Purists: Your goal will be to create a one-man show for any Disney park or resort. This show must use only a single cast member and a musical instrument of your choice. The challenge will be to craft the show around the performers personality, use the location to your advantage, and create a memorable off the beaten path experience that adds just a little something extra to the Disney Magic!
Does it have to be a cast member or can it be an AA similar to PUSH?

With all the changes coming to Disney’s Hollywood Studios, it gave the Muppets a true mini-land in Muppets Courtyard. Today, I present to you…

Rowlf’s Piano & Italiano

Kab5cGqD6X2QqR8qHfvphqiUEP2RyXRtOoS8M7cd1dE8KlQk0KnAx1quJb2vV-vz5v1kCbNPgwaQ8d8kEUzu-BfcTDAGOKcj0WrfEOLCzQncWwboJw-wgcQcW_Djn2vS0_BEmdFw

Did you know that even though Kermit the Frog is the most famous and popular Muppet, he wasn’t the first true “star”? That would belong to Rowlf the Dog with his recurring appearance on The Jimmy Dean Show. Considering how he was the first star, you think he would get more love. Rowlf can’t be seen anywhere in the Muppet mini-land in Disney’s Hollywood Studios, including Muppet Vision 3D.

Mama Melrose’s Ristorante Italiano is a great Italian restaurant that fit perfectly in the Streets of America land. Now that the Streets of America is gone now, Mama Melrose seems out of place in an otherwise Muppet area. Rowlf’s Piano & Italiano will keep the Italian cuisine as it is better than the Italian food you can get at the Italy pavilion in EPCOT!

8qLcMkyoPk_N6j_jrDaJoHLcWrbzPmrt_t2fCN6oZBGZUHXqya1u3CIcSHzycWlTc7yPckEolHtrrHPzp7aFMwqjRrpnEvO-6NHoSdoCJQHTkcMoqvL8obpW05njSCS7DFKnZLWt

The walls through the centre of the restaurant that create sections will be removed. The new theme will be a fresh, new “5-star” Italian Restaurant. Tables will have new, padded chairs that are a new black colour and a nice, white tablecloth over every table. The “Christmas lights” and vines on the roof will be removed to have only the solo lighting around each table. Of course, the Muppets can only keep up a “5-star” act for so long. As usual, the Muppets have caused slight hints of chaos throughout the restaurant including imprints of the Swedish Chef’s hands on different tables and spots of black paint on the floor making it clear the Muppets rushed to get the restaurant ready.

The new theme isn’t the only addition to the restaurant, however. The open view into the kitchen is now closed and this hallway is removed causing the entrance/ exit of the kitchen to be moved closer to the front of the restaurant to appeal passerbyers of the delicious food. Replacing the hallway and the few tables also seen in this image will be a brand new stage. This stage will feature Rowlf the Dog in a fancy suit and have a black baby grand piano.

This Rowlf and Piano won’t just be a prop for guests to admire. Rowlf will put on shows all through the lunch and dinner hour. Rowlf will have a show similar to Sonny Eclipse’s show at the Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Cafe. While Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Cafe has great food (and incredible value), Sonny Eclipse is what makes it worthwhile to go.

(For those who haven’t had a chance to experience his show)

Sonny Eclipse is a more basic Audio-Animatronic that doesn’t have a lot of movement or interaction with the guests. This is where Rowlf will be a step above and beyond. Rowlf will be the newest A-100 AA as well as being a new spotlight in the Disney Initiative Program. Not only will he look realistic (as realistic as a Muppet can look), Rowlf will constantly interact with different guests throughout the restaurant using similar technology to the baggage scanner in the Star Tours queue as well as Mr. Potato Head in the Toy Story Queue.

Before the show, between the songs, and at the end of the show, Rowlf will have different quips and questions to different guests. Using cameras hidden throughout the restaurant, a Cast Member hidden backstage will be able to see all the guests throughout the restaurant to interact with guests personally. An example of some questions would be where the guest is from or what they are eating. If a guests were to respond with Mobile, Alabama or that they are having the Chicken Parmesan, Rowlf will respond with remarks such as “I’ve had some of my best naps in Mobile” or “I had the Chicken Parmesan once, but the Swedish Chef didn’t cook it enough so it suddenly started talking back to me. Never again”.

Speaking of songs, did you know Rowlf released his own album in 1993? Most don’t! Because of that, most of the album will be the set list for Rowlf’s show here. The beginning of “8 Little Notes” (found at 2:07 ) is an example of some non-guests quips Rowlf will also have throughout the show.

“You and I and George” (found at 23:10) will be removed just as I feel like it is not a song that would be appropriate in a Disney park. Otherwise,t the rest of the album will be used to total a show that’s about 35 minutes long. After the end of the show, a curtain around the stage will close to give Rowlf a “break” of 5 minutes. After this “break” is over, the show starts again from the top!

By changing Mama Melrose’s Ristorante Italiano to Rowlf’s Piano & Italiano, guests get a cohesive Muppet mini-land themed around the most underrated Muppet character.

@TheOriginalTiki I entered it here going off that it can be an Audio-Animatronic (my preference) but I have the Cast Member version typed up too if it needs to be that way!

Pionmycake presents a purist prompt:
-Danni Spink and Chaplin’s Big Break-

Screenshot_2018-03-06-22-58-44.png

-Her Character-

Danni (short for Dannielle) Spink dreams of becoming a star! To share her talents and passions with others. She’s a singer/performer who moved to Hollywood recently with nothing but a dream, gumption, and her full-size piano she treats like a pet and has named Chaplin (She thinks it is funny to name a musical instrument after a movie star since movie stars can’t make any noise and probably never will be able to. A movie with sound? How ridiculous!).

What you see at the top of the post are her glamour shots. In Danni’s mind, she always looks like that. In reality, her hair is often much more frizzy and messy. Her freckles shine through without the special make up and lighting for the photos.

She often has a determined look on her face and green eyes beaming with excitement. She may only be about 22 (that’s Hollywood speak for 26), but she is ready to take on the world. With her mix of old-Hollywood glamour, small town simplicity, and big city attitude she looks almost like the daughter of Hercules and Megara in a 1920s Hollywood setting.

966250_1330780015464_full.jpg

Personality wise, she is just full to the brim with spunk (hey! That sounds almost like her name! What a coincidence!). She is full of the grit and determination needed to make her dreams come true. Plenty of sass to go around. Very much a confident, fast talking kind of person. She is going to make her own path to stardom and nothing is gonna stop her. But she can also be very awkward and quirky. She’s got a lot of determination, but next to no experience. Her plan to make it big in Hollywood is to push her full-sized piano around the streets and perform for random people hoping to miraculously find a talent agent.

So, she is full of sass and gumption, but awkward and inexperienced. Almost like the daughter of Hercules and Megara in a 1920s Hollywood setting (I swear that comparison was unintentional and just came to me while writing this up that it works for both her personality and her appearance lol).

966250_1330780015464_full.jpg

This rough animation I made should hopefully help communicate her personality and appearance a bit more.

It is strongly implied that the small town she moved to Hollywood from is Main Street USA in the Magic Kingdom. Of course, with the 20 or so year time difference between those two lands, not much evidence can be found outside of a few throw away lines in her show. Like talking about missing the meatloaf at the Plaza back home (Referring to the meatloaf which is the signature item for the Plaza Restaurant despite the meatloaf being kind of awful). The biggest connection is when Danni mentions being named after her father who was a musician too and in a barber shop quartet. This is obviously implying that her father is one of the Dapper Dans.

dapper-dans-00.jpg

-Her Show-

Sunset Boulevard photo(c)Disney.jpg

She can be found pushing Chaplin (the piano) up and down Sunset Boulevard in Hollywood Studios. It looks super heavy and like a struggle, but in actuality it has some special wheels hidden that make it easy to push. Of course, Danni plays up the difficulty for comedic effect.

yamaha-m1ar-upright-piano-satin-walnut_grande.png

At times, she’ll ask big, strong looking guests to help her push Chaplin. Unbeknownst to the guests, a lock is activated so the big, strong guest can’t budge it. Danni will then ask a small child to help her. With the locks lifted, the child can push it with ease much to the delight and amusement of the crowds (and shame to the big, strong looking guest of course).

Once she has found a nice spot, she will settle in for a short show. She has three different shows, each last about five to ten minutes.

So, she will push her piano and have some fun with that drawing a crowd in for 5 minutes, perform show #1 for 7 minutes, push her piano to a new spot for 3 minutes, perform show #2 for 7 minutes, push he piano to a final spot for 3 minutes, perform show #3 for 7 minutes, and finally push her piano backstage. So, the entire performance will last about 32 minutes, but this can go longer if guests are more interactive as a lot of her show involves joking around with the guests and getting them to sing and dance with her.

Most guests will probably only watch one of her shows and leave to continue their day at the park rather than follow her to watch all three, and the format of three separate short shows helps allow guests to do that without feeling like they are missing anything. This also give the show a feel of constantly restarting which allows a lot of fresh guests to interact with keeping each performance feeling new. Plus, it gives good opportunities for devoted fans to see a longer show as each of the three are different and offer new stuff.

Of course, Danni is happy to take photos with guests in between shows. She even, sometimes, has autographed headshots ready to hand out to people.

-Her Music-

The shows are mostly full of peppy, upbeat songs from the 1910s/1920s. A lot of jazzy music and swing dance type songs. All performed live by Danni singing and playing Chaplin. Chaplin does have an autoplay mode that will allow her to dance a bit with guests. How does an auto play mode work in the 1920s? The answer is don't think about it. Chaplin is a very special piano.

There are few original songs written by Danni mixed in too. At least one per show. All the songs (original or otherwise) are shortened to about a minute and a half in order to keep the show length down. So, the shows are all about four songs with about thirty seconds of jokes/banter in between. Again, this can be a very interactive show involving Danni talking with the guests and interacting with them. So, the actual length may vary.

Here is a recording of one of Danni’s original songs, A Wish for my Love. I apologize that I was not able to write piano music well, so it is just my voice. I also apologize for my voice lol. This is one of the few slow songs that she does, but I think it helps add a lot to her character as I explain in the intro before I start singing. The lyrics are below.

--------------------------------------------------------
Someday, my name will be in lights
Someday, my dreams will come true
Someday, it will have been worth the fight
But until then I’m just here missing you

So, I’m
wishing, on a shooting star
Wishing, on a coin in a well
Wishing, that wherever you are
You always know that I think you’re so swell

Music break

So,
Know that, You’re in my heart
Just like, my hand in a glove
Until, we aren’t so far apart
I am just sending a wish for my love

Music Break

I am just sending a wish for my love
--------------------------------------------------------

Disney Music will produce an album of Danni’s songs and sell it in the parks (and release it on Spotify and other music streaming services).

Also, with the new season of American Idol coming to ABC (yes, they are bringing the show back and moving it to ABC. No, I do not know why any of that is happening), a special promo video will be put up with the finalists talking about how Danni Spink was their music icon and inspiration. Sharing their love of her spit fire personality, singing talent, and mix of small town charm and big city sass. Danni was an inspiration to the finalists to chase after their dreams of stardom.

-Her Best Lines-

Here I will just post random bits of dialogue from her or other random tidbits.

--------------------------------------------------------

“That’s Danni, D-A-N-N-I, short for Danielle. Quite the dapper name if I do say so myself. Named after my father who was a musician too. His barber shop quartet was the talk of town back at home. Of course, that is less impressive then it sounds when you realize that back home had a population of roughly negative seven. Not the place for me.”

--------------------------------------------------------

*While tired from pushing her piano*
“Come on, Chaplin. No stopping till we see our names in lights!”
*Runs for a bit while pushing the piano, filled with renewed determination*

--------------------------------------------------------

“I’m what we Hollywood folks like to call a triple threat. I sing, I play music, and I threaten people. So, you better watch yourself, sonny.”

--------------------------------------------------------

“I don’t just play other people’s songs. No! I’ve started to write my own. Let me play you one.”
*starts playing the piano*
I have a song in my heart that I must let out. And I have…”
*stops playing*
*pause*
“That’s all I have so far. It’s a work in progress. Bit rough at the moment.”

--------------------------------------------------------

*This bit of dialogue will happen shortly after telling guests why her piano is named Chaplin, reminding them that this is the 1920s and films are still silent*
“Some people in this town got a face for radio trying to make it into the pictures. Others have a voice for cinema trying to be singer. Luckily, I’ve got neither of those.”
*pause*
“Or both of those”
*pause*
“Well, whatever the good one would be. I’m sure you folks get what I’m going for.”

--------------------------------------------------------

*She does a bit where she teaches a kid how to play a simple two or three note song on her piano*
“Careful, kid. You make this look too easy no one will be impressed with us”

A/N: I know the idea of the Guardians of the Galaxy in EPCOT is controversial, and its basically hated. However, its happening, so we might as well make it as awesome as we can.

Introduction
Welcome to the greatest one man show on Earth, featuring fan favorite Star Lord, galactic hero. As him and his friends arrive in EPCOT for a sure to be fun adventure (in the Universe of Energy Pavilion), Star Lord will be taking guests on their own adventure via one of the two paths shown below.

Listen to the Music of the Experience Here!

View attachment 266600

Both paths start the same, so we can begin our tour there.

Star Lord (not actually Chris Pratt, unfortunately. Just a cast member who looks/sounds/acts like him - they have pretty good ones at Disney's California Adventure, so this is definitely realistic) comes out from behind the Universe of Energy Pavilion (soon to be a Guardians Ride). He carries his iconic Walkman (although it was destroyed in the second movie, who cares about the timeline!? :) If you need an explanation, we can say that he got a new one on Earth).

STAR LORD
Holy crud. There's a ton of people here. What are y'all doin' here?

-Pause. Wait for some kid to yell something about being on a vacation -

Woah, that's pretty cool kid(or other improvisational line, that fits with the response). You're a lucky duck. You know I was here once when I was a kid. My mom and I... Anyways, enough with the sappy stuff. I'm here on a secret mission. While the rest of the Guardians are prepping the ship to leave Terra, I have to recover the orb of imagination. Can I see a map?

He snatches a map from a random guest and draws a path on it with a sharpie. The path is either 'A' or 'B' as shown in the above map. He then shows the map to the audience.

See this here is the route to make it to the place where the orb is hidden.

He stuffs the map in his back pocket.

Say, you all could be of great help on this quest. He points to a small kid. After all, you're small and can fight into tight spots. Would you all like to join me? Pause. Great! Let's hook up some music though to EPCOT's speakers.

Star Lord runs to a large speaker 'hiding' in the bushes, and fiddles with the back of it. Suddenly the EPCOT park music stops, and is replaced by one of the iconic rock songs of Guardians of the Galaxy. Via location trackers inside of Star Lord's costume, the EPCOT park speakers will automatically change to play the music for SLAMA (Star-Lord's Awesome Music Adventure). Thus, although the experience uses advanced technology, it still appears to be a single man show - the guests are supposed to assume that Star Lord has wired his music throughout the whole park.

Path One (Red)
Wham Bam Shang-A-Langby Silver
Ooh, Child by the Five Stairsteps
Escape (The Pena Colada Song) by Rupert Holmes
Come a Little Bit Closer by Jay and the Americans

Path Two (Blue)
Hooked on a Feeling by Blue Suede
Brandy (You're a Fine Girl) by Looking Glass
Come and Get Your Love by Redbone
Mr. Blue Sky by the Electric Light Orchestra

Now this all seems pretty standard right? Between both paths, there isn't much variation. The Peter Quill actor will sing the music, and he will encourage the guests to sing along with him. He uses his map as a microphone, guitar, drumstick, or whatever he deems the song requires. He will dance will female guests (like twirl them) with their consent ('May I have this dance, ma'am?'), and jump on benches to sing (assuming that there is no people sitting on them). Overall, Quill's performance has almost no depth but is very fun.

Random Interactions
During the show, most of Star-Lord's lines will be unscripted and goofy. I have listed two of the stories he could tell below. The first is for when Ooh, Child comes on in the red path and the second for Brandy in the blue path.

PETER QUILL
Ah! Good memories to this song! There was this one time the Guardians and I were trying to stop Ronan who was this dumb Kree warlord or something. Anyways he had the infinity stone and was about to win. I distracted him via a 'dance off.' In honor of that, *points to a random guy who looks uninterested in the tour* Dance off Bro! You and me!

PETER QUILL
This song always remind me of my evil dad who wanted to destroy the universe 'cause he thought he was a god or something stupid. But there was this one time, I was trapped by some Badoonian savages and this song came on - it was the first time I've ever heard this song, mind you - and they took my Walkman and analyzed it. They were confused as heck! So in their confusion, I grabbed my Walkman and jet pack and flew out of there. Before father Ego came around, the song always reminded me of that success. Screw Ego for taking that away from me, man!

You probably get the idea...

Finale Scene
When you finally do arrive at the Imagination Pavilion, Quill thanks everyone for rockin' out with him. He is about to leave, but then smiles and says that he can afford to stay for pictures and autographs. A cast member escorter will also join Quill at this time for the new session.

Logistics
Now by this point you're probably thinking: alright, kmb. This is cool, but what else you got? I see tons of problems here. First off, my beautiful EPCOT music will be interrupted by this Guardians crud. What the heck!?!?! Also, I see tons of crowd control issues here. I mean, a mob of people are going to be interrupting traffic throughout EPCOT. Also, what if there is too many people who attend this event? Would anybody be able to here Star Lord?

Well, the first and third questions are the easiest. To answer the first one, you can enjoy your peaceful music the other minutes of the day. This experience should be under 15 minutes per run. The third one, Star Lord will be miked and hooked up to the same speakers as the rest of the Guardians music. His voice will be heard over the music, but you will still be able to hear the music much more prevalent-ly. This experience is much more about the music than about Star Lord, himself. He is there to help everyone loosen up.

Your concerns about crowd control are noted, but not necessary. The movement will not cause any more interference in the park than a large tour group. It's not a parade after all.

Conclusion
Overall, I believe that this project is great in EPCOT for all ways. They have already confirmed a slightly less fun version of the party to come to EPCOT, so the ideal is very realistic. I tried to make it as fun for guests via having you move around the park, and including fan-favorite songs from the movies. Thank you for your time, and best wishes to all competitors!

I believe I can now call my project completed! :D

Clef, Royal Minstrel of Fantasyland
medieval-bard-6.jpg

Who is Clef? Why, Clef is a friendly minstrel, always eager to share a song and tell the stories of the Magic Kingdom. His hair is black and messy, barely concealed by a red cap, festooned with white feathers, much like the hat Prince Florian (that's Snow White's prince) wears. His eyes twinkle with excitement, his mouth always ready to sing. He wears a golden tunic, tied around the waist with a sapphire sash. Upon his shoulders is a cape, shaded in a deep, dark red, with a bright red underline. Upon his legs, he wears black leggings, which pave the way for golden pointed boots. And of course, ever present in his arms is his trusty lute. Personality-wise, Clef is ever so friendly. He is what you would consider a "friend to all living things". He's always happy and full of energy, practically skipping through Fantasyland, playing a melody. He's always eager to strike up a conversation, and quick with a song.

His backstory: One day, Princess Cinderella and Prince Charming heard him singing and storytelling, entertaining some poor, ragamuffin kids. Impressed with his kind heart and quick wit, he was dubbed the Royal Minstrel of Fantasyland, and was encouraged to go out and entertain all the good children and good people who came to the Magic Kingdom. In addition, Sorcerer Mickey also helped him out, helping him learn all about the many stories of the Kingdom. So, whenever he tells the story of Cinderella or the story of The Sorcerer's Apprentice, he'll make sure to mention those.

Clef's show is simple: it's a storytelling show. Minstrels were quite a popular form of entertainment in medieval times, and their legacy lives on through Clef. Clef knows many of the stories that are told in the Magic Kingdom, and he is more than willing to tell them to all who come to this happy place. Clef has a rich baritone singing voice, soft as honey, and has a penchant to use an assortment of voices to bring the story's characters to life. He often includes many of the classic Disney songs in his storytelling, and he does all this while playing his lute. In some stories, he may even ask the audience to help him tell it, by acting out certain parts. In fact, I've heard that one some occasions, the characters may join him in helping tell their story. I've even heard that Cinderella often comes out of the Princess Fairytale Hall to hear Clef tell her story! But, seeing a character with Clef is something that doesn't happen all that often...

Basically, his show begins with him walking through the streets, singing a song from the story he is going to tell. Once he reaches his location, he stops, makes his presence known, introduces himself and tells a story. From there, the cycle repeats a couple times before he has to go on break. But of course, Clef is always able to pose for pictures and sign autographs for his new friends.

There are plenty of places he could show up, and the locations he visits differ with each show cycle. One show, he could be sitting nearby Cinderella's Wishing Well, or he could be sitting on the brick wall nearby Winnie the Pooh, or he could be found somewhere in Belle's provincial town. But wherever you find him, he's sure to be quite a surprise!

In fact, here's a sample of one of his shows: Winnie the Pooh and Tigger Too.

By the way, I may do more scripts for some of Clef's stories later on, up until the due date on Tuesday. It should be noted that whenever a character's name appears before a sentence, that means Clef is doing an impression of them. If not, he's speaking as himself.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
(As Clef walks to his spot, he sings a snatch of "Winnie the Pooh" and plays his lute. Once he's settled in his spot, he begins.)

Hello, my friends! Come gather around! My name is Clef, and I am the Royal Minstrel of Fantasyland. I sing the many stories this Kingdom has told over the years. Ah, I just love to tell stories. In fact, would you like to hear a story? Right now? (waits for response) Wonderful! I was hoping you would. Now, what to tell, what to tell? (He ponders this a moment, then he gets an idea) Aha! I know the perfect story! Let me see if you can guess it. It's a tale of a small group of forest animals, who live in an enchanted forest. You may recognize some of them: a rabbit, a piglet, a bouncing tiger, a donkey, and of course, a honey-loving teddy bear. Any guesses? (waits for response) That's right! It's Winnie the Pooh! One of my personal favorites! What do you say, my friends? Would you like to hear the story of Winnie the Pooh? (waits for response) Wonderful! Then let the story begin!

(playing "Winnie the Pooh" on lute) Before we begin the story, I'm sure you all know about Winnie the Pooh and his friends already. If not, allow me to introduce them all to you...

(singing) Deep in the Hundred Acre Wood, where Christopher Robin plays
You'll find the enchanted neighborhood of Christopher's childhood days.
A donkey named Eeyore is his friend; and Kanga and Little Roo.
There's Rabbit and Piglet and there's Owl, but most of all Winnie the Pooh.

Sing along, everybody! I'm sure you know this part!

Winnie the Pooh, Winnie the Pooh
Tubby little cubby all stuffed with fluff
He's Winnie the Pooh, Winnie the Pooh
Willy, nilly silly old bear!

One more time!

Winnie the Pooh, Winnie the Pooh
Tubby little cubby all stuffed with fluff
He's Winnie the Pooh, Winnie the Pooh
Willy, nilly silly old bear!

Very good, my friends! You all have wonderful singing voices! Now, there are many stories I could tell you about Winnie the Pooh, but this one is my personal favorite. Once upon a time...Oh, I just love that phrase. Those four words begin many a great story. They transport you to worlds unseen, and adventures just waiting to be had. In fact, why don't we all say that together, nice and loud? One, two, three... (with audience) "Once upon a time..." (himself) Very good, my friends. ("Winnie the Pooh" plays on lute) On a beautiful fall day in the Hundred Acre Wood, Winnie the Pooh was sitting in his thoughtful spot, thinking as usual.

(imitating Pooh) "Think, think, think..."

And while he was thinking, he heard a very familiar sound: Boing! Boing! Boing! And before he knew it, he was lying prone on the ground, sat upon by a bouncy character.

(imitating Tigger) "Hoo-hoo-hoo-hoo! Hello! I'm Tigger! T-I-double 'guh'-er! That spells Tigger!"

(Pooh) "I know. You've bounced me before."

(Tigger) "I did? Oh, that's right! You're the fella who's stuffed with fluff!"

(Pooh) "Yes; and you're sitting on it."

Yes, indeed, my friends. Tigger likes to bounce on people; especially when they least suspect it. For example, after bouncing on Pooh, he bounced on Piglet, who was in the middle of raking his leaves.

(Piglet) "Oh, d-d-d-dear! Tigger, you scared me!"

(Tigger) "Aw, shucks, Piglet. That was just a little bounce. I'm saving my biggest bounce for Rabbit!"

And off he went... (Clef bounces around in a circle, using the lute to imitate the sound of bouncing) ...towards the home of Rabbit. He was busy tending to his vegetables when...BOING! Tigger gave Rabbit a huge bounce, and sent carrots flying in all directions!

(imitating Rabbit) "Tigger, just look what you did to my garden! Why don't you ever stop bouncing?!"

(Tigger) "Why would I? Bouncing is what Tiggers do best!"

And just to prove it, Tigger bounded around the ruins of the garden, singing...

(Tigger; singing) The wonderful thing about Tiggers is Tiggers are wonderful things.
Their tops are made out of rubber, their bottoms are made out of springs.
They're bouncy, trouncy, flouncy, pouncy, fun, fun, fun, fun, fun!
But the most wonderful thing about Tiggers is I'm the only one!

(playing the song as an instrumental) And off he went, to do more bouncing. But as for poor old Rabbit, he was so upset about his garden being ruined, that he called over Pooh and Piglet for a meeting.

(Rabbit) "Something has gotta be done about Tigger's bouncing. No matter how much we like him, you just can't deny that he bounces too much! Now, I have a splendid idea. Tomorrow, we'll take Tigger for a long explore deep into the woods and lose him."

(Pooh) "Lose him?!"

Pooh didn't like the sound of that. It sounded too mean.

(Rabbit) "Oh, we'll find him again the next day. And when we do, he'll be a more humble Tigger. A small and sad Tigger. An "Oh, Rabbit, am I glad to see you" Tigger. It'll take the bounces right outta him!"

(plays "Winnie the Pooh" in minor key) And so, the plan was set. As soon as dawn broke the next day, Pooh, Piglet and Rabbit took Tigger for an explore. Tigger, of course, bounced far ahead of the others, far off into the misty woods. As the fog got thicker and the shape of Tigger's bouncy body disappeared, Rabbit hurried Pooh and Piglet into a log to hide. Tigger suddenly realized he was alone.

(Tigger) "Hall-oo! Hey, you blokes, where are you? Gee, they must be lost."

And so, Tigger bounced off into the forest, hoping to find his friends.

(Rabbit) "Hooray! Hooray, we've done it! My splendid idea is working! Now, let's go home."

But as they walked through the forest, they kept coming across a certain sand pit. Pooh said...

(Pooh) "I think this sand pit is following us, Rabbit. Maybe we're lost."

(Rabbit) "Nonsense, Pooh! I know how to get home! Just stay here--I'll prove it!"

And off Rabbit stomped. After a while, Pooh heard a familiar rumble.

(Pooh) "I think my honeypots are calling me. My tummy knows the way home."

(playing "Rumbly in My Tumbly" on lute) So, off Pooh and Piglet went. And as the fog cleared and Piglet could realize where he was...BOING! Who should appear before them but Tigger?

(Tigger) "There you are! I thought you were lost. Say, where's old Long Ears?"

(Pooh) "I think he's still in the forest."

Indeed, Rabbit was still in the forest. He had gotten hopelessly lost. And his mind was starting to play tricks on him. He started to hear strange sounds... Oh, I know. Let's act this scene out. Why don't we all act like the sounds in the forest? First, let's hear the whistling wind. (imitating wind whistle; waits for response) Good. Now, let's hear the low, croaking sound of the frogs. (imitating frog croaking; waits for response) Yes, that's wonderful. And there's a third sound, too: the sound of a caterpillar crunching on a leaf. Can you all crunch your teeth? (waits for response) Ooh. Now, in order to show how confused and lost Rabbit is, why don't we have all three sounds: the wind, the frogs and the crunching all play together? Just pick the sound you like to make the best, and we'll create a massive forest cacophony. Ready? Go! (lets the audience make noise for a while; then...)

All right, that was wonderful! Give yourselves a hand! Yes, Rabbit was starting to get overwhelmed by the sounds in the forest. But suddenly, he heard a familiar sound rising above the noise: Boing! Boing! Boing! It was Tigger! And for the first time in his life, Rabbit was happy to be bounced again.

(Rabbit) "Tigger, I thought you were lost."

(Tigger) "Aw, shucks. Tiggers never get lost."

So, off Tigger and Rabbit went back home. Rabbit was now a humiliated rabbit. A lost-and-found Rabbit. A "why oh why do these things always happen to me" Rabbit. But above all, he was a happy-to-be-going-home Rabbit.

(playing the opening to "Let it Go" on lute) Now, a few months later, winter came to the Hundred Acre Wood, and soon, the forest was covered in snow. And on that day, Roo and Tigger headed out together for a playdate. Off they went, bouncing through the wood. (Bouncing around in a circle again; letting the lute imitate bouncing) Soon, they came across a tall tree, right in the middle of the forest.

(imitating Roo) "Gee, Tigger, can you climb trees?"

(Tigger) "Of course I can, Roo! But Tiggers don't climb trees, they bounce them!"

(Lute provides bouncing sounds) So branch by branch, inch by inch, Tigger and Roo bounced all the way up to the top of the tree! But when they reached the top, Tigger realized how far down the ground was. He was terrified! But Roo wasn't. He thought it was great fun. He swung back and forth on Tigger's tail, reciting...

(Roo) "Don't swing on a swing, it's much too frail. The best kind of swing is a Tigger's tail!"

(Tigger) "Please, Roo, stop! S-T-O-P, stop! You're rocking the forest!"

Meanwhile, down on the ground, Pooh and Piglet were investigating some strange tracks that had made a circle around a bush. Suddenly, they heard...

(Tigger) "Hall-oo!"

(Pooh) "Oh, dear..."

said Pooh.

(Pooh) "I hope it isn't a jagular. Because they "hall-oo" and then drop down on you."

But it wasn't. It was Tigger and Roo, stuck in the tree. Sensing danger, they went and got Christopher Robin, Kanga and Rabbit. They all gathered at the base of the tree.

(imitating Christopher Robin) "Are you all right, Roo?"

(Roo) "I'm all right, but Tigger's stuck!"

(C.R.) "How did you get all the way up there?"

(Roo) "We bounced up."

(C.R.) "Then just bounce down."

So, Roo did. (playing a descending lute note) And before you could say "honey pot", he was safe and sound in Kanga's arms. But Tigger, he was too scared to jump down. This was good news for Rabbit, because he was still trying to find a way to stop Tigger's bouncing.

(Rabbit) "If he doesn't come down, he'll just have to stay up there forever."

(Tigger) "Oh, no! Not forever! Please get me down! If you do, I promise I'll never bounce again!"

(Rabbit) "I heard that, Tigger! Did you all hear that? Did you? I heard it."

(playing the lute one string at a time, imitating climbing down) So carefully, ever so carefully, Tigger slowly climbed down the tree, and landed safely on the ground. (Plays a fanfare on lute) And Tigger was so happy to be back on the ground!

(Tigger) "Oh, boy! Good ol' terra firma! I'm so happy I could feel like bouncing!"

But before he could, Rabbit interceded.

(Rabbit) "No, Tigger! You promised."

(Tigger) "Oh, yeah. So, I can never bounce again? Not even just one teensy-weensy little bounce?"

(Rabbit) "No; not even a smidgen of a bounce."

(playing a sad melody on lute) Tigger was very, very sad. He slowly turned around and trudged away. Everyone felt sorry for him...except for Rabbit. (stops playing) Oh, can we just get one big "boo" for Rabbit for being so mean? (waits for response) Thank you, that was very much needed, I should say. (resumes playing) As Roo watched Tigger trudge away, Roo tugged at Kanga's arm.

(Roo) "Mama, I like the old bouncy Tigger best."

(Kanga) "So do I, Roo."

(Pooh) "I do, too."

(Piglet) "Me, too."

(C.R.) "We all do. Wouldn't you agree, Rabbit?"

(Rabbit) "What? Well, I, uh...you see..."

(C.R.) "Well, Rabbit?"

(Rabbit; resigned) "Oh, all right. I guess I like the old bouncy Tigger, too."

Upon hearing that, Tigger came bounding over again.

(Tigger) "Do you really mean that, everyone? Can I have my bounce back?"

And indeed, they let him have this bounce back! (Plays a triumphant fanfare) Everybody say "Hooray!!!" (waits for response) Yes! Hip-hip-hooray, indeed, my friends! In fact, everyone was so happy, that they all bounced together, off through the woods. Come on, everyone: let's bounce, too!

(Everyone bounces; as Clef plays a triumphant reprise of "Wonderful Thing About Tiggers". At the conclusion of the song, he stops.)

Oh, you are all wonderful bouncers! And that's the story, my friends. All is well in the Hundred Acre Wood once more. After all, a Tigger with no bounce is no Tigger at all.

Thank you all very much for sharing this story with me. You know, I have plenty of other stories to share, and I go throughout Fantasyland to tell them. So, if you want to hear another story, just listen for my lute. (plays a few notes on the lute) And until next time, my friends, I hope your adventures in this Magic Kingdom end, as with many stories, "happily ever after". Goodbye!

(Clef sets off, playing "Winnie the Pooh" on his lute.)
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
So that's the story with Clef. I may post more stories later on, so keep your eyes peeled for that. I really want you guys to get a feel for Clef's storytelling approach.

THE GRID HOTEL
INNOVATORS PROMPT

“The Grid. A digital frontier. I tried to picture music files as they played on the computer. What did they look like? Synthesizers? DJs? Were the files like nightclubs? Enter a world you thought you’d never see at Walt Disney World’s latest resort hotel.”

The mind-bending world of TRON will soon be coming to the Magic Kingdom in a big way, not just with the TRON Lightcycle Power Run roller coaster, but also with the exciting all-new Grid Hotel. This boutique resort, located north of Disney’s Contemporary Resort, provides guests with an encompassing TRON experience centered around DJ.exe, the Grid’s synthesizer program whose musical masterpieces fuel life in cyberspace.

The Grid Hotel is to be an immersive hotel experience to rival the upcoming Galaxy’s Edge. Every detail within plunges guests into DJ.exe’s musical world, a world driven by never-ending electronic beats. Here guests become “users” and cast members become “programs.” Digitized and provided sleek techno robes, users become residents in the circuit board lofts of a cyberpunk synthesizer skyscraper. Invited to roleplay with the resort’s program characters, users celebrate in DJ.exe’s raucous dance parties and relax in nightclubs dominated by his ambient soundscapes.

robotrestaurant_201502_23.jpg

DJ.exe
DJ.exe is the Grid’s premiere music program. His high-rez tracks double as TRON City’s main source code, fueling everything from the city’s lights to its games. DJ.exe is famed for his distinctive spherical helmet and shiny chrome outfit. His look is partly inspired by Daft Punk, whose TRON Legacy soundtrack provides the basis for DJ.exe’s musical mayhem. DJ.exe plays on the synthesizer, live-mixing a fusion of electronic, house, club, synthwave, and related genres. His glowing neon uniform shifts colors with the music, adding to DJ.exe’s commanding pantomime performances.

Users can regularly find DJ.exe playing down at the End of Line Club. Still, DJ.exe’s image permeates the whole of Grid Hotel. From multi-story digital screens (a classic cyberpunk image) in the common areas, to smaller projections in guest rooms, DJ.exe videos perpetually provide the mix for daily digital life.

Lobby & Check-In
DJ.exe’s influence extends to the hotel’s “real world” architecture. Seen rising from the Florida swamps is a spherical structure shaped like DJ.exe’s helmet, a Zaha Hadid-inspired futuristic-modern edifice meant to simultaneously compliment the Contemporary, Space Mountain and Lightcycle Power Run buildings. At night, the building’s ETFE facade shimmers with a neon lightshow of rainbow hues.

latest

Lobby entry is through Flynn’s Arcade, a seemingly abandoned industrial storehouse. Guests head inside to check-in, greeted by ENCOM employees. While waiting to “behold Kevin Flynn’s latest gaming creation,” guests may entertain themselves in a nostalgic 1980s video arcade. At last check-in is complete and employees lead guests through a hidden doorway to the basement. Here a laser digitizes guests – an astounding lightshow moment where the basement vanishes into a digital source code, only for the lights to return revealing the digital domain of the Grid. (In actuality this teleportation effect is a simple rising wall with theatrical lighting. In emergencies a simple doorway leads back outside.)

latest

DJ.exe’s music pulses with life. Here inside the computer, “programs” clad in striped neon jumpsuits greet and orient guests. Everywhere is a stylized cyberpunk wonderland of sleek glowing cyan lines. The setting is TRON City at the base of a tall tower. Screens and painted backdrops create an endless sea of simulation, a black mirror universe lit up by minimalist neon. Guests (users) are now free to interact with programs, to meditate in their rooms, or to enjoy the dining and entertainment at DJ.exe’s End of Line Club.

EOTLC_IntOverviews_081103w.jpg

Entertainment
Riding a stark white elevator hundreds of floors into the stratosphere (another purely theatrical moment as we rise just a single floor), guests find the white, geometric End of Line Club. This is a nightclub lounge with table and bar seating, offering up an original assortment of glowing drinks. All this overlooks the dance floor and DJ.exe’s stage. Playing solo with his array of synthesizers, DJ.exe puts on command performances awash in showmanship, aided with laser effects and smoke machines.

Live synthesizer performance, exactly the sort of skill and entertainment DJ.exe brings to the mixing table

ElecTRONica is a connected dance club inspired by the like-named dance party from Disney California Adventure. The interior is like a digitized Rubik’s Cube with ever-shifting color tiles – DJ.exe’s music literally colors the mood. Additional performers take to a stage here with an energizing TRON dance performance. They act out Game Grid battles with discs, rings and lightcycles. A giant LED screen and projections compliment their dance. Fiberoptic costumes glow with the music. Performers dance among guests, for a high-energy and interactive spectacle not to be missed!

Dining
The Grid Hotel’s flagship table service restaurant is Chez Rez, set in a soothing CPU cooling tower overlooking TRON City. As with guest rooms, panoramic window views are actually screens (like with the Galaxy’s Edge hotel) depicting the endless digital horizon, the skies alight with static lightning and the circuit freeways flowing with hovering Recognizers.

Molecular_gastronomy_science_s.jpg

Guests sit around large circuit board tables. Lighting comes from oversized vintage computer tubes. The menu consists of a-la carte molecular gastronomy – foods chemically prepared as if in a laboratory. Guests can see the chef programs had at work behind see-through neon grid glass, preparing their digital delicacies. The cooking stations resemble DJ.exe’s synthesizers, implying a common code approach to life on the Grid.

For quicker, lighter foods, guests may stop at Bytes. This is a quick service spot alongside Chez Rez which resembles a neon cyberpunk automat. Foods are previewed behind glass cases and ordered via vending machine interface – itself resembling the synths. The menu here is less exotic, simple American fare dyed to a TRON color scheme.s

Rooms
When guests tire from partying with DJ.exe, they may retire to their TRON City guest rooms. These sleek, ultra-modern rooms recall Flynn’s Outland hideaway, minimalist with swooping curves and recessed lighting. Beside the light switch is a synthesizer board where guests can control the room’s lighting scheme and its pumped-in DJ.exe soundtrack – it can be made energetic, soothing, ambient, or absent altogether (especially useful when the time comes to power down – that is, sleep). Similar design details and décor extends to other amenities, including the mainframe restroom and light blue neon shower. Beds are recessed like a Japanese capsule hotel, but redesigned for American guest comfort.

L1UfNwE.jpg

To combat potential claustrophobia, the rooms’ windows (which typically feature screen footage of the Grid) can “download” nature screensavers, complete with loading screen. Actually, these are views of the real Florida landscape outside the hotel, as the projection screen slides away.

4594445239_1200x800.jpg

Magic Kingdom Access
The Grid Hotel provides a guest-only access point to the Magic Kingdom, direct to TRON Lightcycle Power Run in Tomorrowland. This is aboard the Prism Rail, a bullet train which sails the light waves from Power Run’s Game Grid to the End of Line. (In actuality a simple light rail train which crosses over World Way.) Screens onboard depict a journey across the Grid’s expansive Sea of Simulation, past angular digitized mountains, pixelated bubbles and frightful glitches. Exiting into Power Run’s show building, guests remain immersed in the world of TRON, and ready to the ride with infinite, complimentary FastPasses.

***

The Grid Hotel is a natural complement to TRON Lightcycle Power Run, Magic Kingdom’s first new E-ticket in decades. It shall further immerse guests into the digital frontier, where they can sleep, eat and celebrate alongside TRON’s programs. DJ.exe fuels this eclectic electronic experience with a pulsing synthwave soundtrack. A visit to his hotel is a truly one-of-a-kind fully themed vacation adventure!

Looks like I might have to bow out ungracefully in the tourney. Most of my prompt is in a presentation and it decided to get corrupted somehow last night.
Will try and get at least something put together so that Ace doesn't send me home without at least one shining moment.
That's unfortunate  I was looking forward to playing against you this week!!

Can't wait to see whatever you do get posted!!

Here's another Clef story: his rendition of Cinderella.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
(As Clef walks to his spot, he sings a snatch of "A Dream is a Wish Your Heart Makes" and plays his lute. For the story of 'Cinderella', he always tells it nearby her fountain. He begins.)

It's a tale of a girl who went from rags to riches; with the aid of her animal friends and a very special lady. . Any guesses? (waits for response) That's right! It's Cinderella! One of my personal favorites! And I really do mean it about this one; and that's because it was Cinderella's tale that brought me this status. I was once a poor young man, trying to make my way in this big world of ours. I grew up looking up to Cinderella. Her bravery and optimism, even in the face of unimaginable conditions, spoke volumes to me and my status as just another ragamuffin on the streets. Armed with only my trusty lute and my sharp tongue, I played for money along the streets. The children used to love hearing my stories. And one day, I found myself sitting before a castle, just playing and singing; and telling stories. And as luck would have had it, it was the castle of Cinderella herself! She and Prince Charming had watched me performing, and recognizing my good heart and unwavering hope and optimism, they gave me the title of Royal Minstrel of Fantasyland.

So, essentially, my story begins and ends with this amazing young lady, and I tell her tale with as much pride as I did when I was young. What do you say, my friends? Would you like to hear the story of Cinderella? (waits for response) Wonderful! Then let the story begin!

("Cinderella" plays on lute) In a faraway kingdom, there lived a gentle and lovely young maiden name Cinderella. Her father died when she was young, and left her in the care of her stepmother and stepsisters. I am sad to say that they were completely horrible people. Motivated solely by their own vanity, they resented Cinderella's beauty, and essentially forced her to be their slave. She did every chore thrown at her: all the cooking, the scrubbing, the washing and the mending; whilst her selfish stepfamily didn't lift a finger. Her only friends were the animals that lived on her stepmother's estate: Bruno the dog, Major the horse, and of course, a plethora of birds and mice. But through it all, she never complained. She believed that someday, her dreams of happiness would become reality. After all...

(singing) A dream is a wish your heart makes
when you're fast asleep.
In dreams, you will lose your heartaches.
Whatever you wish for, you keep.
Have faith in your dreams, and someday
your rainbow will come smiling through.
No matter how your heart is grieving,
if you keep on believing,
the dreams that you wish will come true.

One day, an invitation was spread out throughout the kingdom; an invitation from the King himself! (plays a fanfare on lute) That night, there was going to be a ball held in honor of the Prince, and every eligible young maiden in the land was commanded to attend. This was quite exciting news, especially to Cinderella.

(as Cinderella) "This means I can go, too! The announcement said every maiden was to attend."

But her cruel stepsisters just scoffed at the idea.

(as Drizella) "Can you imagine Cinderella at the ball, dancing with the prince?"

(as Anastasia) "Oh, I'd be honored, your highness. Would you mind holding my broom?"

(As both stepsisters, he laughs derisively; As himself) Needless to say, they were quite horrible people. But Lady Tremaine, Cinderella's stepmother, surprisingly offered a compromise.

(as Lady Tremaine) "Very well, Cinderella. If you can get your chores done in time, then you may go to the ball with us."

At first, the stepsisters were shocked at what their mother had said. But then, they remembered: she did say "if". That very day, the stepsisters launched more commands onto Cinderella than ever before!

(to fast-paced lute music; imitating both stepsisters) "Now, wash this slip; mend these button-holes; where's my sash?; press this dress; curl my hair; Oh, and find my fan!"

Phew! Needless to say, there was not a chance that she'd be able to prepare for the ball herself. This was quite the problem for Cinderella's mice friends. They resented the stepsisters and their cruel treatment of Cinderella, and they instantly sought about making sure Cinderella could go to the ball. They were going to make her a dress themselves!

(singing) We can do it, we can do it
We can help our Cinderelly
We can make a dress so pretty,
There's nothing to it, really!
We'll tie a sash around it,
put a ribbon through it.
When dancing at the ball,
she'll be more beautiful than all,
in the lovely dress we'll make for Cinderelly!

As the sun set over the kingdom, the mice surprised Cinderella with their hand-made dress. Ecstatic, she rushed down just as her stepfamily was about to head out the door. Ah, but Lady Tremaine was far too wicked to let her go. And so, she sicced the selfish stepsisters upon Cinderella, and they tore her dress to shreds!

(ominous lute music plays; as Clef imitates tearing apart fabric)

And they left without a moment's hesitation. Gosh, I hate those vile women.

(playing "A Dream is a Wish" in minor key) And for poor Cinderella, this proved to be the last straw. She burst into tears and ran into the garden.

(as Cinderella) "It's no use; no use at all. There's nothing left to believe in. Nothing."

(as Fairy Godmother) "Now, child, surely you don't mean that."

Cinderella looked around for the source of the gentle voice, and found herself sitting before her fairy godmother!

(as F.G.) "Dry those tears. You can't go to the ball looking like that. Now, let's see: what were those magic words again?"

(singing) Salagadoola-menchikaboola,
Bibbidi-bobbidi-boo.
Put em together and what have you got?
Bibbidi-bobbidi-boo!
Salagadoola-menchikaboola,
Bibbidi-bobbidi-boo.
It'll do magic, believe it or not.
Bibbidi-bobbidi-boo!

(continues playing as underscore) And before Cinderella's unbelieving eyes, the Fairy Godmother completely transformed her surroundings. A simple pumpkin from the garden became a magnificent coach; the tiny mice became gallant steeds; Major became a coachman, and Bruno a footman. (to slowly building music) And then, the Fairy Godmother aimed her wand at Cinderella's ragged dress, and slowly, but surely, it turned into the loveliest gown she had ever laid eyes on! And looking down, she saw that her feet had been adorned with delicate glass slippers.

Looking at her reflection in the pond, Cinderella was astonished.

(as Cinderella) "Oh fairy godmother, thank you! It's just like a dream: a wonderful dream come true!"

(as F.G.) "Yes, my child, but like all dreams, it can't last forever, you know. You must return home before midnight, because then, the spell will be broken, and everything will be as it was."

(as Cinderella) "I'll remember. Oh, it's more than I ever hoped for! Thank you, fairy godmother."

(as F.G.) "Bless you, my child. Now hurry, it's getting late."

And soon, Cinderella was being whisked off to the Castle for the ball!

(singing) Now salagadoola means
menchikaboolaroo.
But the thingamabob that does the job
is bibbidi-bobbidi-boo!
Oh, salagadoola-menchikaboola
Bibbidi-bobbidi-boo.
Put em together and what have you got?
Bibbidi-bobbidi, bibbidi-bobbidi, bibbidi-bobbidi-boo!

(playing regal theme on lute) Stepping inside the mighty castle was like stepping inside a dream. The men were dressed dashingly, and the ladies were in their loveliest gowns. But among them all, Cinderella was the loveliest. And when the Prince himself first caught sight of her, he was immediately smitten. And before long, he and Cinderella were stepping lightly across the floor, struck by the melody of a tender waltz.

(singing) So this is love, (hum), so this is love.
So this is what makes life divine.
I'm all aglow, (hum), and now I know
the key to all Heaven is mine.
My heart has wings, (hum), and I can fly.
I'll touch every star in the sky.
So this is the miracle that I've been dreaming of...
(hum, hum). So this is love.

Ah, it was beautiful. Absolutely beautiful. But all at once, the clock tower began to strike midnight! (playing 12 loud chords on the lute under this) (as Cinderella) "Oh, no! It's midnight!" (as himself) cried Cinderella. (as Cinderella) "I must go! Goodbye!" (as the Prince) "No, wait! I don't even know your name! How will I find you again?" (as himself) Ah, but it was too late. Cinderella hurried down the palace steps, eager to get to her coach before the spell wore off. But along the way, one of her slippers fell off, and rested on one of the steps. Cinderella stepped into the coach, and just as the twelfth stroke occured, she was home, her coach once again a pumpkin; her horses once again mice; and her gown once again rags.

As dawn rose the next day, the Prince issued forth a proclamation. He was to marry whoever's foot fit the slipper left behind on the steps. The Prince sent his Grand Duke from house to house, looking for the shoe's rightful owner. And every girl in the Kingdom tried to put it on desperately. If you don't mind...

(slinging his lute, he imitates holding a shoe and tries to put it on the feet of the female audience members.)

But alas, each maiden came up short. And Cinderella's stepsisters tried hardest of all, but it was no use. No maiden could fit the shoe. But what of Cinderella, you ask? Well, mean old Lady Tremaine was taking no chances. In her mind, Cinderella was never going to be able to try on the slipper. She deliberately locked her in her room while the Grand Duke was there. Luckily, the mice were able to slip the key from Lady Tremaine's pocket and rushed it up to her room. And just in time, too! The Duke was about to leave...

(as the Duke) "Well, I shall bid you good day, if you're certain there are no other women here..."

(as Cinderella) "Wait! Please wait! May I try on the slipper?"

(as the Duke) "Of course. Every girl may a chance."

Ah, but Lady Tremaine still wouldn't take any chances. She deliberately tripped the Duke as he brought the slipper to her, and it smashed to pieces on the floor. It seemed that all was lost...or was it? Because Cinderella said...

(as Cinderella) "If it would help...you see...I have the other slipper."

And indeed she did--kept in the pocket of her apron. The Duke slid that slipper upon her foot, and it fit perfectly! At long last, Cinderella's dreams had come true! Can I get a "hooray"? (audience responds) Yes! Hip-hip-hooray, indeed, my friends! It wasn't that long at all before Cinderella and the Prince were wed in the grandest ceremony the kingdom had ever seen. Never again would she have to be a slave to her wicked stepfamily. It's unknown what happened to them, by the way, but surely, the fact that they could no longer control Cinderella was enough to drive them to insanity. And that is just fine with me, because at long last, Cinderella's endless hope and optimism had paid off tremendously. She and her Prince would indeed live happily ever after.

And that's the story, my friends. Goodbye!

(Clef sets off, playing "A Dream is a Wish" on his lute.)

Apologize in advance for how unorganized this is. Been trying for the last day to get stuff working (uninstall/re-install my adobe premier, downloading trial version of newest version, etc.) all to no avail.

My pitch centered around a 5.5 min video using a show called Entertainer Spotlight that pops on during the middle of you watching Resort TV.

Innovators Prompt
Meet Tommy Two Taps
The video opens with an initial run through of Resort TV showing the various parks/hours, Disney Springs, etc. until we come to the next slide indicating Entertainer Spotlight is coming up next and this month we'll meet Tommy Two Taps.

(A brief show intro appears with some effects and snippets of various entertainers around the resort flashing by.
In the background, the faint sounds of tap shoes can be heard, starting a routine. The opening montage of video is aerial views of WDW and Tommy starts narrating the video.)

Hi folks, I'm Tommy Two Taps and I'm proud to be working here as an entertainer at the amazing Walt Disney World Resort. Let me just say this is crazy that a I'm getting my own little this is your life moment here. For a poor kid from Queens, I can't believe I've had the opportunities I've had, met the people I've met, and getting to do what I love on a daily basis.

While I can play several instruments, my best and natural one is my feet. I'm a dancer at heart, especially tap, and it's gotten me where I am today (video of tapping feet play)

First thing you probably want to know what is up with my name? When I was younger, I had a hard time staying out of trouble, so my mom stuck me in dance to get me out of the neighborhood for a few hours. I still had a hard time listening, so my instructor would make me tap until my feet practically fell off. Eventually I got to where I could tap so fast, I was tapping twice for anybody elses one, and the nickname was born. (at this point, there is old 8mm video of NY playing from the Staten Island Ferry, and a cab driving around the city. Background music is Rodriguez' Inner City Blues)

My mom saves everything, and she made sure to provide the good folks here at Disney some dirt on me I'm sure. As you can see, I had a great haircut in my early years (NY Streets video shows Tommy has a young kid on the sidewalk, with long floppy hair of the day)

As I said, born and raised in Queens early on, but then we moved to Southern California when I was 9. Talk about culture shock. I was this tough kid in NY and all of a sudden I'm in this cool, laid back, warm California air, but man I loved it. (at this point we see some 70's aerial footage of the Hollywood sign, and then 8mm video near Sunset Dr. Background music Luck Be a Lady by Frank Sinatra fills the background)

Screen-Shot-2013-12-28-at-6.56.29-PM.png

My gramps was living there at the time and not doing too well health wise, and I was lucky to spend that last year of his life hearing all of these stories, the celebrities he'd met, the things he'd seen. He'd spent 25 years working at the Beverly Hills Hotel and man, I just fell in love with that era from his stories. (At this point we start seeing a mixture of black and white photos of the BHH, celebs hanging at the hotel as well as performances by James Cagney, Bob Hope, and the Hayne's sisters)

The-Rat-pack-on-stage.jpg

The Rat Pack, Crosby, Cagney, Rosemary Clooney and stars that hung out there, the palm trees, and entertainers who could truly do it all. Guys and gals could sing, dance, act, you name it. While I was born a few years too late for that era, I just knew that's what I wanted to do.

That's why I'm so excited to be here at The Buena Vista Hills Hotel. Of course Gene Kelley and Bob Hope aren't walking through those doors, but this place just captures that vibe and what I love about it. Once you arrive through those gates, this place will make you feel transported to another era. (at this point we see aerial footage of the Buena Vista, the main building, pool area, some ground level footage)

Just like some of the famous hotels of the 50's and 60's popular with the Hollywood crowd, you get top of the line quality and seclusion. There's other entertainers like myself that will pop up here and there in the resort and they are all fantastic. We've got our nightly show in the Tropicana that I love doing and harkens back to the dinner/entertainment club era. And have I said how cool this place is?

For me it's the perfect place. It's a throwback, like me I guess and man I just love it. I hope you will all come check out the show or some of the great acts around the hotel. Some truly talented people. Well if you want to know more about me, or see more of the hotel, you're just gonna have to come on over. Look forward to seeing you all soon! ((at this point the show winds down and kicks back into Resort TV))

Buena Vista Hotel & Spa
Welcome to the fabulous Buena Vista Hills Hotel & Spa. While you don't have to be a celebrity to stay here, you'll feel like one after your visit.

Evoking an aura and feel of the Beverly Hills Hotel that it's modeled after, but with all the modern aesthetics you'd want and expect, a stay in any of the 400 rooms or 15 bungalows on site will have you vacationing in style. Tucked away behind the trees and foliage for privacy, but in close proximity to both Hollywood Studios and Epcot, guest will have the best of both worlds.
hotel.jpg

Your stay here will be all about relaxation before and after your days at the park, and harken back to the classic and timeless feel of the Hollywood crowd and entertainment of the 50's, 60's and 70's.

Entering the Hotel
Similar to the Beverly Hills version, you'll drive your way onto the expertly manicured grounds, marvel at the palm trees, and pull up to the main entrance. Here you'll be greeted by a large covered awning for drop off/pick up and an enormous red carpet will lead you towards the front doors and lobby.

All of the staff will be smartly dressed in shirts/ties/blouses to stay "in character".

The grand lobby will be the main hub of all the action. Ornate chandeliers, a beautiful fountain, skylights letting in some of that Florida sunshine and a long ornate front desk made of marble. As noted, you'll see a number of vintage touches to the décor, but all with a modern twist that still keeps that feel but shows well. As Tommy said, for someone in love with that old Hollywood era, this is the place for him.

Keep your eye out, you never know what random stranger will mistake you for a big director and try and slip you a screenplay for review.

Dining
Quick Service - Rodeo Roll
Looking for a quick, yet filling bite on the way to the park or pool? This grab and go joint will be a little easier on your wallet than the spots on Rodeo Drive, but with plenty of options to get your morning started right.

Straight out of the oven croissants, muffins, Danish and doughnuts along with fresh fruits and coffees await you at this simple, yet stylish spot. If you have a few minutes, sit and enjoy your meal indoors as you relax to some song styling from the likes of Martin, Crosby and Merman. Better yet, stroll outside to the shaded, patio dining area overlooking the main pool.

Table Service (Breakfast/Lunch) - Tropicana Lounge
For guests looking for a little more formal dining experience at breakfast or lunch, they can stop by the Tropicana for a wide variety of items at each meal, all with a California twist. The Lounge is later turned into the Tropicana Club at night, but you'll still get the feel and ambiance of classic Hollywood at this dining establishment. You never know how you might see.

Rooms
The 400 rooms and 15 bungalows are spread smartly around the grounds, with the number kept on the smaller side to retain some of the intimacy of it's California name sake. A series of small towers to maintain sightlines flanks out from the main lobby and are serviced by the main pool and one smaller that also has a kid play area.

The rooms themselves are decked out with top of the line furnishings, small references to some of Hollywood's brightest starts and ornate bathrooms with large walk-in showers. A mixture of King/Queen or 2 Double Beds provides ample opportunities for parties of 2-6 to stay over.

The 15 bungalows on property are served by their own pool area and also their own on-call concierge, while also boasting the largest rooms on property and some of the largest at WDW. For those looking for that true classic Hollywood A-list experience, this is where you'll want to be.

Entertainment
Entertainment will be the bread and butter of this hotel and what really will set it apart from any other property at WDW. Including Tommy, there are a number of talented performers that call the Buena Vista home. While they have scheduled performances at night, you never know when an impromptu performance will pop up on the grounds.

Whether it be serenades by the pool or dance numbers in the main lobby, you are sure to catch at least one star studded performance during your stay, if not more.
ciros-la-dansvloer1.jpg

Tropicana Club
As the daylight wanes, the Tropicana Lounges is transformed into the Tropicana Club. Reminiscent of the dinner and entertainment clubs most have only seen in old movies, the Tropicana provides the backdrop for some of the best entertainment you'll find in Orlando from Tommy Two Taps and his friends.

The club itself has multiple layers of seating allowing for fine viewing angles from any table in the joint. All of the seating focuses towards the main floor and stage band behind. Before the show begins, a fine dining table service setting will take place.

As the MC of the nights festivities Tommy will tell a few jokes, get the crowd jazzed for the acts they are about to see, perform a tap routine that looks like it was pulled from an old Gene Kelly movie and get things started on a great foot. The acts throughout the evening will all provide a mixture of laughs, tunes and dance numbers that made that era what it was. Even those not as familiar with it all will be soaked up the environment as the show and surroundings will all transport you back in time.

Transmission Sending...
----------------------------
March 6, 2086
To Mr. Emmanuel Polymer
Centauri Base 0327
Moon of Titan, Saturn Orbit

Dear Mr. Polymer,

My name is Dr. Sebastian Blair, and I am the Chief Officer of Imagination for the Department of Dreamers, a subset organization of the Society of Explorers and Adventurers, who currently resides and specializes in the Experimental Prototype Community of Tomorrow. I hope this transmission reaches you well due to the asteroid belt interference the Department has been facing reaching you explorers. I understand you've had differences with the society in years past, with them pulling you off your dream Epcot resort concept years ago, and forcing you to leave your family behind to explore the great beyond en route to the moon of Titan.

It was a tough decision indeed, but in many ways, the society has become all encompassing to its members, not as it was in years past as a social explorer club of Henry, Mary, Harrison, and more. With nearly 2 centuries past since the dawn of the society, it isn't want it once was, and even though I may be bringing up some bad memories of leaving your only son Oliver behind, the Department of Dreamers has kept a close watch on him throughout the years. And with that I bring you some good tidings.

Oliver has grown up to be a fine young man. A dreamer, architect, and visionary unlike anyone we've ever seen. When you left him at 12 years old, his anger and frustration stifled his creativity. He didn't understand why S.E.A. chose you to leave, especially when you had a family. Nevertheless, he grew up surrounded by all your ideas and inventions, and once he turned 16 and matured through his early anger, he began to tinker with them. I'm assuming you're familiar with your never-finished concept for an Instrument of 1,000 Instruments? Oliver cracked it. The genius designer that he is, Oliver has became proficient in the piano, harp, sax, organ, flute, and even guitar...all on the same instrument. A revolutionary idea that swept the nation, winning him his high school science fair and earning him a scholarship to the University of Oxford. There he traveled the globe in search of answers to who his father was, and why you left with S.E.A.

He traveled to the original S.E.A. headquarters in Mediterranean Harbor, did a semester abroad in Mystic Point, and explored the seven seas on the Oceaneer submarine. He understood that S.E.A. had you venture to the moon of Titan as the first manned quest for intergalactic passenger travel, changing the atmosphere of Titan to be habitable, and melting the deep ice to create water for sustainable life. Essentially creating a second home for humanity. They haven't told anyone on earth what the mission was about, Oliver had to travel into the boundless realms of the S.E.A. mythos to discover these secrets kept from him for years.

But while he gained an appreciation for why you had to leave with S.E.A., his resentment for you faded into sadness, and a somber desire to see you. He tried to design his own propulsion system into space, but to no avail. He tried traveling to Fortress Explorations to gaze up into the stars, but there was no telescope able to reach you on the surface. The one connection your son had to you was, the Instrument of 1,000 Instruments, until one day, while glancing through your old office, he happened upon other plans. Designed sketches for an Epcot resort that was highly immersive and interactive, something that embodied Walt Disney's dream of the future - a person that your son has taken a liking to personality wise, similar to yourself.

We even got your son's Myers-Briggs Personality Test back - he's an ENTJ, just like yourself as I glanced through your archives. I've attached some of the results and renderings to this message to help you get a better understand, Emmanuel.
1200px-MyersBriggsTypes.png
ENTJ for your son's personality means he elicits strategic, logical, efficient, outgoing, ambitious, independent traints, and is an effective organizer of people and long range planners.

Your son Oliver has shown those traits in spades by taking your old hand-drawn concept sketches from years ago, and using them as inspiration for a new Epcot resort for all to enjoy.

Concept Sketch #1

Concept Sketch #3
Lobby Atrium with the Fountain of Wishes.

With his sound logic, he went to the board of directions at Epcot, proposing your resort complex as an experience unlike any other for the guests near Epcot. Something that invites them in to be involved in the experience. A resort that welcomes and lets guests explore their own stories.

Beginning with the grand vista of a lobby, the eight story atrium will entice guests inside a lobby that symbolizes all the scientific branches that the original Epcot spirit embodied. Those of Communication, Energy, Space, Transportation, Imagination, Ecology, Technology, and Oceanic Life. Each floor of the atrium is dedicated in colors, theme, and design to those specific science fields - with the grand designer himself Oliver Polymer having his touch of innovation over ever corner of the resort.

When guests arrive to the Dreamers Resort, they are immersed in the sights, sounds, and smells of a kinetic world. An ever moving, ever changing technological marvel, with a 'Fountain of Wishes' in the center as you intended, where guests can 'dream' their own futures. With entertainment and interactive exhibits throughout the resort, this will bring the spirit of the old CommuniCore exhibits to life, as ever since the new central spine project, there is no place to showcase technological innovations anymore Emmanuel, but your son has brought that showcase to life at the front of Epcot.
r-1500948512-FutureWorld3.jpg
The rooms themselves are themed eloquently to the areas of science that Oliver and yourself wanted to convey, with the energy rooms themed with highly intricate arrays of energy efficient 'solar' powered resort rooms, whereas the 'space floor' places guests in earth orbit to connect thematically with the space restaurant in Future World East.
misspac4230897.jpg
With each floor of rooms having its own unique flavor, the resort is unlike anything ever seen before. Oliver even built the Vacation Club destination on the adjacent side, connected via a breezeway called the 'high in the sky breezeway'. With suites, family style two and three bedroom villas, and basically everything to satisfy incoming families. Oliver said that family was his main priority when designing the resort, as he dedicated the construction and features of the resort all to you, Emmanuel, his only family.

On opening day, Oliver made a promise to not only the guests, but to you, his father, that he would do everything he could to ensure that this resort would continue to be a beacon of hope and inspiration that those who believe in dreams should chase them. Because if you can dream it, you can do it. This resort is dedicated to those who make the tough decisions that inspire others to live out their dreams as well.

Oliver Polymer than announced that he would be living in the Dreamers Resort and the Epcot surrounding area for the foreseeable future, using his talents as a musician to provide entertainment and his personal flair to the resort, meeting guests, telling them about his stories, and much more - to add his spirit to the ambiance of the resort, personalizing his interactions with the guests.

With his extroverted and outgoing personality, Oliver Polymer is a guest favorite nowadays. People line up from all of the world not only to stay at the luxurious resort, but to be able to meet with Oliver himself. Guests wanted to learn more from such a talented innovator, so Oliver holds Story-Time Sessions with guests periodically throughout the day, as well as one on one Meet & Greets at certain sections of the resort, where he inspires guests to fulfill their dreams and answers their questions about how to pursue their own dreams. For the holiday seasons, Oliver dresses up the entire resort for the occasion, holding parties and festivals for the guests during Valentine's Day, July 4th, Halloween, and Christmas, among other holidays.

But arguably the most significant entertainment Oliver provides for guests, is the nightly dinner show in the Inspiration Cafe, where he plays the Instrument of 1,000 Instruments for the guests throughout the meal, interacting with them and showing off new inventions of his along the way, inviting guests (mostly children) up to demonstrate those inventions with typically zany and fun results. Through digital effects, lighting, and neon glowing floors, the Inspiration Cafe is the signature dining experience and entertainment option at the Dreamers Resort, thanks to your son.

Oliver playing the Instrument of 1,000 Instruments
7521210384861492829%253Faccount_id%253D9

He even wrote a song for you, Emmanuel. Each of his dinner shows ends with a tribute to you, and a slideshow of your life and how you inspired him to dream beyond the horizon, which motivated him to write his song, 'A Dream For Tomorrow' the theme song of the resort.

Hopefully, Emmanuel, I have given you a cohesive update on Oliver's inspiring acts and that you're able to view this message due to the asteroid belt interference. My dream is one day you can reunite with your son once more.

Yours in Exploration and Adventure,
Dr. Sebastian Blair

Pix Presents: An Innovator Proposal
(Brief explenation of the varied universe this is in, Buddy the Dino from my Rainbow Ridge proposal is fully excavated and that ride is shown in Disneyland as opposed to Disney World so there is no doubling up of themes in Disney World)

Hey guys, Haley here, coming to you LIVE (not really) from the BRAND NEW NERD HEADQUARTERS (this just in from Olivia who is reading over my shoulder, i’m not allowed to call it the nerd headquarters in a professional description) ... Maybe I should try this again.

Take two everyone. This is still Haley, now with less caffeine (Liv took my homemade concentrated coffee away... again) and I am actually on sight (unlike sitting in my bedroom in my pajamas as I was earlier) at the new S.E.A.S. Resort just a few minutes away from EPCOT at Walt Disney World. After Livs super sciencerific (look I do the science not the English okay let me live a little) discovery of Buddy the Dino over in Rainbow Ridge *https://forums.wdwmagic.com/threads/s-e-a-original-characters.938218/#post-8082315* EPCOT center reached out to the two of us to help them with a new education based S.T.E.M. resort for guests visiting EPCOT and the rest of Walt Disney World. (Guests can also see the fully excavated Buddy in all his glory over in Disney’s Animal Kingdom sense the Dino Institute decided to showcase Liv’s work)

Anywho suddenly two broke college grads are swept into helping one of the biggest companies in the world (nope i’m not fangirling I definitely haven’t been dreaming about this sense I was 8) And here we are indeed. Now, gonna hand the laptop over to Olivia who is much better at being professional. But I will be back!!

Olivia here. To make a long story short, after the Dino Institute caught wind of my friend Buddy they decided they wanted him showcased in Animal Kingdom. Of course there was no way I would ever turn down that offer. The newly reformed S.E.A.S. founded by me and Haley caught interest of EPCOT imagineers and sense I already had connections in the parks through the Dino Institute they asked the two of us to help them with a new project. S.E.A.S for those who have yet to hear is the Society of Engineers, Adventurers, and Scientists. This is of course modeled after the original Society of Explorers and Adventurers (S.E.A.) that I heard so many stories about from my grandfather growing up, but with a more scientific focus on the world. Telling Haley about S.E.A. sparked her interest as well and we decided to reform under a slightly new name to put more a focus on science as opposed to pure Indiana Jones style adventuring. S.E.A.S. is a place for any who wonder about the world to join together and explore, in whatever way they feel most comfortable with. S.E.A.S. also has a huge focus on sharing that knowledge and passion and that is exactly what this resort intends to do.

This resort will have distinct areas for guests to stay in, 3 pools, a playground, an arcade, a dining area, and a bar lounge with live performances from Haley herself. She is quite talented when she isn’t using her chemistry knowledge to make extra strong coffee and then loudly attempting to sing the elements song at 3am (okay... to be fair it's still pretty talented.) The 4 areas will be an astronomy themed section, a engineering themed section, a paleontology section, and a chemistry section. There will be a pool in the chemistry section that will be a bit smaller and more relaxed and adult focused that is shaped like an Erlenmeyer flask, a pool in the engineering section that’s a little more kid focused shaped like a trio of interconnected gears, and then the biggest pool area will be housed in the central astronomy section with a star shaped pool, a nearby sun Jacuzzi, and a planetary water playground for the smaller kids who don’t quite swim yet.

Erlenmeyer Flask SYWTBAI.png

Gears outline .png

Star SYWTBAI.png

The playground will be over in the paleontology area and will have a swing set, some slides and monkey bars, and a mini dino dig like the one found over in Animal Kingdom, but smaller. The arcade will be housed in the main building next to check in and will have a mix of newer arcade games as well as classics. At some point I would like to get some volunteer coders to come once a week and hold a video game making class but that’s not going to happen for a while. The dining area will be similar to those who are familiar with Art of Animation, actually the whole resort is sort of modeled after that resort in layout.

Capture+_2018-03-06-23-29-37.png

With the buildings being short like Art of Animation there won't be an issue with the buildings interfering with the atmosphere from EPCOT. The main draw here will be the deserts. Atom cookies, geode cupcakes, fossil cupcakes, periodic table of element cupcakes... what can I say? Disney World loves specialty cupcakes. And then there is the The Lab. This is the place for your nightly dose of C2H6O, I mean... alcohol. This is Haleys main domain. If you are ever looking for her I would check here. She loves to drink and socialize and somehow the never-ending buzz of noise and people HELPS her study so even if she has work she might be there. She also performs Friday-Sunday with her guitar. The music is loud and an odd mix of science songs and radio hits. It somehow works. Speaking of she is blasting the song-list for her new set so I am gonna pass this blog off to her and head out for a late night cupcake.

I told you I would be back! So, I’m now in my pajamas in the hotel room we are staying at tonight!!! It’s amazing I wish I had brought my camera. Basically we are “testing” each style of room before the resort opens and tonight is are last night. Tonight we are in the space room! It’s all shades of purples and blues and pinks. And the ceiling is covered in glow in the dark stars in the shapes of constellations. The walls are pretty light colors but the bedding is all black and covered in galaxies. It’s really cool. The hallways outside are also covered in stars and planets and stuff!!! Last night we stayed in the engineering side. It had ROBOTS and RACECARS and cool stuff like that!! In the halls were cool blueprints for how to build things like robots and racecars and the rooms were all blue and white and the bedding looked like gears. That area has the big family rooms, and they have extra beds that pull down from the wall that is pretty neat. And some of them have bunk beds. The night before that was the paleontology area and the carpet looked all sandy and had little bones hidden in the pattern. The wallpaper was decorated with the names and bone structure of various dinosaurs which was pretty cool and the bedding had cute cartoon dinos. Liv complained that the bedding wasn’t accurate but the wallpaper was so she let it go. And the first day was my room in the chemistry area! It came out soooooo cool~ there were drawings of chemical equations of fun things like sugar! And the bedding had cute beakers and flasks on them! It was awesome and really a good mix of kid friendly and accurate. That’s the rooms! But lets talk about my favorite place. The lab!!!

Alright so the lab looks vaguely like the science lab you know from high school. Long cold black slate tables and high bar stools. A weird skeleton in the corner with a different holiday hat each season. Lots of beakers and flasks. But unlike your normal high school lab there is no dissections unless you count picking apart our loaded fries, no petri dishes... except the ones that hold boosey jello and gummy bacteria, and lots of neon lights and loud music.

Layered Drinks SYWTBAI .jpg

SYWTBAI gummy.jpeg

We got a fantastic variety of drinks that include ones that we set on fire (REACTIONS) ones that self layer due to differing densities, ones that glow under the black lights we have, and all are served in some sweet beakers. Plus on the weekends there is live music provided by yours truly. Including a cover of this sweet song.

Anyways, that’s it for now, come check us out when school starts back up this 2018! Rock on nerds!
