Soarin' movie to change to a global theme?

hate to burst some peoples bubbles but its not going to be Soarin' Over the World. I am 100% sure that it will be Soarin' Over America. I know one cast member with whom I worked with who works there that confirmed it along with a very high up person who is over alot of the computer work for the whole resort who confirmed it. From what I was also told is that the info was included in the cast member news paper that Walt Disney World puts out. Soarin Over America would be better then Soarin Over the World since not everyone who visits the USA gets to see all the sights such as the Grand Canyon or the Statue of Liberty. From what Ive been told is that the filming for Soarin' Over America has already started and it could be ready as early at 2010.

Presumably these people have seen all the sights over the world then?

People don't go to Walt Disney World to see America, they come to see Disney. Thematically, seeing as Epcot is dedicated the wider world and its community, a global theme would fit in far better than a US snapshot.

As Long as the ride isn't down when I go in 2009. Whether it's "Soarin' Over California, Soarin' Over America, or Soarin' Over Beagle, Kansas", I just love the ride and would hate to see in being worked on when I can't wait to take my family on it. :sohappy:

Do they really have to wait for popularity to wane to make a new experience? I think it would be great to have a number of films on offer. Disney is all about making customizable experiences these days, so why not make Soarin' a realistic flight terminal that lets you choose your own destination?

Oy, but please, not a Florida-only film, there's so much more to the world.

It's like you read my mind!

Personally, I was disappointed with Soarin' when we first rode it. I expected one long continuous film, not several clips. The ride was amazing of itself and in parts felt very realistic. The jumping from scene to scene ruined it for me!

I've always thought there should be a number of different films and it should be pot luck which one you get! And I am all for a global theme. Coming from Engalnd, it would be good to see more of a focus elsewhere but I agree with ending in Epcot as it would be like you were coming in to land there!

I don't like this idea. Imagine you go there and every time you wait 45 minutes to see Soarin you get stuck with the film you watched last trip. With Tower of Terror it is the same core experience. With Soarin if they didn't give you a choice of films and randomly stuck you with one I think people would get frustrated.

Assuming they are not frustrated with the one they are stuck with now?

Its crap, close it down, lets have a character meet and greet with seasonaly themed tat.

Are you having a bad day, Pumbas?

It's a great ride, a great attraction, and one that will live forever in hearts and minds of generations to come.

As the poet Robert Burns once said, "Aye, Laddie. Tis a great thing to go a Soarin'."

Winston Churchill once said, "This truly was Disney World's finest hour."

Tennessee Willliams once said, " off you er!"

That is a different matter. That is the only film available. If you have 2 films to offer, naturally many people will want to experience both films either on the same trip or on another trip. There are 2 theaters, why randomize the experience? Give people the choice on where they want to fly. With a purely random film selection, you will always have a 50% chance of never seeing the other film. It is possible that you would never get to experience both films. Disney would never go that route.

I'v never seen the cowboy version of The Great Movie Ride.
The GMR has two sides at one point.
We always get the ganster.

I think they use the cowboy one only during peak times.

Don't worry it won't be down. As I said before it has yet to go down since it opened three years ago. It is the most popular ride at WDW so it's kinda hard to close it for refurb.
As for the scents they are changed out every month so you may have been there before they were changed and they were weak. Right after they are changed out the theaters reek of oranges.
