and just can't keep up with the messes. I do not think it is that the CM's are slacking off....I just do not think they can keep up.

I remember nearly always seeing a CM in the bathroom everytime I would go in...I'd always go out of my way to say hi to them and thank them for what they do. However, on this past trip (first week of Dec.) I did not see a single CM in the bathrooms....not a single one the entire week.

Again, I'm not complaining here...just pointing out that I think momofnine had a valid point. They are more than likely understaffed which means they just can't keep up with all of the sloppy people.

I definately got a chuckle out of the complaining about complainers aspect of this post, but I do agree with the sentiment of the OP.

It does seem as if lately the most harmless of post have negativity interjected into them. Whether it be "walmarted" or the weekly threaten bankruptcy (sp?) of the Walt Disney Company, it really does seem to be more prevalent lately.

By no means attacking anyone personally in this thread, mearly using it as an example; this thread had nothing to do with the cleanliness of the parks, yet complaints were interjected nonetheless.

For all the complainers, I only hope that you communicate your issues with the Walt Disney Company as vociferiously as you do here.

I don't mind people complaining really, although it has increased recently! What I don't like seeing is people being shot down in flames when there is no need for it.

For example, someone opens a thread posing a hypothetical question and immediately 2 or 3 people completely rip them to shreds for it.

Or someone will post something that is, perhaps, more than obvious to some people, and again, they get slated for it. But it isn't necessarily that obvious to everyone!

I think people need to be a tad more tolerant!

Just my two penneth worth!
