Trip Report Solo: A Disneyland Story - My first trip by myself!

Alright, I won't get too into it, but there's been a lot of rough stuff in my life the last several years. Depression, anxiety, family member deaths, family members battling (and surviving) cancer, issues with school. A bunch of stuff.

But, I'm graduating soon. I have, with plenty of therapy and counseling, gotten too a very liveable and manageable point with my mental health. Family member health is stable and safe.

Life was dark for a while, but I've made it out the other end and things are looking bright.

After saving up for about a year, I've finally got to the point where I can take my dream solo trip to Disneyland! My first time since 2005 when I was nine years old.

It's gonna be a real budget trip, but I'm so excited! I made it work and I can do it!

I'm in the airport now ready to fly across the country!

Today is a travel day, then I have four park days, then a travel day to take me back home!

Shows aren't really my thing usually. But I'm glad I took the time to do this one! The sets and projections amd puppets were all incredibly effective and interesting (other than the weird wolf section which just looked off). The things they added and cut from the story really improved it in my opinion.

I wish Finding Nemo in DAK had the same production value as this show did, because Nemo is a really great show held back by being too cheesey and weak effects (though the puppets are mostly great)

I can't stand Frozen sometimes and didn't really enjoy the show when I first saw it. Maybe I have to try it again and see if it is better. Just wait till Frozen 2 comes out and they have a updated show
I've always thought that Frozen was a great movie that then had a bunch of odd and too goofy stuff thrown in and messing with the good stuff. If Elsa was the main character instead of Anna, or if Elsa and Hans were more dual villains with Anna caught in the middle, it would have been better

But the play at least does a better job of making the world feel alive rather than feel like there's only three people in their entire universe. Plus, it down plays Olaf and hints at Hans as evil earlier. Still not perfect (Trolls are a big issue, feels oddly "soft" even by Disney standards, parts too goofy). But better. Plus, I'm a suckker for cool puppets and effects in live shows

HAVE YOU RIDDEN SOARIN YET?
Yes! Did Soarin, always a classic. I was disappointed when I heard this one switch to 'Around the world" too. But it's still a great experience!

Then I did Zephyr to get a lovely view over the water at Pizar Pier all lit up at night. California Adventure really comes alive at night! More than any other park I've seen, the difference is amazing. Then leisurely stroll through the lit up pier.

Now, I'm about to enter Radiatior Springs to snack, ride Mater, wander, and finish up the day with Racers
