Anyone seen the latest at Mouseplanet? Seems the rumours are getting stronger that WDWs Soarin` may not be a straight lift from DCA afterall...

Anyone know anymore?

Sounds good to me. Even though DCA version is great, it would be nice to see a new video, but why limit it to the United States, they should tie it in with The Land, and fly over different types of impresive structures, man made and natural

I concur...but hey if we do get an exact clone...I won't complain...Soarin' is a cool ride, I mean, its nothing out of this world...but its nice (something new for Epcot is good, I guess)....

i've been on it... it's a great ride... but i agree with the rest... CA's version does not belong in epcot... but that goodness they are changing it...

Not sure how true this is, but I would welcome it much more than Soarin' over CA.

Once again, I hope it ties into the themes of Symbiosis that give the Land its meaning.

I think it's great that they want to do Soarin' Over America. But they've got to keep the smells. As long as they are there, I'm happy. And the score too. The score is great. :D

I think Soarin over CA is nice but seriously overated and not worth the crazy wait it's going to be once it opens in Epcot.

I'm surprised that people are not so impressed with Soarin' Over California... Not only do I absolutely love this ride, but every person I know who has ridden it has loved it, and these are people that have been to just about everything else in a Disney park! I've especially noticed that a lot of adults love this ride. It's relaxing and very calming, which is nice after a day at the parks. I think that Soarin' will be a breath of fresh air, unlike any other ride at WDW, just as it was for california.

Imagine20, remember that most of the people on this forum do not reflect the opinion of the average Disney guest. These people are hardcore Disney fans, and thus their opinions are frequently quite different from the norm (Disclaimer for the ruthless: There's no negative connotation implied by the prior statement, so stop looking for one. There's nothing wrong with being a "hardcore Disney fan").

And yes, Imagine20, I find Soarin' to be one of Disney's finest attractions and as does everyone else I know who've experienced it. I'm elated Epcot will soon be providing a similar experience.

Soarin' is a nice ride, but as has been stated above, it is "seriously overrated". I agree with the statement 100%. I think the reason people tend to "love it" is they are comparing it to the other attractions at DCA, and not necessarily to other attractions at other Disney parks. Whenever someone visits DCA and you ask them how it was, they usually speak highly of Soarin'. But think about it, if you were at a Six Flags park and they had an attraction like Soarin', you would probably be saying, "Wow, this thing is awesome!". But it's because you'd be comparing it to everything else in the park, which would be pretty unimaginative by comparison. I predict that Soarin' will be well-received at Epcot (and will probably have long lines at first because of high expectations), but I doubt it will result in the ranting and raving it's gotten at DCA.

I finally rode Soarin' at DCA over the weekend. When the ride finally got up and running, they said it was down due to "inclement weather," I found it to be a great attraction. Not in my top ten, but definitely something one should do.

Soarin' is my 3rd favorite Disney ride, all around, following Mission: SPACE and Tower of Terror...it's just a beautiful ride, and extremely imaginative with an innovative ride system and incredible score. I don't find it over-rated at all. The only thing that I felt could use some work was the short queue, but they are fixing that in our ride (by necessity...we have a rather long queue).
