Likewise, I can pull off shorts until about 50.How is that even possible? I'd sweat SO bad if I wore a heavy jacket in 70 degree weather.
I wear a jacket at like 40 degrees, shorts at 50.
I've researched it over and over, it's kind of sad to be honest how much time I've spent looking into it. @MonorailRed, I know you did it last Spring, feel free to add anything that I missed. How does the DCP work? I want to do it, but I don't get it Is it like a summer thing?
It's what RM said pretty much and Red can chime in too.How does the DCP work? I want to do it, but I don't get it Is it like a summer thing?
A lot less studying! Best time I ever had. It's what RM said pretty much and Red can chime in too.
Basically it's a version of studying abroad for a semester, though like most study abroad programs...more work and fun...less studying
You went on the DCP? Is it really as such a good time as everyone makes it up to be?A lot less studying! Best time I ever had.
Oh my god, the stories I could tell! It is so much fun!You went on the DCP? Is it really as such a good time as everyone makes it up to be?
I can do it till about 60? I found out I can do it that low when I went to New York a couple years back in May So cold...Likewise, I can pull off shorts until about 50.
The DCP (at least the WDW one) is a semester at Disney World. There are two main semesters Fall and Spring. How does the DCP work? I want to do it, but I don't get it Is it like a summer thing?
Vista Way!!!I can do it till about 60? I found out I can do it that low when I went to New York a couple years back in May So cold...
The DCP (at least the WDW one) is a semester at Disney World. There are two main semesters Fall and Spring.
The Fall semester begins mid/late August and lasts till January. While a Fall Advantage Semester is also available, this option begins late May/early June, and I believe ends around January as well.
The Spring semester begins mid/late January and ends early/mid May. While the Spring Advantage Semester is available, this option begins late Jan/early Feb, and ends early/mid August.
While doing the Disney College Program you will be working for Disney while living on one of the four Walt Disney World Housing Complexes.
Vista Way is the first and is the oldest of the four. It has its own bus line, and I've heard its more of a party complex?
Chattam is the second and shares a bus line with Patterson. While quiet and it still more active than Patterson?
Patterson is the third and shares a bus line with Chatta. It is considered rather quiet?
The Formerly International One is the fourth one, and I don't know the name for it. I believe it has its own bus line, and unlike the rest each dorm/apartment thing comes with a laundry room! (I'm not 100% sure if they opened up to the USA citizens)
While on the DCP you may take college courses, but it is not necessary (I believe). You also get all the perks of a regular cast member, except you get less free tickets ( I think, I'm not 100% sure if its still athing for them) and other downsides.
That's all the info tcool knows from watching DCP vlogs. Specifically two -

New York in May is balmy... At least for me...I can do it till about 60? I found out I can do it that low when I went to New York a couple years back in May So cold...
Beat me to it RMI've researched it over and over, it's kind of sad to be honest how much time I've spent looking into it. @MonorailRed, I know you did it last Spring, feel free to add anything that I missed.
Basically, you go for a school semester, either the fall or spring. Fall is from August to End of december/beginning of January and spring is from January to May/June. Also, you can do the Advantage program which adds the summer onto whatever semester you're doing. So, Fall Advantage is May/June through end of december/beginning of January and Spring Advantage is from January to August.
So, you apply online and then you do a Web-Based Interview and then if you pass that then you can do a phone interview, from my understanding. Then, if you get accepted, you'll be in one of these roles:
Attractions
Quick Service Food & Beverage
Photopass
Merchandise
Front Desk/Concierge
Character Attendant
Custodial
Entertainment (Audition Only)
Then, you go and spend your time at Disney. You can also take classes while there, but it depends on what school you go too for whether or not you get actual credit for them/the program.
Oh my god, the stories I could tell! It is so much fun!
I did amypuddles for a while, I wan't as big a fan as P&P or the other Amy. I haven't watched the other two, when I find enough time to binge through a bunch of vlogs I will. But I should finish my AP Art History HW, but I'm running out of BS to write on a picture of an iceberg that looks like penguinsEvery semester, there's always great DCP vloggers.
Olaf and Olivia, amypuddlesvlogs, Tparty, (she just started her program I think) all great ones.
Imagine the Vista Way multi story complexes, with several groups of people sitting on the roofs singing in round robbins. One complex would start a song and the other complexes join in one by one. At the end of the program we would throw our shoes in the lake, we had secret drinking parties, I climbed on top of Pinocchio's Haus (forbidden) to take a pic, we had three separate hurricanes that year that in our wisdom we (all of Vista Way) had parties outdoors. God, I should get my pictures.Beat me to it RM

That was probably the tamest stories (Pleasure Island was still open during my CP ((showing my age)), but I would highly suggest doing DCP if you get the chance. Some of it sucks, don't get me wrong, but it was so worth it!Sounds like a blast...
Beat you by a year , me and my best friend have been concocting plans since 5th grade. At the time we didn't know what it was, but now we are well educated Disney fanatic and fan respectively. I've heard Jungle Cruise could be a pain to work on, but it could be Pirates I'm thinking of.Yeah, but the DCP has been a little thought of mine since 6th grade, I've always wanted to do it.
And, working on the Jungle Cruise is also a dream on mine. (Like most people). Another one of my favorite DCP bloggers extended her program and is working on Jungle Cruise for the fall. Her youtube name is "missshelbayy"
I've heard its more of a party complex
Guessing 2005 since to my knowledge hasn't been three hurricanes since then (Katrina, Wilma +1).Imagine the Vista Way multi story complexes, with several groups of people sitting on the roofs singing in round robbins.
