Let’s get slightly more topical this time,
shall we?!

What I wanna know is....

What are your top four favorite Resort hotels at Walt Disney World?!

Doesn’t matter if you’ve stayed there or not, all reasons for your list are perfectly valid!

Tegan’s Top 4:
1. The Contemporary
2. Old Key West
3. Boardwalk
4. Polynesian

The Contemporary is simply iconic, a perfect representation of that late 60s-early 70s Space Age aesthetic. It’s still incredibly modern feeling today, and the views of the Magic Kingdom are to die for! And Monorail transportation!!! Last time we stayed here, I didn’t set foot anywhere that I couldn’t travel by Monorail!

Old Key West feels like it’s own little town. It just sprawls! Plus there is water transport to Disney Springs, which is nifty. This may feel slightly high on the list to some, but this is the resort I’ve stayed at the most, as my family got into DVC in its very first year. Fun fact: this actually used to be called the DVC Resort!

Boardwalk is just a dream! Especially at night! There is just a unique atmosphere that feels almost like an extension of Main Street USA to me in terms of nostalgia for a bygone era (that you never personally experienced). Walking distance to Epcot?! Umm, YES!!! There is also water transport to Epcot and DHS, and bus transport to MK and AK making this resort (along with the other Epcot resorts) quite possibly the most diverse in terms of types of transport available!

The Polynesian is just paradise! The luau dinner show is absolutely spectacular! I dearly miss the old lobby. But this resort’s architecture is as majestic and captivating to me now as it was when I was a tiny child. I just love it!

Alright!! Let me hear your top 4!!!

This list changes so many times for me!

1. Wilderness Lodge - one of the few resorts where the music makes the resort. Plus the train room in the Villas puts it over the edge.
2. Boardwalk - This one has truly grown on me over the last few years! The location is perfect walking to both DHS and Epcot
3. Yacht & Beach Club - I like these so much I have the candle fragrance that you smell in the resort. It's called Green Clover and Aloe if you want your house to smell like the Y&B Club!
4. Contemporary - The classic Disney resort

Seeing those Universal candy bars has given my own idea for a candy bar or two, if any of you would like to hear.
Sure! I Love Food Imagineering
So, by popular demand, I have come up with not one, not two, but three new Universal candy bars, none of which have actual names since I'm no good at titles.
The first of which is for Jurassic World, themed to the Aviary. The candy bar has reliefs of Pteranodons and Dimorphodons, with the Aviary in the back. The flavor is cotton candy and has mini marshmallows to give it an airy texture.
The second is themed around Frankenstein's Monster. It has the famous monster miniature, as well as lightning bolts and a little windmill referencing the original 31 movie. It is green for the mint flavor and has orange bits (another reference to the original movie).
The final candy bar is themed after Popeye the Sailor Man, decorated with the iconic sailor man, his boat, anchors and spinach cans. Expect it as mint chocolate with sea salt caramel.

Cruella was very good and I don’t want to hear any other opinions 🤬

Ok seriously, it was really fun. I had a great time watching this. Yes, it has a lot of flaws, but the messiness of the script made it better??? The campy vibe of the film made it very enjoyable. I would give it a 4/5!

Yeah, from what I've heard, the movie isn't really that bad and if you treat it as it's own separate thing, it's a good time. The problem is that, well, you have to treat it as it's own thing to really enjoy it. If you don't, you're just going to be baffled by how much this is "Cruella-in-name-only." Like, it feels like they had a good, solid film about fashion designers, and then Disney slapped the Cruella name on it for brand-name recognition, resulting in most of the ham-fisted call-forwards like the whole "Dalmatians killed my mom" thing.

Again, doesn't seem like a bad film, just one that has nothing to do with the source marital.

This concept is making me want to return to my personal dream resort concept. This nature-prominent approach to Disneyland is something that would fit my concept like a glove.

Going to be a super professional host and vent my work problems on here because I just can't stop thinking about it and could use some advice. So our store did shut down for a few months when the pandemic first started but we were back open by June. From June to December I was making roughly 8-900$ a paycheck. Very standard, pretty much fixed in place "9-5, five days a week" sort of schedule. Things got complicated at the start of the year. I was going on a 30th birthday trip and would be gone for a week, and had let everyone know MONTHS in advance. My only other coworker at the time decided that she was going to take a new job right before I left for said trip which really screwed over the schedule and caused us to have to hire a new person.

Well, I don't know what changed or who peed in my boss's cereal, but basically AS SOON as I got back from that trip everything changed. The attitude for sure, but especially the hours. I'm now making roughly 3-400$ a paycheck, but I also feel like my boss is ON ME for every little thing. I used to stay after the alley closed to organize stuff like the art room and the kids books, but she got on me about that because she couldn't afford to keep me on after alley closing. Well lo and behold the art room got filthy because I DIDN'T FREAKING HAVE ANY TIME TO ORGANIZE IT and somehow that's my fault. That's like...one of many examples of hypocritical "why didn't you do THIS??" BS that's resulted in the whole I'm forbidden to stay after the alley is closed thing.

Breaking point to me was tonight though. That's why I was so Emo Jones on the podcast. Imma put it simple for you folks. California law is that employers CANNOT demand an unpaid lunch unless employees are working five hours or more. Now due to the unpredictable nature of when the alley closes I never know exactly how long I'll work but on average I'm there about four hours a day. When I'm there for five I will always try to clock out. To me, there's a big difference between your employer reminding you to clock out if you are staying over the five hours and my employer texting me a THREAT to dock pay if I didn't sign out for an unpaid half hour lunch EVERY shift, no matter how long I work. So there's days I come and go in three hours and now she wants to take away even more of that pay.

I don't know, I feel like a pretty genuinely BAD person after that. Like, she might as well scream in my face "YOU DON'T DESERVE TO BE PAID FAIRLY". Anyone got any advice? It's completely eating away at me tonight. Like, I feel like a dementor is in the room. :(
