Some Info I Came Across

I've said this before... every Disney attraction should be a unique experience you can't get at your local amusement park. Every little amusement park has a little auto ride like this, and many of them are BETTER than Disney's (longer, better theme, more interesting cars, etc.).

The speedway should be updated or removed.

This is exactly my problem with Indy. My kids can ride a better version of this ride at home.

Well, that and the theme is totally out of place!

Just keep in mind that even if they did replace Indy Speedway (gasp!) then it MIGHT be replaced by something even better. Nostalgia is great (I loved Indy as a kid as well for all the aforementioned reasons) but history should tell us that WDI has the ability to replace some attractions with even better ones.

And yes, they also have the ability to do the opposite ... lol

Does anyone know what is going into the new theatre that was built recently well renovated. This is where Pocohantas and Huntchback were at.

It is now a special events theater. No regular show is housed there as of yet and I have not hear of one on the way.

Is that right? We visited Aquatica last year and I have to say that the whole family was impressed. We really enjoyed it. Do you have any info about their expansion?

Thanks!

I'd have to ask for specifics, but I do know it was approved a few months ago (later actually than originally planned due to the Inbev takeover), but it will add substantially to the park's capacity.

Aquatica will be able to equal TL or surpass it in capacity when this is all done.

But it needs it. Every day I was there this month (11 in a row) the park closed by 11 a.m. or noonish ... being a night spirit, it really was a PITA that I couldn't get into Aquatica until 3 or 4 every day I wanted to go (even as an APer)

I do agree the water park expansion really helped TL, but why does BB not get any love?

I say, if you want room in TL, tear down Stitch's Celebration stage and go from there. :sohappy:

BB is simply much more difficult to expand since pretty much all the slides are built off of the mountain. While I believe CnG sticks out a little at TL, an attraction such as this would really be difficult to fit into BB.

Plus I believe BB's capacity may be larger to begin with, so expanding TL certainly seems to make the most sense.

I always wondered why they don't just put a cheap refurb on Crush n Gusher (change the signage) and make it Finding Nemo based. All you'd have to do is put some pictures of Crush the turtle on the logo; record Crush and Squirt telling people to lie down with their legs crossed etc and then maybe make the tubes look like turtle shells?

Why would they need to? The current factory theme works fine with the whole idea of TL, where does Finding Nemo fit into a tropical town hit by a storm?

Not that it isn't a good idea, but seems unnecessary on a ride that is already popular and fits in with the existing area.

We were told during the Grand opening back in April of 2008 they had the expansion plan almost green lit to add some more slides and such... possibly near the wavepool area, (slide tower complex might fit there) as they were always closed to capacity even during previews. the inbev takeover delayed a lot of stuff...

Cool.

I went back and read a few of the rumors that posted in another threads earlier this year. The two possibilities that were floating around at the time were a new tower with up to 4 new slides and a water coaster through some kind of animal environment. The two possible animal exhibits that were mentioned in the rumors I read were flamingos or tortoises.

These are all old rumors, so maybe none of them are happening. Although I guess if some kind of expansion has been approved, it is reasonable to assume that one or both of these ideas could be included in the expansion.

We went to Aquatica last September and pretty much had the place to ourselves in the mornings. The afternoon's were busier, but hardly packed. My 3-year-old loved Rao's Rapids. We actually spent hours at a time just riding the rapids. It's such a unique attraction! I'm amazed it has been duplicated all over the place by now.

Any leaked blueprints yet?;)

Nah. The current theme works fine. If anything Disney just needs to elaborate on the current theme. But I don't need anymore Nemo on my vacation. ;)

Went to Aquatica last August. The place was packed so we didn't ride any of the slides, but had a great time. The rapids were great, the wave pool fun, and the kids water park was fun for all of us.
