Cal, you know how I feel...:)
I wish you all lived in my town, so I could help you with your art supply needs. Try some new mediums, and you may get even more creative!
Art is such a Vast and great area of discovery...and I am soooo jealous! LOL!

Mitchell...just curious..what type of paints did you use on the cells? They seem kind of thick? When i had to do cels back in clollege..i couldnt afford cell paint so i just mixed oils with egg whites...which worked better than i thought it would....and of course..cotton gloves...

:slurp:  Hi!!
I use Acrylic Paints with just water to thin it.
Dosent oils take a while to dry?? or did the eggs speed the drying time?

I should wear gloves But I dont and the outline was done with a Ultra Fine Permanant Marker.

Well..you can mix eggwhits in with acrylic too...tho it is more vivid with oils...it does take a little while to try..but if you put it on thin enough it shouldnt be too much of a headache...

I used to do my outlines with a paint marker..much finer tip and less likely to smudge...I even know people who would color the entire cell that way...i personally didnt like that tho...

Gloves were a necessity..since i drag my hand over when i draw.color....if i didnt have them i would have finger smudges all over everything,,,

Not bad...You should soften the edges on the shadows using the blur tool (assuming the paint progam you used has one)..it will make it look much more realistic...

Hehe..if you want some tips on doing digital painting..just ask..I am mostly a digital artist...so i know the most about that area...

when I get home from work I will scan some of my oil paintings.:)

Oooooo cant wait! :)

I've never painted w/ oils...I stick to that crayola type crap we use in school lol. I tried accrylics once but theyre hard to work with. I'm used to being able to re-wet what I've already painted so I can mix directly on my painting. :)

I HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAATE oils. They NEVER dry (literally) and are expensive (for good oils that is)...the little painting I still do is with Acrylic...its far less messy and much easier on the wallet.

I've never worked much in pastels or done anything realistic in pastel but I kind of like this one. It's kind of abstract I guess. I like pastels, I just need practice with them.
