Some Epcot Updates

I haven't kept count on how many days the globe has been out, but part of me tells me the globe is back too soon from a major rehab. Or, does time fly by that fast?

I'm probably in the minority here, but I liked Illuminations without the globe. Yes, the globe is cool, and all, but if you're not in "the perfect spot" the whole "globe thing" is useless anyway because you can't see it. At least with the fireworks they've used as a filler, it didn't matter where you sat as the viewing was great no matter what.

Judy

I know what you mean.I'm kinda hoping that they keep the new Pyro effects when the Barge returns.

Im sorry but I cant help but echo these sentiments. The Globe was finally scratched on the 23rd(?) of August...or at least around that time. Thats only 2 and a half weeks. They were originally saying that the globe would be out for 3 to 4 weeks. Dont mistake, I AM NOT COMPLAINING, I am very happy that they got the job done so fast, but I am also hoping the refurb was quality work and not rushed to squeeze into some sort of unreasonable time frame.

Or perhaps the damage wasn't as extensive as we thought?

I dunno.

It's been back in the marina covered in scaffolding. Hopefully they had enough time to do all the prep before pulling it from the show, so once it was out, they were 100% ready to get going with it.

Ooooo! Thursday! Well, well, seems a bit early, but here's for it, as long as quality was not sacrificed.

REQUEST: For anyone who goes to get video of the newly redone globe, regardless of when he/she is able to get it, can you keep the camera focused on just the globe for the full duration its playing video? At this point, I couldn't care less about the rest of the show; I just want to see what the globe's been showing all these years.

Since the original title of this thread was Epcot updates, some minor stuff from last night.

About 5 booths for FW up in the area from Future World to Mexico.

Construction well under way in the empty area east of Germany, presumably for the Australian walk-about.

Construction also well under way between France and Morocco. Don't know what's going in this area - last year was the centennial celebration for Oklahoma. But it might be an area for Louisiana.

I say that because with the "Cities in Wonderland" theme this year, the WDW list doesn't say New Orleans, it says Louisiana.

Finally, the ship was missing from behind America Gardens Theater. This may be old news, but I hadn't noticed.
