Yeah, not sign of it today.... We landed, and then we hit Epcot straight away.

However i was stoked to see Soarin' at walk on status, thanks to the massive downpour of rain.

While I dont plan on being at Epcot every night, I'll try and bring back pics if it makes an appearance while we are there.

Cool...And recent reports point to it coming back on Saturday.

Here's a little info about the Golden Dream from the Coquina Engineering and Construction, Inc. web site:
The Golden Dream at Disney's EPCOT Center is an historically accurate representation of an American Sloop, circa 1776. While she gives the appearance of being an actual working sloop, the Golden Dream in reality is simply an elaborate facade. The idea was to create the shell of an actual boat, using lighter, cheaper and more durable materials than the real thing. The engineering concept stemmed from Coquina’s experience with all types of floating structures, especially docks and marinas, as well as theme park structures. The entire process, from bid to launch, took only three months.
The ship was damaged during Hurricane Charley in 2004 but was restored and a rededication ceremony was held for its return on June 5, 2006. You can see a video and pictures of the ceremony over on Laughing Place:

That would be awesome!! I arrive on Sunday for a week long trip, and orginially I was really bummed because I thought that the globe wouldn't be around.

When I'm at Epcot on Sunday, is there a way I'll be able to know if the globe will be in the show that night for sure? Are cast members likely to know?

I work at Epcot, and if I see the Earth Barge on the water within the next few days, I'll post the news as soon as I can on my 'Berry. :)

I don't know if this is always going to be the case, but I love the sync of the last blast of fireworks. It seems like it's all over, and then BAM! This video was added to YouTube yesterday so I assume it was taken last night/very recently since obviously the globe is not there.

That last blast has always been there. One of the very cool things about that is that every version of IllumiNations has ended with the same pyro.

Yes, but he's speaking of the timing. I love it to.
I remember watching the show a couple of years ago, live, and seeing those last mines go off. Of course I knew that there was supposed to be a final blast but it never came. Then a second later, it caught everyone off guard.
Love it. :)

I've never seen those not fire, they seem to be one of the most reliable parts of the show.

Still no globe, but here's to the perimeters finally operating for me! The last four times I've seen the show (every night save yesterday) they've been nonexistent and that saddened me deeply. I'm exceptionally happy they decided to be there tonight. :p

Yeah they are a neat part of the show, especially if you happen to be right beside a launcher. LOL
