Some new ideas for WDW...

Well, I'm not sure if these are original, I'm not trying to take others ideas, I've just been thinking about what I'd like to see.

Magic Kingdom:

-FantasyLand: "Festival of Fools" This would follow the festival that is portrayed in "Hunchback of Notre Dame" and would have Clopin as the ringleader, getting everyone into the action, and have several other performers all around, joining in the fun! It would have the main song of course, crown a "King of Fools":king: (maybe a lucky, *or not so lucky*) parent, and have just a general sense of good natured mayhem. Esmerelda would be there, Quasimodo, Pheobus, Jolly, and some other gypsies and "Parisian peasansts". Just a fun little interactive show to rival "Family Fun Day Parade" on Main St.

And what about a Villian based attraction? Without them there wouldn't be a point to Happily Ever After. It'd just be normal, everyday blah. I know Fantasmic! is a villian based show, but maybe they could have another actual ride in where they join forces to foil the hero/heroine's plot to get the guests out of the predicament/problem/ride safely. It'd definitely be a "cult classic" like Haunted Mansion.

AND....why haven't they brought the NBC to the Haunted Mansion at WDW?? I think that is a fantastic idea for the holiday season!! I'm a HUGE fan of HM, and a HUGE fan of NBC, so the two combined????:eek:

Also, I was thinking that maybe they could make Belle's Storytime into more of a Pocahontas themed storytime, and make Beauty and the Beast into an actual ride. Snow White gets one, so should Beauty and the Beast! :D:D:D Maybe people in the ride could be "transformed" into objects in the castle, and "help" Belle and Beast fall in love, so they can be "Human Again"?? :veryconfu:lookaroun

I don't mean to intrude on anyone else's ideas, I'm just typing out what I've been thinking. I love what they've been doing, but I just think Fantasyland could do with some new events. Magic Kingdom is my FAVE so..yeah. :):)

GREAT IDEAS!! And nice first-ish post! My thoughts:

YES YES YES on FotF!! Great idea!

Villains actually once had a ride planned just for them... search "Villain Ride, Villain Land, Villain Mountain" on these fourms. You'll get a lot of great hits!

NBC is a touchy subject for management. HM's like their baby, and they don't want it to be covered in NBC (wich I think is a great idea). They were actually thinking of placing a totally new ride in DHS based on NBC, and the idea is still floating around!

Wonderfull BatB idea. Many have had similar ones, but as long as we have the show at DHS...

Angain, GREAT first post!

:o:o Yeah, I'm a newbie here, but I just was browsing the forums and saw Imagineer, and thought, hey!

Anyways, I guess I understand that HM is the baby..I agree that it is seriously one of the BEST rides ever, and although NBC would only be for the holiday season, I think the idea of its own ride at DHS would be wonderful! I think if it was a mix of the way POTC is and Dinosaur, it would be really neat!

Thanks for telling me about the Villian-themed ride! I'm definitely going to check that out now!

I still think that BatB should have it's own ride/attraction besides the 20 min. show at DHS...I really think that the first animated movie to be nominated for an Academy Award should be portrayed better than a Storytime and a Show. I mean, when I go and see the Princesses at a meet and greet, I don't go to see Cinderella,:hurl:(sorry) I go to see Belle. And Belle and Beast usually don't have as much publicity as the other Princesses do, although they are just as important and special! :brick:

I was worried that someone would come on here and start bashing what I had to say. I just wanted to start something and see what people would say/add...
Thanks again!:D

I was thinking...

In FoF, when they decide to crown the "King of Fools" Clopin would address the children in the audience to help him find the "funniest face in all of Walt Disney World!" and the street performers would ask children if there parent(s) should be crowned, really getting them into the spirit of the show, and then Esmerelda would finally pick a parent and bring them up on stage, and Quasimodo would say something like "That's a face only a mother could love!" (The joke being he is really ugly, and it's funny he would say that) and then Clopin would cavort and dance and crown the parent and the song would climax and end with a bunch of confetti and streamers and maybe some flashes.

I'm thinking there really isn't much of an actual parade, but more of a central show, with very vivid, bright colors, reds, oranges, purples, yellows, very Mardi Gras in the sense of all the whirwind of color and people dancing and singing.

I'm thinking a stage set up for a daily performance (just like Family Fun Day Parade) and Clopin is the instigator for the frivolity, something like: "Ladies and Gentlemen, Lads and Lasses, here's the moment you've all been waiting for! The Festival of FOOLS!!" And that's when the peasants and dancers and CM's come our and start engaging in the "once a day party here in town, once a day, we turn our village upside down, once a day we crown a King of Fools, etc..."

I think that the addition of Frodo and the Guards wouldn't be necessary, since it's about fun and games, and being silly, the dampening of the fun by Frodo wouldn't be a good idea.

I'm just throwing ideas out there.

I really think that Fantasyland needs a facelift. I like what they have, but lets add a little more to it than long lines...anyone????

I think that Kim Possible would be better in Hollywood Studios. It just seems like it would fit there. Magic Kingdom is more about the classic Disney, and everywhere else is more about modern. Although it could do well in Epcot IF it had something to do with improving our world....

I absolutly LOOOOOOOOVE the FoF idea!
A Villians attraction would be great too. What about a show hosted by the Magic Mirror about the villians (kind of like Disney's Halloween Treat)
Yes to B&tB dark ride! I don't think the show in DHS matters. Look at Nemo (Epcot, DAK)

EXACTLY!! That is a great idea!!:eek:

I LOVE the idea of having the Magic Mirror tell the tale of the Villains. :goodnevil
The BatB dark ride would definitely work, exactly like you said, Nemo is in two places, and so is Toy Story (TomorrowLand and Hollywood Studios)...

I think that the Villain show would really fit in nicely with the MNSCHP. I mean, what better holiday to play up the Villains than Halloween? :p

And thanks about the FoF. I know that I'm just a newbie:o but I thought I was on to something there.

One thing I would love to see happen, that I think could be Disney's answer to the new mega Harry Potter ride, would be to convert The Great Movie Ride into a new high tech thrill ride featuring a segment where riders could take part in a custom made short film. I actually came up with a concept for it and everything.

Basically, the exterior would remain the same but line area would be converted into the Disney Film Institute. The giant theater room I would like to see made into smaller screening rooms ala Test Track. There, a pre-show would explain that the DFI was designed to showcase the magic of Disney films, both classic and modern. Their latest discovery is a way to literally travel into the movies. My original vehicle idea was basically a copy of the Spider-Man ride vehicle, but since I believe Universal owns that concept, I could see a modified version of the Dinosaur vehicle working too. The main portion of the ride would be a journey into the world of Disney movies ranging from classic to more modern, allowing riders to experience some really cool segments from Disney films with some intense motion. The second part, which would probably be the coolest, as well as the most complex, would allow riders to take part in the creation of a custom short film. There would be touch screens inserted similar to SSE that would ask each rider what language they speak and then a series of questions. These questions would help determine what kind of movie the riders would be making. Then, after the setting is explained (several possibles I came up with are pirate adventure, space and jungle exploration), the riders would be thrust into a custom "soundstage" where the vehicle would move around simulating whatever situation they get. Then, randomly during the ride, a camera would come on and a line would appear at random for a rider to say during the ride. The whole thing is recorded of course. After it's done and the riders exit, they enter a second mini theater where they can watch their finished film and then enter a gift shop where they can purchase a copy of their film.

It may not be a practical idea, but you do have to admit that it would be really cool if it could be done.

i think the villain idea is fantastic! i personally would love to see it taken a step further...perhaps given it's own section somewhere. i don't know where but it would be great. perhaps called Villain Village. and just a few rides and a themed restaurant, maybe a dark dungeon of sorts or something. nothing too scary, along the lines of haunted mansion or pirates (in the dungeon theme).

i just think it would be nice to see some villain action besides MNSSHP and FANTASMIC. And they cut the villain meet and greets, their appearance in the parades and fantasmic to 2 nights a week? ridiculous!
i've never been to that because i am a full time student and my school gives no fall break. so i couldnt just spring down there anytime soon to check out some villains. this is why FANTASMIC is my fav show because of all the villains!

i think a villain ride is more than needed! :sohappy: long live the villains

No no no! The lines that the people say! In the heat of the moment, people might not really see that they have to say things, and the video may turn out... well, screamy! But the video thing in general would be good, but I feel bad for the people screening the footage!

That part could be cut out if needed because it probably is too impractical. Still, it would be pretty cool if it could be pulled off.
