Soarin' Expansion and new Soarin' Around the World film

Ive always been curious as to why people love to proclaim how awful they think Soarin' is because they rode it so many times it got boring (thats not Soarin's fault). Or they feel the ride is not good enough or fun enough for them? If thats the case, what did you expect when you entered an attraction called SOARIN', a loop to loop roller coaster? Id love to see their personal version of what Soarin' should be. Probly not a good one.

For those who have motion sickness issues, thats another issue and I understand why it would not be "fun", but some people just seem to hate it for the sake of hating it.
I can count my rides on one hand. The ride system is pretty cool but beyond that the ride has done nothing to bring me back. The film is in such bad shape that I just dont ride it simply for that. I will obviously ride it once it goes through its upgrade but I cannot fathom many repeat rides for me just because there is not much substance to it. Meanwhile I can go across the pavilion and ride some silly little boats with a huge grin several times a visit and never get tired of it.

My only problem with Soarin is that the film quality is so very bad, the last time we rode there were black spots all through it from the film degrading. I haven't really seen people hating it for the sake of hating it.

Soarin has always been on our family's Must-do list, however this past summer we noticed the black dots and I will say they were a bit distracting. But of course Disney has already seen this and are on it (ie the refurb), never really heard anyone hating it for the sake of it. Many of the people that were first timers riding it with me were amazed! Lots of hooping and holloring and leg lifting, I think it will always have that "factor" of surprise and amazement to people who have never experienced anything like it before.

See... isn't it wonderful that Disney can be many things to many different people...

It doesn't all have to appeal to you, and you don't need to defend your position on it. We all have likes and dislikes, and Disney attempts to serve something to everyone. They have never said that every ride/attraction/event is for everyone, and personally I never expected it to be.

I have. And Ive complained plenty about the black spots in the film. I even joked last year in a post how they feel like family because Ive literally watched them grow over the years. I notice them every time, but the ride is still enjoyable. I moaned about ALL the tiny details in the parks for a long time. I still get upset when they allow a show or attraction to diminish, but I realized that I can still enjoy the same shows or attractions and then send an email or speak with someone there and voice my concern. But Im not gonna let a black spot on a screen ruin my experience. At least not anymore.

Disney should not allow it to happen in the first place, but at least theyve stepped it up as of late and started refurbing rides in a timely fashion, i.e Pan, Splash, POTC, HM, ST. Soarin will be looking great soon too. Fingers crossed. If you want me to complain about a ride, it would be TGMR. The new version is meh, but every time I ride, the actors get worse. Seriously worse. Like Disney is trying to give us the worst show ever and see how long they can do it.

What did crash test dummies being tested have to do with the future? In all its orange and white stripped barrier and mid 90s industrial feel glory?

At least the current version is themed to match the park. Which is saying something.

I definitely agree that the new version fits better into the theming of the park but it's still a very sterile ride

Thank you. I understand the new version's shortcomings, but I enjoy the spirit of its effort. I think the tone it strikes is better than that of its immediate predecessor, and closer to that of its earliest ancestor.

I think they are both E Tickets and SSE is a must do every time for me. Lots of interesting things to do in Epcot but Soarin' and Maelstrom/Frozen down for refurbs and TT down for rain is a pretty nightmarish scenario with big crowds.
Hopefully they add so entertainment at imagination, or the Odyssey or maybe innoventions before it goes down. Which I doubt.
