India's Disney Resort, the newest Resort in the Disney family will soon be arriving to Bengaluru, India. Site of not one, but two new theme parks, the resort will be a new journey for the Disney company. Bengaluru, home to 12 million of India's estimated 1.3 billion citizens, offers a much more temperate and manageable climate thanks to it's elevation above sea level and location than it's larger neighbors to the north, Mumbai and Delhi.

Known as the Silicon Valley of India, this city is one of the least polluted in India and home to more lakes, parks and gardens than any other city throughout the country.

No matter the location or benefits of Bengaluru, placing the resort in India is a huge but worthwhile gamble. 1.3 billion people is a mind numbing figure but the reality is, only a portion of those would ever be able to afford a park visit. Twenty five percent of 1.3 billions is still a lot of people. With it's ever growing tech sector and numerous academic institutions, Bengaluru is very tempting with its diverse and growing economy and expected population growth to 20 million by 2030.

More than the present, this is a bet on the future and the possibilities that India provides not just the Disney Parks, but the Disney brand as a whole. Hollywood film grosses have seen an uptick in recent years, and a number of Disney films lead the all time gross charts led by the live action Jungle Book, and several of the Marvel Cinematic Universe films from the Avengers and Captain America series, and more recently Thor: Ragnorak and Black Panther.

A great deal of capital will be required to build and start the parks, and the country itself will need to continue to work on its infrastructure and the gains it is making at increasing it's middle class. India represents a great base for the future while not impacting any of the current parks and also being able to draw from nearby wealthy Arab nations.

Enjoy the journey to India's Disney Resort, a resort distinctly Disney and distinctly India.

Location
Located NE of Bengaluru proper, the resort will have close access to both the city and the International Airport.

Resort
While Indians are not known as regular travelers, one of their favorite destinations is Dubai. Essentially situated between the resort's two parks, the Grand Dubai run by Jumeirah will bring a true over the top splendor to the resort. With an innovative design, sandy "beaches", water features and luxurious accomadations, this resort will be the perfect resting spot for guests. While the nightlife at the resort will entertain any who still have the energy after a day at one of the two parks.

Transportation
As part of the infrastructure improvements, a new rail line will be connected directly to the resort from a new stop on the line that runs between the airport and the city. This new line will end at the India Disney's Transportation Center.

The Resort itself will be serviced by standard parking, shuttles and 2 monorail lines. One monorail line will make a grand loop around the entire resort with stop at the Transportation Center which is also at the main entrance to Adventure Kingdom, the Grand Dubai Resort and the main entrance of The Walt Disney Studios Park. A second monorail line will run exclusively around Adventure Kingdom with stops at the Transportation Center, Wakanda, Explorers Bay and Sands of Eternity. Each stop will be themed to get your adventure off on the right foot to prepare you for the land. The line will actually run through the heart of Wakanda and blend seamlessly with the environs of the land.

ADVENTURE KINGDOM
Dedicated to the adventurer in all of us. For those whose exploits leapt from the pages, and those whose journeys inspired words of their own, come and experience those hidden corners of the globe, those tales and those places where only our imaginations have yet begun to explore.

Straying from it's normal castle park strategy, Disney has elected to go with a new direction for this park in India. At the heart of the park in lieu of a castle, will be a large body of water, Compass Lake. At night the Lake will be home to an extraordinary show of lights, water, and moving sets as the show will encapsulate all of the lands and adventures from the park in Mickey's Fantastic Voyage.

Care will also be taken to inject some of India into the park. It's land, it's stories and the places and sights that are either popular or familiar with the people in general. On opening day, the lands will fan out around Compass Lake and they are Explorers Bay, Wakanda, Seven Seas Lagoon, Fables & Fantasy Forest, Sands of Eternity, and The Forbidden Jungle.

Note: A planned expansion, Pandor: The Land of Avatar will be built timing with the release of the new sequels. Avatar is currently the 3rd highest grossing Hollywood film in India.

Explorers Bay
25251938.jpg

Come and experience some of the great excursions known to man in Explorers Bay.
Honoring those whose journeys would be remembered for all time.

Expedition Everest
Based on the ride of the same name in the Animal Kingdom, Expedition Everest will be a tribute to the brave sherpas who have led countless parties through the treacherous paths and cliffs to the mountains summit. The queue and story will be tailored towards these brave and less famous individuals.
While there will be no Disco Yeti, the coaster will instead focus on reaching Everest's peak before encountering the rumbling of an avalanche that will have you racing back down the mountain.

Around the World in 72 Days
Most are familiar with the work of famed writer Jules Verne and his Around the World in 80 Days, or the Disney film of the same name. Less though may be familiar with Elizabeth Jane Cochran, or her pseudonym Nellie Bly.

As a proposed story for her paper, Cochran set out to be the first to challenge and see if Verne's tale was actually possible. This omnimover dark ride will follow her on her journey as she makes her way around the world as the days on the calendar pass by and she eventually completes the feat in 72.

Seven Seas Lagoon
Pirates of the Carribean
As the feature E-ticket attraction of the Seven Seas Lagoon, Pirates of the Carribean will be an exact replica of the recently built award winning attraction of the same name in Shanghai.

20,000 Leagues Under the Sea

Sherwood Forest
Never utilized as an attraction in a Disney Park, this timeless story of robbing from the rich to save the poor will be brought to life in this interactive dark ride throughout Sherwood Forest. Using vehicles and technology similar to Buzz Lightyear, you'll follow Robin and Little John as you work to return the townspeoples gold.
The seamless blend of beautiful forest sets and minimal background screens will truly bring this forest to life.

Pages from Pachantantra
This will be a fantasyland style dark ride but focused on the Indian fables of Pachantantra. These fables date back to the 3rd century BC and use animal characters to exhibit human behaviors and stories (sound familiar?).
Unfortunately many of the pages of the collection have been lost to the wind and many of the fables have been scattered. You'll slowly ride through numerous scenes of these missing fables and collect the pages to return them as one.

Happily Ever After
Many of Disneys famed princesses have gathered for a night of festivities in the enchanted forest. This dark ride takes you through the forest as you get the opportunity to see and hear all of your favorites at this joyous occasion.

Sands of Eternity
Aladdin Stage Show
Disney is set to launch an Indian version of Aladdin the musical this year. It will be re-imagined to be make it locally relevant to India. Once it's run is complete and the park is opened, the show will move to the new Sands Theater for regular performances throughout the day, on a condensed version of the story.

For the 2nd park at India Disney Resort, Disney brass has decided to go with the studio model. While they've not been the most successful in pulling it off, it's not because it won't work, but because they haven't tried enough.

For India it's a great fit. It allows them to incorporate not only Hollywood but ther homegrown Bollywood into the park, along with blending in one of the Studios big IPs with a Marvel Land. Rounding out the park will be a animation area as it should have been done at Hollywood Studios with Mickey taking the lead role.

Great Movie Ride
Going back to the drawing board, Imagineers craft a Great Movie Ride for a new day and country. Using the same Ride system as its departed namesake in Florida, this attraction will also assume its place at the heart of the park.

Many of the iconic films from the original Ride will still be represented with Singin in the Rain, Mary Poppns, the Wizard of Oz and ending with Casablanca. However a more international selection of films will be added as well to represent the growing film industry around the world with films such as Crouching a Tiger, Hidden Dragon, and Mother India.

In lieu of having the drivers do too much acting, the shootout sequences will be dropped and instead include the trench scene from a New Hope as the ride will travel through the trench toward the exhaust portal that will open to the next film.

Hollywood Land
Tower of Terror

Dick Tracy; Hollywood Hideout
Warren Beatty finally relents. After years of obstinance, he's giving Disney permission to utilize the Crimestoppers ride planned for many years ago. Maybe the Oscars snafu brought some clarity to him.

Originally intended for the streets of Chicago, the story will be moved to old Hollywood to keep with the theme along Sunset Blvd as you work to take down a gang that is roughing up the film Studio.

Bollywood
Stunt Show

Bollywood Theater

Marvel
The Helix
1321999690.jpg

Shields newest super max prison, The Helix, has just opened and lucky you are one of the first to tour and see the inmates. This indoor coaster with ride vehicles that look like mini helicarriers will launch you at breakneck speed so you can enter the actual prison. As the ride slows to tour the facility, it has become apparent that something's not right. With varied pacing, the coaster will take you through every twist and turn of the prison, with a number of show scenes where you'll battle it out with the escapees.

Avengers Assemble

Animation Place
Mickey & Minnie Mumbai Madness
A sequel to the popular short of a similar name, M&MMM will utilize many of the anticipated effects that are rumored to be coming in Mickey and Minnies Runaway Rail. Hold on to your hat as you dart your way in and out of the traffic that is Mumbai.

As you cross over from the cartoonish land of Animation Avenue you are surrounded by oranges and tans and the subtle smell of pineapple. Here you have entered an island hideaway where adventure is waiting.

Classic Disneyland Jungle cruise.

8. Walt Disney’s Enchanted Tiki Room

Standard Tiki Room, with an upgraded soundtrack/script courtesy of Lin Manuel Miranda that should appeal more to the new generation while keeping the classic charm.

9. Journey to Te Fiti

This parks answer to a missing Splash Mountain will be a water ride across the seas to retrieve Maui’s hook from Tomatoa, and return the heart to Te Fiti. A wonder of animatronics and black light colors, the major drop of the ride will lead you right into the heart of the realm of monsters where a giant Tomatoa will attempt to attack you with his claws as you drift around him before escaping.

H. Albert Falls’ Jungle Goods Gift shop

Are you really an adventurer if you can’t prove where you have been? Pick up some souvenirs to take home to all the nay-sayers.

I. Bengal BBQ

Clone of the QSR stand in Disneyland where all your food comes grilled and stabbed by a skewer.

J. Aloha Isle

Again, as said with the train... Is it really a Disney Park without dole whip? I think not!

A WDW/Disneyland hybrid.

12. Peter Pan’s Flight

This ride will start in the lost boys special hideaway tree. In the queue we see Wendy playing mother and telling all the little lost boys about the story of Peter Pan and the Darlings. From there we are whisked into the story and back to the nursery where it all began for the ride itself which is more or less just an update of the Disneyland classic.

13. Lost Boys Hideout

A fun set of interconnected caves and playgrounds so little kids can embrace their inner lost boy (or girl) and adults can take a break for once.

14. Little Mermaid’s Undersea Adventure

Spooky Square

Spooky Square .jpg

Truely a frightening land not for the small or easily scared, Spooky Square is a place of ghosts and villains and nightmares galore! Enter if you dare.

image.png

22. Bald Mountain Coaster

Imagineers took what they learned from the Disco Yeti to create an even better wild mountain ride with a giant Chernabog that will try to steal your soul. Does not eventually get shut off and then never move again. Does not get reduced to a joke with flashy lights. Does scare small children. Be warned.

23. Haunted Mansion

Direct copy of WDW’s however does change to Haunted Mansion Holiday during the holiday season.

24. Skeleton Dance Spinners

Teacup style ride based on the Silly Symphony Skeleton Dance. “Cups” are decorated to look like skulls in both a black and white and sugar skull design.
