See, I see that as kind of a "mascot" for Nextgen....

watching you.....

GREAT IDEA! It start as a giant Rapunzel eyeball and then slowly morph into a sea of green backs whizzing about the surface of SSE. How are people going to react when they smooth the surface of the "projector side" by filling in all the spaces between the trigonal pyramids?

I'm a little lost throughout most of this, but do find the idea that they've actually done the thing people have joked about them doing is kind of sad.

I did not mind the castle being TP'd on the morning of the SGE Grand Opening, though. I thought that was cute and funny. But there had been build-up to it, so when I turned and saw what he'd done to the castle, I just burst out laughing.

I don't know about this Monster thing. Have to see if I can see it.

I do think any movie that requires this much hype is probably not all that good.

There have been early screenings of Monster's U and the reviews have been all great so far. Disney's giving it a lot of hype because that's what big-budget, summer blockbuster movies get. I don't think there should be any concern whether it'll be a good movie or not based off of the fact that they are hyping it up so much.

Projectors, maybe? Doesn't make sense, unless they plan to maybe "paint" Spaceship Earth as a giant Mike Wazowski? But why the front, if that's what the plan is? If I have an opportunity to go back, I'll look for more from on the back side.

Now that I think about it, that does make sense. A giant Mike Wazowski projected on to Spaceship Earth!

Sadly, we leave Thursday morning. :(
wow u hit that right on the nose!!!

SSE needs to be left in all it's naked glory! No advertising, please.
Not sure if that image was real or not, but regardless - they've been projecting Seimens on SSE since they took over sponsorship. They can do some cool things with the projector (make it a globe or something). I would definitely prefer it to not change into a billboard on a nightly basis.

I don't mind the Seimens after Illuminations....or if they move the projectors to the backside of SSE and use them during Illuminations. I would just hate to see them starting to use them for advertising purposes every evening, especially on the frontside of SSE.

Although it looks like I was wrong about the Mike Wazowski being a nightly thing, I think that's one of the scariest things about it: the fact that it was done once means there is now a precedent. Just like everyone was okay with a one-time Tronorail wrap because "well it's the future, and a vehicle, and stuff," what we found out was that once TDO figured out a new way to do an advertising gimmick the first time, they were okay doing it from then on. Before long we had far less relevant Avengers wraps, Iron Man wraps, and Monsters University wraps, even though all of those have far less relevance to the monorails.

Mike Wazowski may have been cute the first time because "well, he's round," but how long before they start projecting upcoming movie characters regardless of appropriateness? From what we've seen with the monorails, I'm not sure I trust TDO to have sufficient respect for their theme park icons to turn down buck$ from the movie studios.
