Something is going to happen to Fantasmic

I’m a former cm and I still have a lot of friends working at wdw. The ones who work in studios have been posting alarming Facebook posts such as “please leave fantasmic alone”, “I hope fantasmic doesn’t go” and “don’t touch fantasmic” etc. The cms said there is a nighttime show making its final curtain call and everything seems to be pointing to Fantasmic. Keep an eye out

Disney tried to get rid of her it in 2009 with the arrival of American Idol experience. They cut fantasmic to 3 nights a week and pushed everyone to the American idol finale. There was a huge campaign to Disney to axe American idol and bring back fantasmic. Ultimately, fantasmic won. With that said, do not touch fantasmic. Yes its old but when they start updating stuff it comes back horrible. We already have to live with the awful frozen holiday wish, red being dominant on pirates and other nonsense.

Park admission increases enough without trying to tie it to or justify it with changes to Fantasmic. How about they use some of the recent increases to finance any needed upgrades?
Why should they? I'm not being facetious. I mean that literally. Your claim "increases enough without trying to tie it or justify it" makes no sense - again - literally, no sense. You're basically saying nothing different from, "They should do what I want because I want it." There's no other real foundation for what you posted.

To insinuate that a ticket increase is required to cover any upgrade is to insinuate that there is no reasonable profit being made at all.
It's not direct, that much is true. But it is irrational to expect changes without there being any reason (and in business, "reason" is almost synonymous with "money") for those changes. (I say "almost" synonymous since there are a few other things that fall into the category of "reason", specifically: safety, legal compliance, and public reputation. However, note specifically that what a certain guest or set of guests personally want isn't in that list, unless it translates into more money somehow.)

Probably. And I'd enjoy that. Just don't theme a fountain to an IP and call it an attraction.
That attraction (a) won't be themed to Moana from what I've read, but rather is inspired by the film - there is assuredly a difference since Disney has been so fastidious about making the distinction; and (b) is an attraction even if you don't like it. I remember going back to the opening of Animal Kingdom people priggishly insisting that The Oasis isn't an attraction. It is. Every Disney fan has to remember that not every attraction is for them, personally.

If they're going to revamp the show, I say revamp everything including the stage. Fantasmic has been the most deserving out of all the attractions in WDW to receive an update. Disneyland get little tweaks here and there for their Fantasmic, while WDW's version has been stuck in 1998. The only "recent" thing worked on was the video montage at the start of the show because they HAD to include Frozen characters, which ended up ruining the video montage. Even the costumes have gone to $heit!

But I still see Disney doing away with the show and brining another concept to life.
Mucha? Is that you trying to feel how WDW fans would feel if Fantasmic was replaced?

THE TRUTH IS OUT THERE!
TRUST NO ONE!

I saw Fantasmic at DHS for the first time last year. I had booked the dessert party. That was amazing. Fantasmic was meh. I seriously considered walking out but stayed because of its reputation. I should have left!

First, a word about my background. I’ve been a Stage Director and Technical Director for local theater (HS, community and regional).

The lighting was poor. The floats at the end were barely visible. It begged for the addition of smart bright spotlights on the characters. Same for action in the mountain. I almost missed John Smith’s climb because it was so dark.

Due to weather conditions the pyrotechnic smoke hung over the set, and a lot of action was not visible.

The music definitely could use a remix. Levels were bland and the music ineffectively communicated the drama.

The shooting pyrotechnic towers were not impressive. I expected them to be much higher.

Overall, I felt that I could ‘guess’ where the show was going but the show itself never reached that potential.

F! always struck me as a fairly high labor cost show, with all that cast running around... and labor seems to be a huge cost focus at the moment for the spreadsheet crowd.

A friend of the family was "friends" with a popular character for a long time, and was in Christmas parade tapings, F!, etc for years. If I recall correctly, those upper-tier friends of characters are paid for an entire shift, even if they're only on stage for an hour or so to do their show. So yes, the labor costs are likely astronomical for F! compared to others.

Which I believe was the logic behind "Characterplooza" (can I say that word?) F! casts having downtime on nights with only one show, so they send them out to do Meet & Greets since they were getting paid for the time anyway.

I have two friends that are imagineers, one of them helped build galaxies edge and toy story land. I will try to get something out of her later but I highly doubt it lol
Th

That’s true, but it isn’t just a small number of people saying it, it’s multiple. You know how Disney works, someone always knows someone high up and then word travels like gossip in high school lol. Likely fantasmic is going it’s a huge space and it’s outdated. With all the new additions they probably need to cut a nighttime show for budgeting and well, fantasmic seems like it’s the one to go.
Patrick, is that you? #Buzzy

There was a live stunt show at Hollywood Studios called Lights Camera Action Stunt Spectacular about 14 years ago. It was only performed during the day and only 1-2 times a day. If it rained the show was cancelled and pretty sure the performers still got paid for the day.
