Last night we had cheese ravioli, garlic bread and steamed broccoli (doesn't really go, but I like broccoli okay?)

Tonight we're going out because today is my last day at this job! :sohappy: I start a new one Monday morning!

I never quite got the reason for serving a veggie with pasta.
Salad I understand, but corn? :veryconfu

Maybe it's a New York thing - we never had veggies with pasta either - just salad, bread and pasta.

Last night I had Chicken Noodle Soup (fighting a cold), tonight we usually go out after class to a local pub - I'm thinking of Open Chicken Souvlaki w/o the peppers and onions and dry pita.

Tonight, Leftover Irish Stew.

My Italian mother-in-law often serves green vegetables (spinach, broccoli, broccolirabe) with pasta, but never carrots. Ick.

Veggie Dogs (for me)
Cheese Hot Dogs (for them)
Macaroni & Cheese
Corn on the Cob

That's tonight's menu:

A. Because it is simple
B. Because we need to go to the grocery store!

And my Italian relatives never did.

I know there are sauces with carrots in them, for sweetness they tell me, but we never cooked sauce that way just garlic and basil. I love broccoli rabe cooked in garlic and olive oil with a touch of crushed red pepper (thats good mixed into pasta and a bit more olive oil with some romano cheese). :slurp:

Oh well, all this talk of past makes me want some so I will make pasta and chicken sauce tonight. Thats tomato sauce with diced chicken instead of beef. It started out as a way to use leftover sauce and chicken and now its Princess #2's favorite. We'll have a tossed salad too.

Tonight I'm having fertalized duck eggs, moose nose pate, and deep-fried sand worms...

Oh, wait a minute, I'm not Andrew Zimmern. Guess it'll have to be spaghetti.

Heading for the great escape.
Halumi cheese with tomatoes and olive oil dressing to start then Steak with rosemary roasted spuds, sautéed mushrooms, and a herby green salad.
Fresh fruit for dessert, and a wee hello cheeky when Im watching the football later, the mans version not the tarts in pads n helmets.

You lost me at wee hello cheeky :lookaroun

It was nacho night here  Healthy goodness :slurp: Actually, I figure if tacos would be acceptable, so are nachos  Same stuff, in a different vehicle  Plus, I buy whole grain chips to do nachos for a meal, and then with the lettuce, tomatoes, sour cream, and hormone and antibiotic free beef :lookaroun I think it's practically health food! :slurp:

My mom is making bread crumb chicken and macaroni and cheese. And something else I think?

I don't know, but it smells good.

Much of my menu is determined by what's in the fridge and what the kids will eat. They won't eat any of the lasagna, since they don't like the way it looks. The other 3 things they will eat. For myself, I'll eat pretty much anything and any corn the kids won't eat, I'll just mix in with my lasagna.

Here's a link to a simple recipe I've made for years and years.

http://www.astray.com/recipes/?show=Dr martin's mix

Don't know why it's called Dr. Martin's Mix, but my family has always used this name. I did a search in the intrawebs, and there it was! BTW, use a pound of meat, not a half pound. I also add more Worcestershire, but that's mostly because I'm addicted to the stuff.
