Something is going to happen to Fantasmic

That's what we're talking about - increasing park admission by way of making changes.

Fantasmic! will survive as long as it continues to contribute in terms of park admission what it has always contributed. When we guests decide, through our assessment of value, that Fantasmic! isn't worth it anymore, then it'll end. If we guests decide, through our assessment of value, that a certain change to Fantasmic! will make it worth more to us, then it'll be changed. This isn't rocket science.
Park admission increases enough without trying to tie it to or justify it with changes to Fantasmic. How about they use some of the recent increases to finance any needed upgrades?

To insinuate that a ticket increase is required to cover any upgrade is to insinuate that there is no reasonable profit being made at all.

Interestingly, I just saw the wdw version this week for the first time in 15 years (I’m a frequent visitor to DL but get to Orlando much less frequently). I still loved the show! DLs version is superior, but they have the two ships to work with. DLs is also much more difficult to see. Orlando needs a refresh but as far as I am concerned it can stay for another 20 years. Go Fantasmic!
Totally agree! The only part I really dread in our version is the bubble scene. If Disney just shortens that part (which will shorten the show altogether), I'm very content with that!

It's really the only nighttime show on property that my family and I know really well and love watching together. HEA is still fairly new to my parents, but Fantasmic! is something that they know of, thanks to its catchy tune!!

Rumour has it the floats will be making their way to Walt Disney Studios Park for future use.
Actually makes sense considering that WDS park is building a giant new lake to accommodate Marvel, Star Wars, and Frozen and DLP lacks a F!...funny how the worst Disney park is slowly becoming a giant merge of old school MGM, DHS, and DCA.

The company probably has decided what's in store for the future of Fantasmic and the huge very underutilized piece of land it occupies in Hollywood Studios. The "way better" part is using this valuable piece of land with something the guests can enjoy day and night and not just when the land comes to life at night with the nightly Fantasmic show. And don't ask when it rains then you have thousand of guests like my family and I going home dissapointed when the Fant show is cancelled.

If Disney manages to secure a small deal with Universal...this seems like an awfully perfect sized plot of land to throw an Avengers Campus on......(in green goblin voice) “godspeed Tower of Terror”.

Don’t cut it. Change it. I want A Night on Bald Mountain with an inflatable Chernabog...

Somebody gets it. Add new movies. Replace Pocahontas with Moana- imagine the projections on the mountain transforming from a raging lava monster to the beautiful goddess. Change those stupid Lion King cardboard cutouts to resemble King Louie’s temple from the Jungle Book. Reimagine a Peter Pan segment from DL. It’s literally skull rock. Have Genie sing Friend Like Me. Axe the excess number of renaissance villains and focus more on the story. Get a new Maleficent Dragon! The possibilities are endless. It’s the ultimate battle of good and evil and definitely the one show where IPs are welcomed!

I think Tangled would work as a Pocahontas replacement with Rapunzel and the ruffians fighting to free Flynn from the guards, then using At Last I See the Light to transition into the Princess Medley.

With the last 2 night time spectaculars TDO has put out, I would like for them to reimagine their team before doing another night time spectaculars...

One thing I enjoy about F! is that it is pure Disney. No Pixar, No Lucas Film, No Marvel, Pure good ole fashion Disney and I hope it stays that way.

Be sure not to watch DL Fantasmic then.

I watched it when 2.0 first came out and it is quite dysfunctional (Music, the clips, the story) I would say the intro is the nicest upgrade for the show. The finale lost its oomph.
Agreed. If WDW ever upgrades their Fantasmic!, I hope it’s focused more on effects upgrades like the 2009 DL refurb and not content changes like the 2017 DL refurb. This isn’t to say that a content change to certain elements such as the Pocahontas scene wouldn’t be welcome, but that something to the extent of what DL did with 2.0 where almost every content change was for the worse would be bad. Despite the massive effects upgrades that were made, I have to say I prefer the current WDW version over the current DL version overall because of those changes.

I can see why they'd refurb the show, the current version isn't very good. It definitely needs a major, major upgrade. I don't like Disneyland, but their version of Fantasmic is much better.
